Hi
I am hoping that others who have a huge amount of weight to loose may like to have a support thread to get fit and shift some fat :)
I am currently around 18 stone, to terrified to get on the scales atm but will soon. I suffer from depression in part linked to my weight and am very unfit.
I have really got to do something, have always struggled with my weight and comfort eat hugely.
Anyone like to join me :)

Can I join please? I am very big probably 19stone (gulp) but I dont have any scales. Later today I am going out to get some cheap ones and also some of those exercise wristbands they were talking about on the bingo wings thread.

I need to ask a question without sounding stupid I hope, I dont exercise a) because I am lazy and b) because I dont know what to wear. Its not because I'm vain of fashion mad but I'm not about to take my clothes off in front of anyone to go swimming and flylady says walk for 15 mins which is fine but my legs rub together and the inside top of my trousers starts to disappear.

And of course congratulations to the weight everyone has already lost, you all seem focused and doing well in making an effort. Well done.

I did look at flylady and backed out very carefully though did refrain from reaching for a biscuit to get over the shock

IdontknowwhyIcare · 19/05/2011 08:06

Lol at humancatapault, no I dont do flylady but I did think even I could manage 15 mins of walking, it really seemed quite sensible and easy, having said that i have failed dismally to walk even once since she began moving in May ie 15 mins a day. How useless am I???

TheHumanCatapult · 19/05/2011 08:12

ah see I have the perect exsuce why could not mange 15 mins of walkingWink ( use a wheelchair ) but I am determined to lose the weight

Hi all,
have done okay for the last couple of days.

I've been using food focus as well. I find it really helpful and easy to use, just a bit long winded. It is good to see it all in black and white. It was slightly disappointing when I logged on last week as it still remembered me from 18 months ago when I lost two stone and got down to 13 and a half stone. So now the little graph has a big jump up on it Blush Can't find out how to delete that bit - tis sobering though when I want to snack!

Idon'tknow - I try and walk if I can. My legs do rub and my trousers get worn there first. I usually wear jeans or some jogging bottoms. I've also got some rosemary conley dvds which I do at home when the dcs are in bed.

I am plucking up courage to get back on my bike.

humancatapult - I also don't tell anyone. I can't be doing with helpful enquiries or being under scrutiny. I am only human after all.

IdontknowwhyIcare · 19/05/2011 08:34

Sorry to hear about the wheelchair, humanC. Do you get to exercise at all? Lol at the not needing to worry about bingo wings.

TheHumanCatapult · 19/05/2011 09:14

thank you was shock but now ok with it and could been worse

not yet as too soon but will start swimming when i can ,wheeling my lardy arse around must count as some I reckon .though .Mind I swear biscuits screaming my name at me this morning

whyme2 · 19/05/2011 09:26

lol - I recognise the sound of biscuits calling my name so I have selflessly given the last two to dd.

Good luck for the day.

Hi , Human Catapult , you made me grin all over my face with the bingo wings.

Idontknow , when I first started going to the gym at my heaviest (19.9 stone) I just wore Jogging bottoms and t shirts . Could you try joggers with leggings under maybe ? Dont know if that would rub more or less , but it might help.

I did go to the gym today and managed 45 mins before I gave in to the pain in my knee . I have had a good day food wise too , so , I am feeling positive today.

The weekend is the acid test for me as I enjoy my wine on a saturday, which inevitably makes me want to eat. The plan is to buy WW wine and prepare salad sticks in advance Grin

Has everyone had a good weekend? I always find them hard. We did well this weekend so I've started the week feeling positive. We've got family coming from America later this week and have lots planned so know it's not going to be a great week on a the whole. Previously I would use this an excuse to 'blow it all' so I'm trying to stay focussed this week and go for damage limitation.

Weighed in this morning and have lost 5lbs Grin.

I'd like to join please. I'm not going to state my weight because I don't think that's helpful, but suffice to say that some of you on here are lighter than me.
I've been active in trying to lose weight for a couple of months and have shifted over a stone so far by following a very healthy eating plan based on low GI, more veg + less carbs, portion control and cutting out unhealthy snacking. I'm not following a diet plan but I've got several GI diet type books and am loosely basing it on that. It allows me to eat mugh of what I like and is flexible, and seems to be working for me so far.
I'm starting to feel as if I have lost weight, and have dropped a clothes size.
I haven't upped my exercise much yet...need to regain some confidence in going swimming or gym attending. Do use my exercise bike though.
My only worry is going on holiday in June for two weeks. I want to relax a little and know I probably won't lose any weight during that time, but I want to avoid putting any on if possible.

whyme2 · 23/05/2011 15:13

Hi everyone,
not had such a good weekend and definitely not lost any weight this week. Exercise has been totally put on hold as I put my back out yesterday and can barely walk never mind exercise Sad Hopefully back to normal in a few days.

Well done trees - that is an impressive loss.
