he he he pretty, my kind of plan!! Grin

I would low carb - only I have a new found love for pasta with veg in low fat cream cheese. yummy, and definately not right for low carbing!!!

I have switched my weigh in to Saturday mornings by the way. Friday AMs was meaning binging friday and saturday nights - and Friday nights are me home alone with takeaway, crips, ice cream etc etc.

I can hear the crisps callingme from the cupboard. Have had a Alpen Light bar but they are still going. May have to go to bed to hide from the salt and vinegar loveliness. Have already had to hide the 2 donuts left over from the boys tea that they are having tomorrow. I even resisted finishing DS2's when he didnt eat it all!

bebejones · 21/04/2011 21:03

Carb Loading?! Count me in!!!

smokinaces · 21/04/2011 22:23

Oh, and another thing Blondes said?

We need to sort out a big London meet. Life's too short.

So Summer girls, we need to hit the big smoke!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 21/04/2011 23:22

Thumbs up to that Smoky

Smokin so lovely that you have spoken to blondes and glad she is ok I guess we have no choice in life but to carry on thinking of you blondes.

Put a 1 lb on oh dear and its going to get worse as we are going away for the weekend with friends in a caravan so lots of beer and food eeek.

Have a great weekend everyone xxx

RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/04/2011 09:23

Stands with back to wall so lovely Blondes cant kick my arse. STS here so that's ok especially as we didn't hold back on the booze in Amsterdam Grin

Looking forward to our low carbing push Bebe. I have hovered around the 11.8/11.9 Mark for almost a year now. I feel I have sort of settled here but am keen to try to go to 10 stone something. ( Even 10.13 would make my heart sing) We will see I reckon I'm going to try for a month. Gulp.

smokinaces · 22/04/2011 09:41

Laughalot, 1lb isnt too bad! Hope you have a fab weekend!

Piste, STS whilst in Amsterdam - well done you!! Though I remember going there when I was doing Slimming World and even with fish and chips and the rest I lost 3lb, all the walking I guess!

I too have hovered around the 11 1/2 mark for a while - so am arse kicking in the next few weeks. Want to see that 10 like you Piste. How tall are you? I'm only 5ft 4 so it all makes a big difference on my frame.

my weigh in is tomorrow. Going to get out there in the sunshine!

GettinTrimmer · 22/04/2011 10:14

Low carbing - lurking about on slimming thread that diet book India whatsername is supposed to be very good.

I thought if running seriously low carb diet isn't advisable though.

dreading tomorrow's wi, I didn't wi last week.... Blush

GettinTrimmer · 22/04/2011 10:14

I think it's called pig to twig or something like that.

GettinTrimmer · 22/04/2011 10:18

smokin you and me both wi sat morning. Glad you've seen Blondes.

Laughalot 1lb is not bad at all Smile

Piste well done on sts. What sights did you see in Amsterdam?

Pretty are you still wi?

Blondes will seriously kick my ass

bebejones · 22/04/2011 10:37

Bum, I forgot to WI! Plus had 1.5 HCBs & a big bowl of fruit salad in bed this morning! (It's a bank holiday...I'm allowed! Hmm)

Off to walk to Tesco...for chocolate! Not thinking bout diet this weekend, need to kick back & enjoy Easter! :)

JaneS · 22/04/2011 11:02

Hello everyone! Love the low-carbing conversation - you lot said just what I was thinking, I was munching on delicious jacket potatoes with garlic butter last night! Grin (That's what happens when DH cooks ... and the washing up in the sink in the morning Hmm).

I've got the India Knight book, it came as a freebie with a magazine a while back. I have read some reviews of it with people saying it was a bit dodgy health-wise, does anyone know more?

I'm going to post this and then nip off to weight myself cos I forgot.

