Excited by the possibility of eating shedloads of carbs but worried about the reduction in your Wine intake?

Carb intake increase excites me to the point of foamery but wine intake decrease makes me cry.

My friend who has been very successful on SW doesn't care much for a drink, the bloody weirdo.

Right, so you can have between 5-10 syns per day and:

White/Red wine (175 mls) = 6 syns
250mls = 8 syns

I have heard tell that you can roll over your syns daily and then gt fucking bladdered on a friday night, but whether that is true or not is another matter.

The wine thing distresses me greatly. At least on WW, my 49 extra PPs per week afford me 2 and a bit bottles of wine.

See, I think that 49 weekly points is BAD. Because what I do is think "oh right, bottle of wine is 22 points or whatever, I can have two of them and maybe a bag of crisps and...." before I know it I've blown it again

I think I need to be horrifically strict on myself. I've been alright the last couple of days. Not hungry at all and not craving crisps and bread. I crave bread something awful on WW.

My weigh-in is on a saturday and I have used my 49 extra PPs by.... saturday night :(

I used 35 of them on the new Calabrese pizza in Pizza Express last saturday. It tatsted fucking good though.

I lost 2ibs last week but that was a first since the festive period of yule. I am bored too. I've just shoved half a bag of pretzels into my greedy gob. If I were on SW, I would have had a huge bowl of pasta for lunch and been full until dinner time.

Also, this "rounding up" of pps is grossly unjust. A crumpet = 2 pp so 2X crumpets = 4pps, right? WRONG, 2 crumpets = 5 pps. What the blinking fuck?

Well I had a bowl of porridge and a banana for breakfast - I fuckinghate porridge.

And for lunch I had a massive jacket potato and cottage cheese and those notcrab sticks and I'm not remotely starving.

Seriously, that carameilised onion and mushroom WW lasagne I had was worse than anything I have ever eaten. (and I've eaten your mum)

Dont do yourself out of syns-it's between 5-15 a day but they say aim for ten in the groups.

What are you following to do it? Just the magazine from this month? Cos if you are you may be missing out on the bestest of all plans which is extra easy-that jacketpot and tuna is no issue on that one-only if youre doing red and green days

f'kin hell they should gimme a job as a consultant!

I've joined the online thingy. Got a lot of learning to do, it's weird when you're coming from one diet to another one, especially when the rules are so different.

Now. Can you answer me this? Can marmalade and I save up our sins and get drunk on wine every Friday night and talk shit to each other? Is this allowed?

You shouldnt use flexi-syns every week, they are only for special occasions. You can try saiving your syns and using them once a week, and see how it affects your loss. Some can do it fine, a small minority cant get away with it. Flexi-syns is where you give yourself a set amount of "extra" syns to use on a special occasion like a birthday party/wedding.

Howto is quite right, but I wasn't going to be the one to drag down your mood. If youre serious about weightloss you cant drink that much.

I miss drinking, I would get drunk most fridays and drink at least 2 or 3 glasses on wine almost ever evening, so I know how tough it is. But I am high on weightloss success at the moment so it's worth it.

I disagree about the not drinking much and weightloss. I lost 3 stone on WW and never once had to cut out my wine! I refuse to say goodbye to my old pal Vino.

How often can you use flexi-syns then? For example, this month I have a 60th on saturday then Mother's Day, then DH's birthday. I couldn't use flexi-syns for all of those, could I?

Look, you massive lush, the way I see it is thus:

  1. No drinking at all during the working week. This is hard, obviously, because it means that you have to find other things to do, such as having a nice bath (fucking hell) or doing your nails (fucking hell) but the upside of this is no more waking up at 2 in the morning, slumped at the computer desk with a flyer for a local restaurant stuck to your face. This might not have happened. It did

  2. Therefore you will get well wankered on less wine. OR swap to vodka.

  3. Sack off starting the diet until after all the fun stuff this weekend.

  4. Shut up.
