i'll give it a go, i will go down a half a tea spoon and then cold turkey next week Grin

frenchfries22 thank you for your good wishes, dd's chest is looking a lot better thanks, she slept better last night and so it must be easing up a bit. In terms of weightwatchers they have a funny new system and i realised after reading it properly that it is not such an issue if you go over a bit as they give you a load of points to use each week for this. I have put in that i am bf and they gave me a load of extra points so i think i should be ok, i am feeling a bit deprived of chocolate though!! I really hope your dc's cold gets better soon.

dairyleadunker · 01/03/2011 13:13

Hi ladies,

Hope you dont mind another addition.

i am EBF dd 16 weeks - I have put on 3 stone since ds who will be five in two weeks !!! I have been trying to lose this weight for five years and it is not budging :-(

I too can eat close to 4000cal a day and still feel hungry - devour a pack of biscuits like its nothing and crave sandwiches when late night breastfeeding.

HELP !!! I cannot be like this forever - how do I beat the cravings and lower my appetite.

foreverondiet · 01/03/2011 16:27

dairyleadunker I was the same when EBF, I was starving no matter how much I ate, even as you say huge amounts of cake, biscuits & ice-cream, I am sure I was also eating around 4000 calories a day. I decided to wait until DS2 was weaned, and I have almost lost all the weight, now down to last 3lbs! (almost 3 stone) - it has taken almost 5 months although lost the first 2 stone very quickly (3 months). Personally I decided that whilst EBF would rather be fat and not starving, and that the diet could wait. I was always planning to stop at 6 months, so waiting a bit didn't manage. My target was to loose the weight by DS2's first birthday, which is now 6 weeks away, I'm confident that I'll reach the target.

Kaz62 · 01/03/2011 19:26

I am with you on the cravings!!! somehow fruit and veg don't fill the whole that says 'chocolate'. I would wait but I breastfed for over a year with dc1 and will do the same again so i need to do something about it before that time. i am hoping the way to beat the cravings is to moan about them on Mum's net Grin i am also hoping that the first few weeks are the hardest and what i am suffering at the moment is a withdrawal from sugar Hmm

frenchfries22 · 02/03/2011 16:00

Breastfeeding should come with a cravings warning! Its so hard to not eat sugar and chocolate! Actually its any food I find, I am eating more than DH. I got my Paul Mckenna book through today - it all seems to make perfect sense but only day one so lets see. I have signed up for a the race for life in July so need to be able to do 5K by then. Did my first walk today so hopefully that will help with the weight. I would love to wait until finishing BF but with only one pair of jeans that fit somehow I need to drop some pounds.
foreveronadiet congratulations on nearing your target thats awesome and inspiration for us all!!

foreverondiet · 02/03/2011 20:13

frenchfries22 I agree about the cravings warnings, although this was DC3 so I knew what to expect. I stopped at 6 months each time, both as going back to work but also couldn't bear to be fat (and beholden to cravings) any longer. I actually put on weight when feeding.

re: the running. It doesn't take that long, I am training for triathlon (June) I think I could manage 5km run by mid December, so eight weeks. But I wasn't in a rush to do it, probably could have got there quicker. I am doing race for life as well in July (Alexandra Palace, London) plus have signed up for 5km run in May.

re: jeans, I went to a cheapie shop and bought 2 pairs of tracksuit trousers and lived in them!

Kaz62 · 04/03/2011 12:58

hi it's weigh day i guess Grin i've lost three pounds so weightwatchers is so far doing the trick but i have found it challenging and have been a grump but dh seems to be coping so far Grin. have to say not lost such a large amount in one week since i did cabbage soup Grin so maybe bf makes it easier to lose the weight in some ways.

frenchfries22 · 04/03/2011 16:23

Oh dear very grumpy as just weighed myself and have put on weight! Why I am suprised I dont know as I have not exactly been good but now very annoyed at myself.
Congratulations Kaz62 you show it can be done and its motivating to read. Are you doing weight watchers on line or going to meetings? Was trying to do alone but now think I will sign up on line again in a bid to keep it up.
foreveronadiet a triathalon and 3 kids are you super woman in disguise!! been doing lots of walking this week and aiming to do 5k at least twice a week, eventually building up to a jog, got a dodgy front wheel on my buggy at the moment though so no way I could jog with it even if I was ready to. Funny how you buy an offroader but when you do precisley that the wheels give in. Off to sign up to do the new pro points and attempt to hypnotise myself again!

foreverondiet · 04/03/2011 16:30

frenchfries no not superwoman, so far all training has been at gym. DD and DS1 at school and DS2 goes to the creche - I work Mon, Tues and Thurs so he goes to creche on Wed and Fri morning, and DH looks after them all on Sunday morning when I have my 3rd gym session of the week. I also try to shred in the evening but don't manage every night.

Anyway today was 9s 5.6lbs, so only 0.6lbs from target. It will be 5 months on Tuesday since I started the diet so would be fab to loose the last 0.6lb by then (was 12 5 at start). I really don't want to put it back on so will be very careful for the next few months.

It terms of body shape - well tummy is flat and not saggy (although not defined either), thighs/bum still have some fat on them, and breasts almost disappeared.

Kaz62 · 04/03/2011 20:45

frenchfries22 I am doing weightwatchers on line and have promised myself that I would be honest (last time i lied Blush), and that did not help me at all Grin. I am not able to do meetings at the moment as dc2 not really in any kind of bf routine and have not given her a bottle of ebm yet. I did both with dc1 and nearly drove myself nuts Grin. Given that it was the first week it went well although I was suprised about how much less I ate. I am hoping the 24 hour hunger will get less other wise it is going to be tough to keep this up Smile. I know that without weightwatches I would eat lots without really realising it so go for it and let me know how Paul goes. I am also seriously impressed with foreveronadiet, seems that pretty soon you're going to have to change your name Grin.
