Hi i am about the same, planning to do weight watchers on line, i am not that good at daily chat or anything but it would be good to have to tell someone when I have sinned!! what do the books you have described involve? I am fed up with diets as such and was choosing weight watchers as last time it did help but I am open to better ideas, especially ones that do not involve paying a monthly subscription.

foreverondiet · 23/02/2011 12:36

Onlywantsone - how old is your baby? I don't think the India and Neris is a great idea if EBF.

FWIW I started my diet at 5.5 months when he started on solids. I am 4 months in (I BF morning and evening for 2 more months but I couldn't sustain it - not sure if because of diet or because baby prefered bottles - he had them while I was at work in the day) and I am almost at target (was 12 5 now 9 10, want to be 9 5) - weight loss has slowed down in last month but lost first 2.5 stone pretty quickly.

Kaz62 - I did tesco diets totals plan (I guess like weightwatchers), just logged everything. There are freebie options like myfitnesspal and foodfocus which i will use once my tesco diet subs runs out.

OnlyWantsOne · 23/02/2011 13:31

DD2 is 11 weeks - I dont want to cut carbs, I just want to watch what I eat and cut portion size. I have been eating more than my 15 stone DP at dinner time Blush

Hi
I would love to join you if ok, have four stone to loose also. Am EBF DD who is 9 wks and my tummy looks look like a big jelly that wobbles on its own accord!! currently doing weight watchers old point system but im allowed 33 points which is so many its not helping me to be disciplined! Thinking of getting this new Paul Mckenna book that everyone is raving about.

Kaz62 · 23/02/2011 13:57

thanks for the tip, i have checked out the other sites and i think that i will do weightwatches for now as it worked well last time although I will go for the free websites after I have stopped exclusive bf.

OnlyWantsOne · 23/02/2011 18:07

onlywantsone india and neris book is a ketogenic (ie very low carbs) diet with no limit on portion size.

frenchfries i have the paul mckenna book, its quite good when willpower is lacking.

frenchfries22 · 23/02/2011 22:26

oh great I ordered the book today so lets see!

As far as stats go im currently 14 stone 9.5 would be ultimate goal but 10 I would be happy with. In terms of measurements seem to have a 12LB baby permanently attached to me but would be good to have a starting point so will try to do tomorrow!

OnlyWantsOne · 24/02/2011 19:46

sounds like we are the same then!!!

OP posts:
Kaz62 · 24/02/2011 20:49

sounds good, just before the weekend Grin

frenchfries22 · 24/02/2011 20:50

ok so tomorrow will be the first one? I dont have any scales so will have to weigh myself at my mums in the afternoon. Went to Pizza hut today so thats not a good start - hoping that if i am having to post my weight it will help me to stay on track for fear of not loosing any!

OnlyWantsOne · 24/02/2011 22:10

I'm not overly concerned about not poising any while I'm EBF dd2 - as I've not lost 1lb so far feeding her and watching what I eat.

All I'm going to do is try to control portions and eat healthier - while still eating properly because I'm always starving hungry. When I start to wean her then I will join WW. Good plan?

Don't think I could survive on 5 hrs broken sleep a night and feed DD2 and have no carbs and caffeine. I'd die. Fact.

OnlyWantsOne · 24/02/2011 22:12

Poising should say LOOSING

foreverondiet · 25/02/2011 08:51

onlywantsone I put on when BFing... too many cakes/ice cream if you can stick to healthy foods and stay the same weight then thats good.

I did similar - did tescodiets totals (like WW) once weaned... so think thats a good plan. It did come off at 2lb a week, so quite quick... just stuck on last 5lbs Sad.

JaxTellersOldLady · 25/02/2011 08:53

I have been doing India & Nerid IDP but am not EBF of feeding anyone actually via boob or bottle. Wink

Started 1 Feb and have lost over 10lbs already. Finding the diet easy, but I wouldnt advise it for people who are breast feeding.

OnlyWantsOne · 25/02/2011 12:57

well i weighed myself this morning was 13.7(fully clothed) so shall do proper nuddy weight and measurements later!!

OP posts:
Kaz62 · 25/02/2011 14:21

right then weighed this am post breast feed and loo Grin and come in at 13 stone 4lb, target weight on weightwatchers website is 9stone 3 but not been that weight since i was about 12 so for the sake of this group i am aiming for 10 stone. just put in points for today and and bare in mind that it was first day and trying to be careful and one over Shock, get the feeling this is not going to be easy Grin. i ate 4 chocolate bars a day when bf dc1 and weighed over 14 stone for a year, dd is 13 weeks old and i am trying to diet Hmm, i have a wedding in may that i really don't want to looked like a beached whale for! it's bad enough i am going to have to wear a top that i can breast feed in and an unwired bra!! any of you had experience of ezcema in baby's? i've just been to the dr and been laden down with lotions and potions.

frenchfries22 · 25/02/2011 16:38

ok just weighed myself fully clothed and after lunch - look at me justifying it!! I'm 13 stone 13lb which Im ok with given that I have not done my WW points for a week. Its just so easy to reach for the biscuits when breastfeeding rather than attempt to eat something decent.
No experience of ezcema I'm afraid - is it all over or localized? I have heard it could be a reaction to dairy products although I am not sure.
Hoping I can hypnotize myself with the Paul Mckenna book and change the way I view food - fingers crossed, went to an actual hypnotist when i was younger who told me there were bugs in chocolate - didnt work!

OnlyWantsOne · 25/02/2011 16:39

ive been standing ast the fridge filling my mouth with squirty cream...im grose

OP posts:
Kaz62 · 25/02/2011 19:48

it is mainly on her chest i did ask the dr about dairy as i really did not want to be told that i should cut it out to reduce presence in the bm, she said that it could be many things and not to cut anything at this stage, dh has asthma and dr said that it could be she is more prone to allergies, have used all creams in one day! poor thing but i hope it will be better soon, she was really trying to scratch it last night. i did try Paul Mckenna's old book and it did help for a bit, all that doing different things. It was before i was a mum, doing a long commute and working long hours so it was easy to listen to a different radio station etc, i think i just got fed up with listening to the same thing! I have done my points honestly today and i am 7 over now, not a very good start!!! squirty cream is great i refuse to have it in the house now as i could not open the fridge without a squirt! I feel the same about wafer thin ham, i know not many calories per slice but it adds up when you take about 10 in one go! What do you think about artificial sweetners when bf? the sugar i have in my tea is not going to help!

OnlyWantsOne · 25/02/2011 19:55

JUST CUT THE SUGAR - ooo caps again

in 1 week you wont even remember it

OP posts:
frenchfries22 · 26/02/2011 13:01

That really made me giggle with the squirty cream! I ate a whole packet of biscuits last night - why I do it to myself I don't know!
Kaz62 how many points are you allowing yourself - are you going too low and thats why you are going over? I am going to start seriously again today - even if you go over I find it does help to make me more aware of the food I am eating. Really sorry to hear your little one is suffering its horrible isn't it. Mine has a cold at the moment and is whimpering in her sleep and trying to sniff, she is having difficulty breathing as her nose is blocked so getting frustrated when feeding and crying a lot, I feel so sorry for her. How did you find her chest today after using the creams yesterday - any improvement? Hopefully at least might take the itchiness away.
