Thanks Piste. The snotty woman was moaning about DS2 saying he never stops crying and moaning. He does, but he does tend to cry more than other kids - his SN and falling down a lot puts paid to that! She is a snobby bitch anyway, have nearly had fallings out with her a few times. Shes not even a mum, shes one of the Grandmas! DS1 has had a fab weekend with his dad (apart from some very late nights) and they are currently curled up in my bed watching a DVD as a treat. He has been very well behaved - but saying that all his bad behavious seems to come out to me.

He is very well behaved at school, it does all come out on me. Which is good in some ways! I am incidently going on a parenting course on Tuesday - 10 ways to deal with your childs behaviour or something - which I am really looking forward to!

Re. the single - I think its just the way things go. People go out in couples (of which I'm not one) or spur of the moment (of which I cant) I try and organise nights out - but like the last weekend, friends went out and got hammered the night before so were too hanging to want to go out again. Had a nice time away, and meant to be going away Saturday as well - but have a feeling I will get let down by the others I am meant to be going with tbh (they've let me down 4 times in the last 12 months)

I've done well with the diet though, after some very bad days! Tea and banana for brekkie and lunch (didnt get up till 11!) and then pasta and veg for dinner with some rice crackers for snacks. If I can combat one thing in my life....!!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 01/05/2011 19:29

Then that snotty woman is unspeakably foul and you can look her dead in the eye and know you have the moral high ground. How dare she comment on stuff she knows nothing about. Ignorant and stupid. Just blank her. Don't engage. She's not worth it. That's all spoken with my professional head on Grin

That is excellent about your DS1 and school. I thought it was possibly this way round. He feels closest to you, so he expresses his feelings (albeit inappropriately) to you.

Try to go with an open mind to your course. It might really help and you may well find parents in the same position as you. You may very well be able to help someone else. Recently, one of my staff recommended a parenting course to a mum of three who was at the end of her tether. Her middle child was angry and confused and aggressive towards her, we were getting some of it too, he kept trying to smash things, anyway, it really helped, everyone saw a noticeable change and the mum gained enormously in confidence and seemed much more relaxed. So think open minded thoughts on your way there!! Well, promise me you'll try?!

Whenever I go on training and get a free lunch, I tend to get a bit overexcited Grin

I did a parenting course too smokin, found it very reassuring. Also read a book called How to talk so children listen and How to listen so children talk. It helped me with some different strategies.

On the subject of parenting, we have told ours about where babies come from, especially when dd was talking to my mum about it - she spluttered her tea everywhere when dd said you do the "special cuddle" by holding up your t-shirt!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 01/05/2011 23:02

Gt - when I went running I saw someone collecting census returns, with a jacket,ID and a satchel. He was looking rather despairing actually. When do you stop?

Had fajitas tonight. The whole works. Come Tuesday fajitas will be off!

Bebe& Pretty - I hope you are ready for this?!
GT - you joining us?

Morning ladies!

Last day of fun carbs! Are we all ready?

We had Indian t/a last night, was scrummy! I was feeling pretty crap having lost part of my filling/tooth earlier in the day & suffering with yet another shitty cold! I had, however, been for a v long walk (by myself...bliss) up and down hills, across fields etc. Was marvellous & was out for an hour!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/05/2011 07:41

Morning all. Yes Bebe. Last day today of carbs. Not sure how this is going to be as I've read mixed reports. Gulp. So essentially we are allowed fruit and veg plus proteins. But not bread, pasta, rice etc.

Well I'll give it a whirl.

Blondes - glad you enjoyed me flashing you. Hope you are still asleep right now. X

DD is in a big regatta today. Between us, I can't bear watching. I find I get too nervous. She used to do gymnastics competitions/ displays and I found that dreadful because I was always sure she was going to land on her head. But I got used to them. Then we had the agonies of swimming galas but I got hardened to that. Now it's bloody regattas. She's in a single and is sure she will go into the river! On the upside I can lust after their first VIII, who are gorgeous young men. They all wear these tight all in one things. Let me tell you, there is nothing left to the imagination. Grin

Have fun ooogling then Piste! :o

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/05/2011 08:07

I will Bebe. I shall wear my shades then no one will see where I am looking. Wink. Obviously it would be inappropriate to ogle a child but they are 18!

Piste, thanks for thinking of me and the census collecting. I finish this job on Friday. I don't wear the jacket though, was told it's optional but the satchel is heavy.

Poor chap looking despairing! I can't say I've actually enjoyed the job, but I've done worse. I think I've only got a few Daily Mail readers who think I'm the census police Hmm

Sorry if anyone reads the DM!

Good luck to your dd in her regatta. I bet you won't know where to look Grin

I won't be joining you giving up bread, pasta etc, but will be cutting them down and adding more protein. The only reservation I have, is that you're a runner and carbs are required for the energy, but as you said, see how it goes.

Bebe sorry about another cold. Your area sounds ideal for walking.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/05/2011 09:23

GT - if I'm wearing my sunglasses, I'll know exactly where to look Grin

I imagine you must end up returning to the same houses repeatedly? Maybe that's why he was despairing because no one came to the door. It was early evening too and he probably wished he was at home watching telly!

Yes I am a bit unsure about low carbing and running. I have sort of settled on a 3 to 4 K route and I go then have two days off. If I end up keeling into the gutter I may have to rethink.
