Wynken broke the other thread!

Have been so busy at work, only in the door a few minutes. Haven't eaten yet, but weirdly not hungry.
Must have something otherwise will suddenly get ravenous.
Looks like everyone is doing ok though.
Am actually looking at Shred DVD (Still in its cellophane wrapping!)but too wrecked to start doing it today.

Melty my two favourite pairs of jeans are from Gap and Boden (MN cliche alert). The Boden ones were 1/2 price in a sale which took them down to a very reasonable £24.50, they're straightcut which is way more flattering on me than skinny. The Gap ones are their Curvy cut.

I'm going to try to get to a zumba class next week. Always reassuring to be able to check out some pictures and videos to prove my mate IS telling the truth, everyone really isn't superfit (except the instructor, but then when you look at her schedule of classes it's hardly surprising). I just need to see if friend will give me a lift, as while it's convenient that I'd be doing it while DH and DD are heading home from swimming, that does mean I have no car ... kind of a shame it clashes in a way, cos she lets kids do this class!

Lot of jumping about in those videos though ...

I'm very proud of myself tonight. I just ate a chicken stir fry, packed full of veg and some noodles while dh and ds were scoffing pizza and cheesy chips from the takeaway. I didn't even have a tiny bit :o:o. That has never happened before :o.

Melty, I've been getting cheap jeans too while losing, found the Matalan bootcut ones good, high in the rise, good for muffin top disguise! Different available lengths too.

Maintained last 2 weeks doing EE, need to get back on Success Express really. Lost 3 pounds the week I did it. Got the Shred DVD and love it, been doing it most days, and hope to go running tomorrow. Need to lose 2.5 lbs for my 10%.

Great you're in the 'zone' Phoenix! :)

Been doing lots of soups and lentil dishes- work well for baby DD (9mths) too! I just add extra cheese, full fat yog or bit olive oil to her portion. Really hard not to finish up her leftovers though, especially lovely full fat organic yog, tastes sooo good after years of eating mullers!!

My SIl swears by the gap super curvy jeans. I am going to have to have a wardrobe sort out at some point soon as I bet I have clothes in there that actually fit me now.
really do need to stop the daily weighing, had lost 3lbs over the course of this week, according to the wii this morning I have put it all back on, I did have a few snacks as I was really hungry yesterday but I counted every single one.
Going out for sunday lunch today with my parents. Tried to pro point a normal sunday lunch, I reckon it is 10pp without roasties, roasies are 4pp each, think I can live without for that.
Decided I am going to earn my lunch, it is in a pub in a village 4.5 miles away, so I am going to walk there with the dog and dh and dd's going to meet me there. I reckon it should take 2 hours earning me 10pp or paying for my dinner.
I want some walking boots for xmas friom dh so going to look this morning, anyone know of good ones I have no ikdea they all look the same to me. We used to love walking before dc but they never want to go for a walk so I always end up taking the dog in the park opposite.

Dita I have these walking boots. I have to admit I have not walked as much in them as I should have, but they've caused me no bother. I bought them after my old ones self-destructed, and took advice online about them, got a LOT of recommendations for the Brasher brand. The ones I've got look pretty old-school, and are heavy, but they do have more modern, trainer-y and lighter designs. Expensive, but I do expect them to last and last.

Morning everyone:)
melty got your pm but am unable to open it on home computer so will have to wait till I get to work tomorrow and print pages off:(
Starting full on tomorrow so have decided that for breakfast I will make an omellete with tomatoes, mushrooms, onion which should hopefully start me off right.
Anyone any ideas for lunch because want to get ingredients in today? I work full time so it would either have to be something quick at dinner time at home or something I can take to work?

Melty · 14/11/2010 12:12

Ah, you need to download adobe reader. Have you got it? (Its free) but otherwise you can't read PDF files.

If you are not having cereal for breakfast, you can have a really fat sandwich. 2 wholemeal slices (it says over 57g has to be synned, but it also says if you buy a sandwich out, then have wholemeal as HE and syn the other synnable fillings.
So chicken or ham with baby tomatoes and rocket.

Can you reheat stuff at work?
If so there are literally LOADS of recipes on www.slimmingeats.com
The nasi goreng is a fave of mine.

Free soup, automatically gets your superfree veggies in. Leek and potato easy to make... You could put it in a flask if you have one and dont have reheating facilities.

Pasta and rice dishes can be nice cold but I think its too cold generally to be eating cold food!
Get plenty of fresh fruit in. I buy the Tesco Royal Gala bags of apples, theyre not too big so will have a couple in the morning. And manadrins/clementines. Muller lite youghurts. The Cherry one is quite lush.

