Welcome one, and welcome ALL to our 10th Thread, celebrating the long haul that has been central to our successful weight loss...

There is certainly lots more success to be enjoyed, so stay and weigh, there is always someone on hand for support or to give a kick up the backside as needed Grin We are good at motivating one another that's for sure!

Passes out the champagne that looks suspiciously like wine, Blondes you are only allowed ONE!

Hope that phone call comes through soon GT. Smile

GettinTrimmer · 21/06/2011 11:25

came through. We've exchanged contracts. Now it's happened i feel Smile and funnily enough Sad at the same time. Just because we've been here for 11 years, had the children, made this a real home Grin Smile Sad It feels odd.

Anyway, how are you LRD?

LRDTheFeministNutcase · 21/06/2011 13:22

I can imagine ... 11 years is a long time! But I'm excited for you with your new home, too.

I'm fine thanks, life is just trotting along here (working hard) - not finding it terribly easy to lose at the moment because when I'm working a lot DH tends to buy me treats and I have no willpower! Grin But I'm eating healthier things, so not too down about it overall.

So when is the big moving day?

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/06/2011 14:08

yah for exchanging :)

< Hauls a drunken Pretty back to her feet >
GT. I am sO pleased that it is definitely happening. It is odd though moving the family home and I completely empathise with your mixed emotions. When you've brought your babies home there and all grown up together, it's odd to leave. But very exciting too, quite an adventure for you all to share in. The next step for your family.

Just been to the gym. Ran 3K, did ergos for 2K then bike. But not a spinning type bike, one where you pedal out in front. Quite hard work really.

What was a bit Hmm was that running 3K ( admittedly not quickly) only burns 197 cals. For the effort involved 197 is nothing. It's a bag of crisps. You could chose not to eat the crisps, and not run 3K. Far less sweaty!! Grin

That's why I hate running on treadmills. It seems like sooo much more effort than running the equivalent distance outside - where at least you are seeing things and breathing fresh air.

I did a 3.4 mile run yesterday - the nice thing about getting my distance back up is that I can run part of it in the lovely woodland wayways of Pollok Park, which is a mile from where I live.

PistyNoMates · 21/06/2011 22:59

Except I could run and watch Wimbledon!

I am better indoors at the mo. One of my knees ( ski accident ) was getting too sore pounding the pavements and someone recommended trying a machine as it causes less stress. But also, I have controlled asthma (unless i forget to get repeat prescriptions at the right time Blush ) but the hayfever season is always a bit of a dodgy time for my little chesty.. So all in all I'm in at the mo. But I intend to go out again. This isn't a forever arrangement. I just want to keep it up. Plus I get to use the other machines which I like.

prettybird · 21/06/2011 23:39

Have you tried sorbothane insoles? They do a good job of absorbing impact. So far, touch wood, they seem to be keeping my achilles tendonitis at bay (that and a lot of stretching after a run). Now I just need to worry about my hip

I worked out that the time I trained for the London marathon and didn't have a problem I was using the insoles and all the subsequent times I wasn't Hmm(sometimes I can be a bit slow on the uptake)

PistyNoMates · 22/06/2011 07:35

I'll look out for those, thanks! I also need new running legging things because I have an Embarrasing Hole or two. Fine when running but possibly not in the gym Blush

prettybird · 22/06/2011 07:52

I need to pension off my running tights: I've worked out that they are 20 years old, are therefore a size or two too small and now the stitching for some of the seams is starting to unravel, creating holes Blush

Smalline · 22/06/2011 10:46

Hi Ladies, was away the weekend so didn't weigh, ate and drank loads (in fact I was a little piggy)Blush, have been good since monday so hope I haven't done too much damage.

Great news trimmer that you have exchangedSmile, have had lots of interest on our house and a couple of silly offers (10-15 grand lower than the asking price), we've seen a house that we like, it's tiny though but with lots of potential to extend, the garden is the selling point though, there is enough for the kids, the dogs and for me to have our own section, unfortunately the schools are not that great (according to the ofsted reports, but we will need to visit them to get a good feel of them before we make our mind up).

I know exactly how you feel trimmer, we've been here 16 years and as you say brought the kids home from hospital and made a home here with them, am I right in thinking that your kids haven't started as school yet?

Smalline · 22/06/2011 10:59

Ignore my question trimmer have just remembered that you work at your child's/children's school, doh! will they be changing schools?

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/06/2011 13:28

total shame here

ate rocky road at coffee am Blush

PistyNoMates · 22/06/2011 16:31

Rocky road is what I made DS for his birthday isn't it? Hope it was as nice as mine then!! There is no "total shame" required Blondes...

You talk about trying to kick start yourself, but maybe at the moment your energies are best channelled elsewhere and not in thinking about dieting? You don't need to put pressure on yourself like that. The joy for you is that when you are ready to return to it, you know exactly what to do, being the WW Queen Smile

And by the way, how many WW points are in a slim Gin, is it a low point thing? Only there are really mixed calorie reports on drinks, and I just wondered, and I don't want to be deceiving myself iyswim

prettybird · 22/06/2011 16:45

Why have you gone back to calling yourself Pistynomates ? Hmm

PistyNoMates · 22/06/2011 17:02

< arf >
it was in honour of last nights Biggest Loser programme because everyone else was out! I had forgotton that i need to change it back, but that is easier on my computer than my phone. So I might be Pisty no mates for a bit longer!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/06/2011 22:45

I will lose this Friday, even if it means I chop my bloody legs off.
< no idle threat >

OP posts:
prettybird · 23/06/2011 08:41

My tablet-making might have scuppered my chances 'cos the bowls need to be scraped out and the end result sampled Blush

GettinTrimmer · 23/06/2011 16:48

I am not having a good day Blush

My excuse is having my mind on moving!

Pisty, there are no points in slimline tonic, but I think they've put up points of gin. One of your biggies I think would be about 2 points.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/06/2011 07:02

Really pleased and no swearing is needed this Friday - lost 3lbs, so altogether that is 3.5stone, and I think I'm almost there, not quite sure...[indecisive bint] I'm not sure how to know when to stop, we've been doing it so long. I'm a bit fraught at the idea of stopping because I'm so worried it will just all go back on.

I'm also really enjoying the gym, love the machines, but really love boxercise, although I still got in a tangle with my rope! And last night a man in my class (quite yum) when we were doing the glove and pad stuff blew my glove off as in the BL and I had to go and retrieve it from the other side of the room Blush Grin

We are away this weekend, so there will be lots of booze and no sleep, just lots of catching up to be done. Can't wait and the forecast is SUN. Faints

Then on Monday I am giving blood and I mustn't forget this time Blush

blondes well done on sts

piste congrats on your 3lb loss. Have good weekend.

smalline good luck with your move. We had to accept £15,000 below asking price due to stamp duty. Can I be nosey and ask whereabouts you are? Dc will not move school, we can still walk.

This evening/tonight was going to be the first time dh & I have been alone (without dc) for nearly 9 years.

Ds is staying at year 4 camp at school. Dd was going to stay with my mum and dad. But sadly she's poorly, we have both been up for most of the night, she was very sick Sad so she can't go.

where is Bebe?