In Amsterdam we went on a dinner cruise up and down the canals on DDs birthday and it was a beautiful evening. It was a great thing to do. So we saw most of the central sights from there. The Rijksmuseum (sp) is nearly finished it's renovation so we could see it in all it's glory. We didn't go in because our DC would only have a limited enthusiasm for old masters! Then we also went to Anne franks house which was sobering and rather extraordinary. Had she lived she would be in her early eighties now. The museum is very well done and you can still go past the bookcase and up the stairs. Then Lots of walking around the canals all very beautiful, lots of food and booze plus some Van Gogh! oh yes and lots of curiosity re the "coffee shops" and DS was Shock to see a condom shaped like a carrot in a shop window!

OP posts:
JaneS · 22/04/2011 12:34

Wow, piste, I'm putting Amsterdam on my list of places to go now - that sounds lovely and (but for the carrot condom) very idyllic. Do you mind me asking, is it pricy? I've not had a holiday for years and am building up a really long list of places I want to go when we do! Grin

smokinaces · 22/04/2011 15:41

LRD, well done on the 3lb loss!!

I loved Amsterdam and did a lot of walking, canal trips, Anne Franks House etc. Also saw a few "coffee shops" too Grin Loved it, and didnt find it expensive - but I went 10 years ago!

JaneS · 22/04/2011 16:58

Thanks smokin! I feel a lot more motivated now I'm actually seeing the results.

Whew, it is farrrrr to hot today ....

smokinaces · 22/04/2011 17:01

Well not done too bad so far. Had yogurt and fruit for breakfast, a hot cross bun as a snack. Then went to a pub garden and had diet coke - but also a small hotdog and burger off the BBQ (darn those kids not eating their food!!) and then a cornetto as it was sooooooooooooooooooooooo hot. Just had philli pasta (courgette, onion, cherry tomatoes and pasta in low fat philli with herbs) for tea, which isnt bad either - over the whole day it should even out. I am so hot, and so tired I think early night tonight (though have been saying that all week and not gone to bed before 11!)

At least with weigh in tomorrow I am not tempted to snack heavily tonight which is good.

Got a BBQ pool party tomorrow - what do I take? Will hit Morrisons on the way - thinking snacky bits tbh as dont think the BBQ will hit off until 5ish when we'll be on the way. mmmmm.

JaneS · 22/04/2011 17:25

Mmm, that pasta sounds good, I should try that.

I'm rubbish with BBQ food - I love it all and want to eat it all! Blush Can you take lots of fruit to snack on, maybe? My neighbour was cooking sausages on the barbecue last weekend and it smelt so good.

bebejones · 22/04/2011 18:28

Too much BBQ! Blush Just having a spritzer now, got bananas with white choc on the BBQ but I think I might actually be too full!! Definitely carb loading, doesn't help that AF is due this week! Roll on May so I can wipe the slate clean!

Is there anything yummier than a BBQ outside in the sunshine...love it! :)

smokinaces · 22/04/2011 19:49

go Bebe with the carb loading!!

well, I think Blondes was right - I have acquired what is commonly known as a f* buddy. Wonder if I get extra points for the exercise?!! Wink

Gave in to an ice cream tonight (another one!) and a bag of crisps. (half size ones) going to be good now!

GettinTrimmer · 23/04/2011 08:10

Hi all, wi just now, sts yet again.

Can someone update for me please? our keyboard doesn't work properly

extra points Smokin, Blondes once told us it's 1 point per 15 minutes [buwink]

cutting down on carbs but not cutting them out and increasing protein has worked very well for me, Bebe I agree relaunching after easter.

LRD well done to you on 3lb busmile

We're off to SIL for the weekend, I've just got to buy ingredients first for Nigella's chocolate cheesecakes and cook those first.

Happy easter all

smokinaces · 23/04/2011 10:08

I think we've got a bit confused somewhere with the list - this one has me at 11st 7, and I was 11st 9 last week? But 2lb off this week, so back to 11st 7!

Trimmer, well done on sts - but come on girly, you are so close going into the 11s we will get you there!!
