Wynken broke the other thread!

Have been so busy at work, only in the door a few minutes. Haven't eaten yet, but weirdly not hungry.
Must have something otherwise will suddenly get ravenous.
Looks like everyone is doing ok though.
Am actually looking at Shred DVD (Still in its cellophane wrapping!)but too wrecked to start doing it today.

thanks wynken.

have WW cookbooks out tonight as I need to reign in both food consumption and budget. Haven't given a stuff this week which is Blush. i am back where I was 12 months ago more or lessSadBlush Will old WW stuff (recipes especially) still be relevant? may well sign up for free trial (but not tonightWink), and may work out if I can justify a class - so you get enough info in the first week to follow it?

hope you are all OK

love Gu Fru puds (lemon cheesecake, yum...), have a chocolate torte thingy, but it need baking, so we don't seem to get round to eating it. Nearly have enough ramekins for a HUGE dinner party Wink

DS's have friends round for tea tomorrow (I have 3 boys - 13, 6 and 3, plus the 2 friends - 11 and 6) Have bought 6 pizzas, 3 garlic breads, and potato wedges! Can't wait to see what is left (eldest guest seems to have hollow legs and I never manage to cook enough spaghetti when he is hereShock, his brother eats nothing) Also have wine in stock for copingWink

Mostly marking my place ... but also recording that I have ... horrors ... put on 3lb in 3 days. I went away with work and just threw caution to the wind.

I'm going out for lunch (and drinks) tomorrow, and then I'm going to have to get seriously back on track, and hope that perhaps I won't take the ENTIRE 3lb gain to weigh-in on Tuesday.

DCMB, don't panic, stay calm and carry on. Some of it is probably water, Being a bit dehydrated makes you retain water and personally so do refined csarbs. It is unjlikely you ate 8,400 extra calories which is what 3lb of fat is. Frittata's help me can easily stick huge amounts of veg in and then serve with a salad

Dontcallme, upsy is speaking wise words, panic not.

Ria, you'll need to convert your recipes. There's a recipe builder on the site where you bash it in and it works it out for you.

Melty there aren't any half points so you get quite a few cases like that. 1 weetabix is 2 but 2 are 3 points.

Went to party tea for DD's friend last night and my heart sunk looking at the table. Sausages, wedges, onion rings, chicken balls, breaded mushrooms, full fat potato salad and coleslaw then a tiny bit of salad. Other friend stuck as much salad in my plate as she could without being obvious then asked for just a tiny piece of cheesecake so I could say the same. Went over my daily points by loads but I guess that is what weekly points are for so. Goodness knows what that would have worked out in syns.

Am missing the ease of Extra Easy though, all this counting is quite hard work but am going to do a full week in WW to see. Pizza hut on Saturday for part 2 of birthday but that is easier to accomodate.

Have a good time tonight Lulu. I'd go with the craving and use syns for chocolate every day plus some low cal hot choc maybe?

wynken that is so nice of your friend. mine would stuff mine full of crap and then nick it all.
I love all the counting, but then I am a liost person.
You can still use all your recipe books, thing is everything will need re poimnting but not to hard to do. I would recommend going to one meeting to get all the bumf.
DCMB they are right you can't have put on that much get back on track.ome off again.
Ria try the washing up lliquid over left overs before you get chance to eat them, and enjoy the wine.
I only get 29 points, mind you I have eaten them all yet. lost 2 lbs since tuesday according to the wii by that standard I could have lost half a stone by next tuesday (day dreams). 3lbs to a stone now, very excitied, think I had a blip for a few weeks and am now back to losing,
We have b een doing this for 10 weeks, I have lost 11lbs in total, so overall a pound a week is a really good sensi ble loss, would like the average to be 2lb a week but will see what the new plan brings.

Ria at my WW meeting they were passing round a leaflet that converted the points in one of their cookbooks (something and filling??), I didn't get one but if you need it I'll ask next time and scan it for you. Didn't mention any other books though.

Went to M&S yesterday and got their meal for 2,we had chicken gratin and wedges with french beans (keeping the pud and wine for weekend), it felt really sinful but was 11 points. I pointed a prawn risotto for tonight, if made with 200g arborio its 15, but that makes loads. I have the new shopping and eating out books if anyone needs to know points quickly Grin

I would have liked the deluxe kit but didn't have enough cash and they don't take cards. It looks really good as its got the calculator and a couple of other bits. I need one as takes all the faff away if you are out so you don't have to use that evil wheel.

