costa dont do a chai tea latte

bebejones · 05/04/2011 21:35

Did you know you can buy Starbucks 'instant' coffee now? COmes in little individual sachets & is expensive, but totally worth it. I hate instant coffee, and since I'm the only one here who drinks it at all, making 'proper' coffee just for me is a waste...these little sachets are my Sunday morning treat! :o

Have added the TB books to my amazon wishlist & dropped some hints in DHs general direction! :o

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2011 21:38

i dont do coffee, only chai tea

smokinaces · 05/04/2011 21:40

costa are right above millies and the pretzel place and burger king though - if I get one it takes the smell away from all the bad places!! Grin I do get tea though I admit!

oooh Bebe, I rarely do coffee but they sound lush!

bebejones · 05/04/2011 21:52

They are good, micoground & instant together so tastes 'real' IYKWIM?

Tea - bleurrrrggghh!! Unless it has ice & some sort of flavour in it! Wink

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2011 21:58

they call it tea but more like Cinnamon hot milk

smokinaces · 05/04/2011 22:04

I looooooooooooooooooove tea. White, no sugar. drink cups and cups of it. may be persuaded to try Blondes SB version Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2011 22:06

its yummy :)

GettinTrimmer · 06/04/2011 07:49

I'm with you on instant coffee bebe, I don't like it. Now dh prefers instant coffee Hmm to me that means he doesn't like coffee! I love cafetiere coffee and cappuccinos, also coffee cake and tiramisu. Also tea, I probably drink too much tea and coffee and not enough water.

So that's what chai tea is then Blondes. Apparently, copious amounts of cinnamon can give you a high.

I am starting my knocking on doors jobs today to chase up census forms. Don't quite know what I'm doing yet with all the paperwork involved but will become clear when I do it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/04/2011 09:36

Still got poorly babs today so lots more tlc needed - off to indoor soft play centre with older one and her friend - where ever we are she will prob sit on me, so easier to be out then stuck inside with 2 of them moaning they are bored

I will avoid the bacon buttys that the other mums/nannies will have

GettinTrimmer · 06/04/2011 10:42

Happy birthday Pretty Wine Have a lovely day.

ds/dd have a choice of going into school dressed as a cat, baby or scottish person on Friday. The deputy head is leaving she's Scottish, 1 teacher leaving to have a baby another leaving for another school, she loves cats.

Ds is going as a Proclaimer, I'm teaching him the lyrics to Letter from America! That is easy but dd wants to go as a baby. Any ideas? Confused I was thinking of leggins and a button up top if I can find one to look like she has a babygro on.

smokinaces · 06/04/2011 13:48

Happy birthday Pretty!!

I am doing ok today. 2lb gain this week I reckon if I'm lucky. Been a bad week, PMT and lost motivation.

But I took the first step and went to the bank today. Meant I have consolidated my debts and should be debt free in 30 payments. And have enough left to cushion some payments for things like the car - or finally get divorced properly. Means a bit tighter living budget wise for the next 30 months, but that should be ok - does mean no massive weight gain or losses though as no new clothes!! So down to 10st 6 will be my final target I reckon - any smaller and my clothes will be too big.

Bank did discover a weird payment though, which turned out to be someone using a store card in my name! Rung the police and the card company, thieving bastards.

Must stick to the healthy eating now. Really must. Especially now its gettign warmer!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/04/2011 14:07

thieving bastards smokin hope you get it sorted

forgot to say, i was very good at soft play

had a ham and salad roll :)

'can you see my halo gleaming'

tell you what, if again i dont lose this week, the world will not be a good place!!!!

smokinaces · 06/04/2011 14:31

You must have my halo Blondes.

Right - update on the date. He's not pulled out. Looks like its a takeaway and film night for various reasons. Probably at mine as he has a flatmate, but he's seeing if they're out Saturday. So far so good, will keep you all updated!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/04/2011 14:34

wahoo!!!!

have a fab time sat and will get all the juicy details on sunday :)

prettybird · 06/04/2011 15:50

Thanks for the birthday greetings everyone :)

So far have been royally spoiled: OJ & bubbly Wine in bed and one present and some roses, then dh made breakfast (poached eggs on muffins with more champagne Wine) and called me through to the dining room to be served - where there were 50 red roses :)

Opened the rest of the presents and then dh took ds off to rugby camp (ds is on holiday).

I'm in the middle of making an Othello Cake (a Danish layer cake) and I for my own birthday cake. My mum used to make them years ago for a special treatgot dad to photocopy the recipe(s). Given that you need to make two cakes (a macaroon cake and then an angel cake) and confectioners' custard, it is a real faff, but really yummy. You have to sandwich together the macroon cake between the two angel cakes with the custard while the angel cakes are still warm. That's the stage I have got to.

Then, once it is fully cold, I need to ice the top with a chocolate glaze and cover the sides with whipped cream (although there is an option for decorating involving making almond paste that I am not bothering to do Grin).

A couple of friends and relatives are coming over at 5 to have the cake (and for SIL to give me her present) and then dh, ds, my dad and I are going out for dinner.

No diet for me today Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 06/04/2011 16:28

Just popping in to say Happy Birthday to Pretty. Will catch up properly (hopefully) later. X

Happy Birthday Pretty! You deserve to have a 'bad' diet day...It's your Birthday, if you can't treat yourself then, when can you?! Wink :o

Envy of Mr Whippy, we don't get ice cream vans round here :(

RatherBeOnThePiste · 06/04/2011 21:05

Am really fed up and I knew running was bad for me!

Just went totally splat when running Sad hands and knees all scraped and looking like my son's used to when he was about 9. I even had dripping blood from my fingers on my right hand, and it was running down my leg....

< Piste going for maximum sympathy >

But the worst is my iphone has died < wails > as the screen is totally smashed.

< Waits for fellow iphone lover Mrs B to come and give huge sympathy and consolation >
