Welcome one, and welcome ALL to our 10th Thread, celebrating the long haul that has been central to our successful weight loss...

There is certainly lots more success to be enjoyed, so stay and weigh, there is always someone on hand for support or to give a kick up the backside as needed Grin We are good at motivating one another that's for sure!

glad you had a good time piste. I did wi this morning, it was not good news, I will wi again tomorrow, maybe just one day will make a little difference Blush

I have to lose 1.5 stone by xmas.

bebejones · 31/07/2011 20:47

I am back too! Had a really great weekend then bumped back down to reality when I got home! Sucks! Hoping to sts 2moro after the badness...unlikely I know!

I need to shift a stone by Xmas!

bebejones · 01/08/2011 08:05

Well I have sts, which is some kind of miracle! I'm thinking that I was so good (and I really was) before I went away that I must have lost & then put it back on over the weekend! I had wine, LOADS of cheese, bread, cake, gateau, chips, massive piece of quiche & plenty of other bad stuff! It was great!! :o Back to it today! Unfortunately it is DDs birthday party on Saturday & then it's her birthday next Tuesday. Really must be a good girl! Hmm

RatherBeOnThePiste · 01/08/2011 08:29

Well done Bebe! You probably balanced out the good and the bad. I have a friend who has always managed her weight well and she eats what she likes at weekends then during the week she is very careful/ diets.

Hope GT will be along in a mo to WI .......

I am aiming for 10 stone I have decided. I am going to get through the holidays on a damage limitation approach then go for it big time in September. I definitely put on last week, but how can one go camping without bacon sarnies??!!

OP posts:
bebejones · 01/08/2011 08:53

I think you need bacon sarnies to get through camping! Wink

RatherBeOnThePiste · 01/08/2011 08:58

Gin helps too. X

OP posts:
bebejones · 01/08/2011 09:09

RatherBeOnThePiste · 01/08/2011 09:25

Try it Wink

I too am back from my Greek holiday and Shock have STS! Grin

This is despite two weeks of 2 large G&Ts every night plus plenty of Mythos to quench the thirst. Blush

I swam loads of lengths to try to compensate: by the last day I was up to 150 lengths of a c.20m pool (slow and steady breast stroke alternated with the odd length of back stroke). We also managed to hire bikes so did some cycling around the (hilly) island.

We did consciously try not to eat for the sake of it - so often didn't have lunch or only had starters in the eveining if we had had some lunch. Only had two icecreams in the fortnight (not including the waffle and icecream I had one night for dinner Wink) Plus I wasn't able to nibble except for for pistachios, cashew nuts, crisps and olives that we had with our G&Ts Hmm

I am dead chuffed with myself. Need to keep up the good work now. :)

GettinTrimmer · 01/08/2011 13:55

Unfortunately I have gained 4lb Sad Blush no surprise, but at least I am more settled now and can concentrate on what needs to be done which is to lose 1stone 8lb.

It sounds miniscule but I am aiming for 3lb over the holidays, am taking dc & friends to park tomorrow with a picnic, and have to plan, bean salad for me.

Pretty well done for sts, that is impressive, we are almost the same weight.

Smalline we can get back into it together

pisty I would also like one your slim gins instead of going to ASDA

GettinTrimmer · 01/08/2011 13:58

bebe also well done for sts.

There was another thread with tips on how to stay on the straight and narrow during holiday time and one was to plan carefully in advance. I really don't want to go heading towards 13 stone again, I have lost the plot a bit lately and would like to get below 12 stone asap.

RatherBeParcelPiste · 02/08/2011 07:58

Well done Pretty for your sts...
Smalline - well done for facing up to the gain. Now you are back from your Greek holiday it will settle down again and you will be able to take control again. And what are holidays for if not relaxing and doing as you will?!

Lovely GT- you have been upside down for a while so it's no surprise on your gain. But as you get more settled it will be easier. And you are so right about planning!! Grazing is my problem and in the summer that's too easily done.

I'm still on damage limitation after my camping holiday. I am hoping for only a small gain or even sts on Friday. I'm back onto my running and gym routine later which will be good!

GettinTrimmer · 02/08/2011 10:06

Are you waiting for a parcel pisty?!

The good news is, we have chucked rubbish crappy stupid Virgin, and will be connected for broadband and landline on Friday and going for sky/freesat for telly. Dh phoned them yesterday and they said it would take another 2 weeks at least to connect us, and when dh said we were going to move, they guy said "don't blame you!" Obviously they didn't want to spent the money on repairing the damaged cable. Rant over!

Yes, planning is all important. I have packed a picnic for dc and friends, sandwiches, left over cakes from ds's party, crisps and fruit. I am packing myself a tuna and pasta salad. I did mean to do Davina fit while I had the house to myself early this morning but was knackered Blush

Grazing is also my downfall! Another idea I have is to cut up carrots/cucumber and snack on them in the evening.

RatherBeParcelPiste · 02/08/2011 11:06

I'm actually collecting one of the MN Blankets on Thursday from someone in Harrods! They can't trust parcelforce anymore who nearly lost one. Bloody hell. Actually this one is the fabric quilt for Edgar and the woman who has made it is coming up from Wales for a few days. I'm looking forward to seeing it, it's said to be amazing.

GettinTrimmer · 02/08/2011 17:13

Ah yes, I don't blame you piste, after what happened last time. Will look on fb for a picture of it.

Well, today I've managed to not go off the rails. Scrambled egg on toast for breakfast, tuna and 2oz of pasta with salad for lunch, tea mash, salmon and mixed frozen veg. I just have to ward off the munchies this evening with carrot sticks.

bebejones · 02/08/2011 17:51

Oooh Piste - I did 2 squares for the fabric quilt!!! Can't wait to see a piccy!

RatherBeParcelPiste · 02/08/2011 18:19

I will def take some pics then! I've also got Knotty on my fb - she'd love to see a preview too I'm sure. I'll have to take such care of it though

bebejones · 02/08/2011 18:50

Tricky day today food wise. Not been too bad though.

B - Yoghurt & banana
L - (Was at Picnic with DDs music group) Had some ryvita & lf philly then 3 cubes (small cubes!!) of cheese & some grapes.
Had a small Twister lolly this afternoon
D - Very meaty Beef burger (cooked on the George) in small bun with salad.

Been making DDs cake (well some of the fondant decorations) don't know how well behaved I'm going to be at the weekend! Hmm

RatherBeParcelPiste · 03/08/2011 09:34

Weigh in on Friday Bebe as you have a busy weekend foodwise, I look forward to seeing a photo of the cake!

I'm back to running and gym today, my asthma has been too dodgy, but I'm going to go later. Now its the summer I can look for classes during the daytime, as you can just turn up to those without booking in advance, so I might try spinning although everyone says its very painful!

GettinTrimmer · 03/08/2011 19:01

yes try spinning piste, it's supposed to be the best calorie burner.

What design are you doing for your dd's cake Bebe?

I've not had a good day, a tuna melt panini after swimming, no salads to choose from and they gave dd a heap of chips, I was restrained and only had 5. Then I got light headed late afternoon, (low blood sugar) and had an apple, banana then 3 hovis crackers with houmous. Then rice, quorn sausages but apple and blackberry crumble with cream after that. As we said holidays are hard, but tomorrow should be easier as we are staying at home and having friends over.

RatherBeParcelPiste · 03/08/2011 19:59

I think I will GT - I have just been running but am absolutely done for now