Dita, she is lovely. Really supportive of me losing weight and always says I'm looking thinner bless her. She lost 4 stone on WW after her 2nd child so knows what it is like. She took one look at the food on the table last night and rolled her eyes which nearly gave me the giggles! 2lbs off is very very encouraging, well done. I'd love to average 2lbs a week too but my body is having none of it!

I think they have done the pps for the 3 most recent WW books, there is a list somewhere on the net, will try to find a link later.

Have bought pizza bases and am going to make ham and pineapple pizza for tea tonight minus the cheese. Wonder what we'll all think of WW in a weeks time, be interesting to see if we're desperate to get back to free foods or not.

As an I counted points yesterday while doing my EE day. (Which was mainly red anyway)
I don't think I will follow the WW plan.

For starters I am not eating any differently. I have been adding the points of my various days menus, and I am well inside and seem to have leftover points. (5 yesterday) (Even though I am including 4 for the chocolate roll-I counted it as a Cadburys chocoloate roll 26g because I couldnt find GU and didnt have the nutritional info)
It seems to be more (to me) aggravation with all the counting.

The only thing seems to be if you do exercise, they allow you more points depending on the time and intensity of it.

What is good is you have to think about everything you eat by counting the points. And with SW, it is easy to forget unless you are religious about writing things down. WW encourages portion control whereas SW might not be so good if you are a bit of a binge/comfort eater (Confess Blush )

However I have found that my portions have beeng getting smaller anyway. I think my brain may be gettting the message.... Yesterday I couldnt finish my lunch so I left half behind.
I think for me, the fact that you have to weigh the meat portions would scream "deprived" to my (clearly bonkers) subconscious and I might over eat anyway, but that's just me.

The other thing with WW is you could easly slip into bad eating habits again by having the sort of food that caused the weight gain in the first place and just pointing it until the points run out. And before you know it you are back where you started.

By the way I come with this point of view as someone who has never masnaged to change my eating habits successfully.
I hope this will be the last time. Smile

So I am going to cancel my WW free membership befire they sting me for any cash.

Agree with a lot of that Melty. My portion size has definitely decreased in the last 16 weeks. I'm doing this as next weigh in is my week where I don't lose whatever I do on SW so I'm curious to see if the result is different on WW.

DontCallMeBaby · 12/11/2010 09:22

Thanks Upsy, Wynken, Dita ... you're right, I really don't think I ate an extra 8,400 calories (DH has suggested I may have drunk that much, but I've done the sums and it's 'only' 1,400 calories in alcohol alone). I will have done 300 or so calories less exercise though, as I did NONE (the pool was in a separate building, so I didn't go, which is daft as where I normally go swimming the car park is just as far from the pool ...)

I think it could have been worse, in terms of what I ate, as I do seem to have adjusted to smaller food expectations - I didn't actually eat my bodyweight in Bourbon biscuits during the tea breaks, for instance.

Melty, I know what you mean about bad habits. I needed to change groups anyway so whether or not I stick with WW or go back to SW I will still get weighed at the WW group as its a better time for me (and there were bitches in my SW group!) I need the threat of a weigh-in to keep it up. DP wants to give WW a good go so I got the books.

I've had enough, am obsessing about points and just desperate to tuck into a jacket spud and cottage cheese plus salad without having to worry about the weight of my spud. So am back on SW as of today. Had terrible day SW wise yesterday but will just have to draw a line under it.

Oh DCMB, lol at you not eating your body weight in Bourbons. I cant even imagine what a (my) bodyweight pile of Bourbons would look like. I'd never find my way to the door!
I am completely sure you haven't really put on 3lbs. Thats at least a full bladder, and a poo.
I think you'll be ok next week.

Kungfu, I really think apart from obsessing about the size of the meat/carbs you will probably be eating the same stuff anyway.
And if the group are nicer, then so much the better.
I'm sure you'll be fine Lulu, and surely you can have more than a salad and still be eating ok?
Have a nice night anyway.

Oh Riven,
are you feeling ill or did you have a bad night with your DD?

Pasta is easy too. just bung some chopped tomatoes in and away you go. Filing too.
And get your DH to pick up fruit on his way home from work. So you dont undo your week completely.
