Defecting from WW to SW?

Excited by the possibility of eating shedloads of carbs but worried about the reduction in your Wine intake?

Confused about the difference in the diets?

Contemplating changing over?

Compulsive question asker?

Don't ask me, I haven't got a clue.

I dunno. It seemed important at the time. HOOPS they are and HOOPS they shall remain.

Come on comeon come on. What's stopping you? I had wine and everything.

Well done shirleyknot

Initially I thought Good Lord, what a PIG , then realised you had listed the food for the whole week.

I have been on it for 3 weeks, lost a total of 9lb, and have eaten really well. No Big Macs or huge bars of choc, but if I want to syn them, I have the freedom to do so.

I am not going to meetings, and find the Magazine pretty good for information and meal ideas.

I am craving wine now after 'meeting' you guys Grin

marmaladetwatkins · 04/04/2011 13:15

The only thing that's stopping me is because I did SW before. I left WW to go there, then defected back to WW. I don't want to be one of those those weirdos who spends their life trying every diet and remaining a wobbler :(

But ehn again, I was doing well at WW. I was 9lbs off target weight. It's THEIR fault for changing the plan. Maybe a change will be as good as a rest?

I have no idea what you'e on about, stinky. You make us sound like raving alchies, when only one of us is. Clue: it's not me Wink

ShirleyKnot · 04/04/2011 13:19

haha stinky. Can you imagine eating that amount of food in a day. Would there even be enough hours?

It's great isn't it? Well done on your 9lbs. I just can't work out how I can be losing weight though. Confused I mean, I'm not eating chocolate or sweets or crisps or bread and butter - but I am stuffing my face with all the stuff I'm allowed to eat. It's really weird.

Have you looked at the website? There's some recipes on there I think, that you can look at them without paying for a subscription.

ShirleyKnot · 04/04/2011 13:21

marms - you're not a bloody wobbler though. Hmmm. If you're only 9lb away from goal then perhaps you better stick with WW then.

Perhaps you should use this thread to get you through this last bit? You know, I can shout at you and shit?

OP posts:
marmaladetwatkins · 04/04/2011 13:43

No, I WAS 9lbs off target. Now I am out of control and probably am back to a stone off target. This morning I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon cooked with butter and CREAM.

My colon is crying for help :( Was very tasty though.

Can you shout at me though, Shirls? CHOCLIT?

ShirleyKnot · 04/04/2011 13:49

Right so a stone to lose then?

Are you going to the WW classes or doing it online or are you just going off olds books and stuff?

See on SW you could have had the scrambled eggs - as many as you like AND the smoked salmon AND had it on toast - just no butter or cream - and it would have counted as FREE (eggs) FREE (smoked salmon) 1 x Healthy Extra (Bread) So no poxy counting points bolleux.

STOP EATING SHIT YOU HEFFER! (how was that?)

OP posts:
marmaladetwatkins · 04/04/2011 14:25

Well, I was going to the meetings but I haven't been for, erm,a bit. They started getting a bit chaotic in there and doing my head in.

Love french bolleux.

I think I may do it. I will purchase a SW magazine forthwith. I WILL be PMing you going "Shirl can I eat a Snickers as a healthy extra?"

ShirleyKnot · 04/04/2011 14:33

See I would like to do the Slimming World meetings, but I did SW before, about 4 years ago now I suppose and the leader was called Sandra and she was HORRIBLE.

I went to Dublin for the weekend with my mates and put on 6lbs Shock right? and I knew, I just knew that it would settle down the next week - I got weighed on the Tuesday morning, and I'd only got home on the Monday night - I think it was mainly alcohol water retention.

ANYWAY - the rancid witch did that "round-up" thing, where they say "Maggie, you did very well this week, 2 lbs off and Susan, you managed to lose 4 lbs, WELL DONE and the winner of the fruit basket (WHICH NEVER HAD FUCKING FRUIT IN IT BTW) is Mary with a brilliant 7lbs off this week - I mean Mary has got another 7 stone to go, but well done Mary" You know that kind of thing and she FUCKING MENTIONED MY GAIN and said all faux caring "Where do you think you went wrong?"

Cow. So I smiled and said "I went to dublin and spent 4 days in the gutter"

Anyway - she still runs the meetings round our way.

The End.

Guffawing at Dublin in gutter. I love you I do, Shirls.

My SW and WW leaders have both been lovely. I tell them upfront if I am going to have an offish week due to social engagements. I think they fear respect me.

There MUST be another meeting chaired by another leader? You're in that London, right? There are a millionty leades here and I am in the arsehole of England.

marmaladetwatkins · 04/04/2011 14:40

P.S I won the bag o'fruit one week and was very pleased as it was a huge bag of Waitrose fruit and veg.

I used to walk there and back, a mile, the fruit bag was cutting into my hands after a quarter of a mile so I dumped it in a hedge. I hope none of the lentil-knitters see this.

ShirleyKnot · 04/04/2011 14:47

You Earth MURDERER.

There is another class run by NotSandra but it's at like, 10am on a Tuesday and I'm at work.

Sandra runs all the classes round here. I think she knows where the bodies are buried.

Also, I find the classes quite depressing in a non specific way.

OP posts:
marmaladetwatkins · 04/04/2011 14:51

They are very depressing but I need the humilation of a failed weigh-in to spur me on. I tried doing a weigh-in with my bezzie mate at her house but because it was only her I didn't give a shit if I failed because she would just chuckle and offer me tea and biscuits to cheer me up.

ShirleyKnot · 04/04/2011 14:55

I know what you mean about the humiliation aspect.

One of my best friends asked me to take a photo of her in her underwear once a month as she was convinced that would stop her eating. (I told her I wasn't going to lick her out no matter how much she begged)

Love her.

marmaladetwatkins · 04/04/2011 17:22

Right, my friend has just dropped round her SW books for me. It looks a brain ache but am going to give it a go...

stinkypinky · 04/04/2011 20:21

Nearly PMSL! Thank you again for brightening up my day Grin

marmaladetwatkins · 04/04/2011 20:25

Oh God, these SW rules are making my brains hurt.

Are Mullerlights still free?

HHLimbo · 04/04/2011 20:35

Opps I thougth this was called the defecators!

sorry, as you were, dont mind me...

SandrafromSW · 04/04/2011 20:36

I loved you Shirls, I really loved you Sad

ShirleyKnot · 05/04/2011 09:29

HAHAHA!

Marms - Muller Light are still free. Easiest way to do it (IMHO) is just to think - All lean meat, fish, potatoes, pasta, rice, fat free yoghurt, fat free anything really, eggs, quorn (boke), beans, veg, fruit, lentils and ting are all FREE.

Count your milk/cheese and count your bread/cereal/crispbreads. One portion of each (amounts should be in the book)

I'm going more or less syn free - apart from the odd tablespoon of extra light mayo (which is I think half a syn) and the wine I had at the weekend, because I think I'm so chuffed at what I CAN eat that I'm not bothered in the slightest about eating other stuff - DYKWIM?

oh, and HHLIMBO? I think the defecators could be a whole other thread.

OP posts:
HHLimbo · 06/04/2011 17:08

Grin yes it would have to be something involving fibre I think.

ShirleyKnot · 08/04/2011 22:06

Right Marms, you FAT HEFFER - how you doing on the old SW?

Honestly, I love this diet THIS MUCH.

I haven't had a bar of chocolate for ages. Also - No Sex and really really eggy farts.
