Hi all

I wondered if anyone else was planning to follow Paul mckenna this year and lose their weight?

im currently 16st13 and intend to end the year a fit toned 10st. im a bit hit and miss with following the golden rules but when i do i have seen results so from today i will follow it and get the results i want.

as well as the weight loss with paul mckenna i intend to

Beardo the just dance 2 fitness thing every day till my husband (RAF) flies out to the middle east around april

Bear do the couch to 5k plan and run race for life this year

Bearstart the 30 day shred when dh goes away and repeat it till he comes home (approx 4 months)

I also have one of those magic leg trainers coming on home approval so will have a play with that and see if its worth keping, apart from that i will reassess my fitness in august when he gets home and come to some decisions on how to go forward with that then but for now these seem like reasonable goals, especially when they're on top of really following the golden rules.

so anyone else following 'the rules' this year and going to join me with their aims?

the book for anyone curious about it, though i got mine from my local works type bookshop for less than £5 thats less than one weeks ww/sw/etc subs to try it out and its honestly the most sensible weightloss plan ive ever looked at

"right now, can i please have a virtual kick up the bum, im not concentrating, im not eating slowly and im not stopping when im full but i am driving myself up the wall. I dont quite know why its what ive done every time ive ever tried to lose weight, i get a good start under my belt and then i stop paying attention and just gain it all back, i cant do that this time, i have to get it off so im trying to get my head back into it today." (tomorrow for me)

This is exactly how I've been for two weeks and I don't know why. Has made me feel down about myself as I had lost a stone ~ but then it was a it like switching the motor off; I had lost a stone, so it was Ok to be bloody stupid :( Have not put on bundles, just about 2lbs, but I don't want that 2lbs to turn into 4...so...kick away please!

Right Solo - back to basics. Are you listening to the CD daily? Are you eating what you really want? Have you set a goal and focused on it every single day.

When you wake up in the morning, take a few minutes to just step into an image of you at your ideal weight. Keep your eyes shut and do the visualisation.

Do not give up. You are probably finding it harder because you've lost the easy first stone and the rest takes a little longer. Slow your eating right down. Sip of water between mouthfuls helps.

WMMC, I haven't actually got the disc yet...waiting for the freebie seminar.

Trouble is, I've had the munchies which I usually get when due on, but I had two AF's within a couple of weeks between Dec and Jan and since then nothing...think I'm hormonal/peri menopausal and it's knawing at my munchy cravings ~ which are anything naughty...

I'm not giving up. I spent last summer in jeans and wearing a long, heavy, knitted, hooded cotton cardi to cover my fat bum and bloody well sweltered the whole time. I. Do. Not. Want. To. Repeat. That. Again! :(

solo · 02/02/2011 18:37

Doesn't PM say we shouldn't eat and drink at the same time or is that alcoholic drinks?

FGM · 02/02/2011 18:54

Had good first half of day and made sensible choices.
Crashed out from tiredness and probably made some bad choices this afternoon. Mercifully DH has come home early so he is now putting the DDs to bed and I am off for a bath and early bed.

whomovedmychocolate · 02/02/2011 20:25

Alcoholic drinks. :)

Solo - seminar discs are different to the book discs. There are five of them. I have them already as it happens and they are better.

UrsulaBuffay · 02/02/2011 20:40

Where do we stand on having a brew? I have about 3-4 cups of tea a day, do drink water & sugar free squash too. Is that ok? I'm thirsty!

whomovedmychocolate · 02/02/2011 20:56

Yes the more fluids the better, your brain is 90% water, if you don't drink enough your thoughts will be crusty Wink

solo · 02/02/2011 21:18

Did you mean the seminar ones are etter whomoved? is it worth me buying the Tesco ones? bearing in mind that pennies are short.

solo · 02/02/2011 21:19

better

UrsulaBuffay · 02/02/2011 21:19

Hehe they're definitely that sometimes. I suppose it's my 'diet brain' saying I should be limiting my milky brews :)

solo · 02/02/2011 21:22

I drink a lot of tea too UB ~ decaff of course! :)

UrsulaBuffay · 02/02/2011 21:32

Mine's not, I know caffeine is bad when trying to lose weight but I am a northerner I need real tea!

solo · 02/02/2011 21:36

Grin I'm half a northerner UB!!! on my 'Mam's' side.

UrsulaBuffay · 02/02/2011 21:44

Maybe you should be on half caff then? :)

Curiousmama · 02/02/2011 21:46

Oooo I'm half northerner and half scottish Wink

Why's caffeine bad?

Don't think I've lost any weight? I haven't weighed myself for over a week but just feel as heavy.

whomovedmychocolate · 02/02/2011 21:47

Solo - the seminar ones are more comprehensive -they cover more areas. I wouldn't bother myself. Sorry.

I live on decaf coffee myself Ursula. I quite caffeine about a month ago. Decaf tea is surprisingly nice too.

Curiousmama · 02/02/2011 21:52

Great bargain nikki I'll be going into Tescos see if they have one for me?

blinder · 02/02/2011 22:03

WMMC you're right! My brain IS clever!

Actually, I was half expecting to fail so your reminder that brains are geniuses is very helpful and timely.

I can't wait to get my hands on those seminar disks. Two and a half weeks woo hoo!!

I'm bit really obeying the rules until the seminar. Im saving myself Grin! I'd like an epiphany please!

blinder · 02/02/2011 22:04

*not really obeying the rules I mean

whomovedmychocolate · 02/02/2011 22:07

Here's your epithany - sadly in two and a half weeks you will not reach your goal weight. Unless you cut off your legs. However, that's two and a half weeks closer to your goal you could be if you stick with the plan.

Come on woman. You know that it is silly and childish to prevaricate. Your health and your happiness demand you get going now, not in a fortnight.

Incidentally you are perfectly entitled to call me a harridan - I won't be offended, you can even do it at the seminar if you like. But you know I'm right. :)

whomovedmychocolate · 02/02/2011 22:08

Curiousmama - I'm a quarter welsh, a quarter American and half Midlander. How fucked up do you think my palate is? Grin

solo · 02/02/2011 22:12

Ok, thanks! :)
Caffeine is not good for you because...I can't remember! I've been a decaff drinker for about 7/8 years. I cut it out when I went on a detox type diet (fat flush), along with salt and a number of other things that I wouldn't go back to regardless of my eating habits.

whomovedmychocolate · 02/02/2011 22:14

Caffeine depletes iron supplies and impedes the absorption of minerals from food. Also it can cause dehydration, agitation, poor sleep, confusion. etc.