If you had made an oil based cake with banana and pinneapple in , would you syn it as muffins. Only having a little piece, even if iced with quark vannilla essence and icing sugar. Toddler has decorated, so now bling tastic , less is more is not concept he understands

Am finding myself better off with a little of what you fancy, as long as good quality, ie 20g bar of decent dark chocolate, home made biscuits. The littlest one is mummie's in this house. Plus ds1 loves cooking. Won't do pizza again though, one mini base was 11syns.

Hi everyone, still plugging away at pro-points. I'm quite enjoying it actually, I usually have a gain over the weekend then things level off after but I haven't had that this week despite eating more bread. We are having a chinese tonight which I have pointed and I haven't had to dip into my weekly points yet Smile

let us know how you get on with that

Anyone know how many syns in dried pomegranate seeds? can't find it on the website etc.. x

Report
Melty · 14/11/2010 18:24

Well fresh are free.
How much are you using?
If its only a small amount, I wouldn't get too excited about them.

The only reason SW syn dried fruit is because its so easy to eat too much when its dried out, and the calories and sugar content are much higer compared to the fresh stuff.

If its only the equivalent of a cupful inthe whole recipe
then I suspect its not many syns per portion.

So the JEANS.

Well I went to Gap, armed with a 30% off voucher. Hah. Do you think there would be a pair of jeans in the whole shop that would fit me?
No.
They didnt have curvy jeans.
I tried on a pair of Curvy slacks, but the rise was too short. The waist of them, which was supposed to be just under my waist, actually stopped across the widest part of my hips. So an 18 were about 2 inches too tight!
I have a long body...and clearly a very odd shaoed one.

So I tried to ignore all the racks of skinny jeans, and straight jeans and went for the bootcut stretch.
34 32 was too tight, and gave me a muffin top.
Boyfriend 36 34 were too big.
Two other types of bootcut didnt come in 36 in that shop.
Undaunted I popped into Fat Face and tried on 2 styles in 16 and 18. 18s way too big. 16s too snug and had camel toe side effects.
They didnt have 16 long in either of those styles. The 18 long was just right in the body but too big everywhere.
Then did M&S they have high waisted bootcut for £12. 18s massive on bum and hips. 16s perfect on hips and bum but although they closed, I had huge overflow in the bellybutton area.
I really am like Hunpty Dumpty.

Shopping at mo a nightmare, asda £4 jeans were ok but too big now. My dear mother who is now competitively dieting ( but won't look at the books, or listen to my Sw is great spiel, instead preferring to comment on my portion size! whole other thread my mother really) suits next, fits well in Next. She is only a couple of inches difference btwn hips and waist, whereas I am at least ten inches bigger round my hips. O for the days when size11 falmer fit me perfectly( disclaimer it was the 80s and I was a fickle teenager who looked awful in the saved up for 501s)

Upsy, maybe we could swap notes about mothers and diets, mine is struggling to sound pleased when I lose any weight as it blows a hole in her 'it's our genes' theory.

No idea on the jeans I'm afraid as have been given jeans in the next size down and haven't had to shop. Am currently wearing Next size 18 jeans which are pretty flattering.

I have put Thur and Friday behind me and am back on plan, though have eaten loads of free food . Went to Pizza hut yesterday and had chicken and bacon salad, no dressing and took the sodding breadcrumbs off the chicken. It's my sts/gain week and I think my 2 day binge will put paid to a sts, but worse things happen at see and all that.

Glad its not just me!
The jeans that fitted me really well ages ago were tesco ones but they got worn out and I cant remember what style they were. I am sure that whatever they were they dont make them any more!

My mother was always heavier than me,until the last couple of years and she takes great delight in telling me how big my bum looks if she is going up the stairs behind me. (wont be making that mistake again!)

ah. mothersWink mine is OK, but has recently slimmed down to 10 stone (or some other ungodly weight, and only from maybe nearly 11st) and is still dropping without trying, and can't find clothes to fit!!! my older sister on the other hand...Biscuit

had a fab day yesterday on old-style WW. Lovely soup that I think would be free on SW? (lentils, sweet potato and squash. yum) I was even 6 points underShock, and busy decorting, so lots of bonus burning off I hope.

Conversely, sorting my relationship with food out now, so my kids don't see me on a sucession of weird diets, cambridge anyone and grow up realising you don't have to clear your plate, put butter on veg is one of my big motivators, so I guess my mum is motivating me after all. Took me a few weeks to work out I want to overeat after seeing her and many years to work out I was vegetarian mainly to annoy her ( and impress morriesy if he dropped by looking for a date

I agree about the weird diets upsy, though there's no guarantee what kids do and don't pick up! My parents always had sensible attitudes to food, no constant raiding of the biscuit tin, two at a time with permission ... yet I've turned out a complete glutton. But although DD knows I'm 'on a diet' what she is seeing isn't meal replacements and whatnot, she's seeing me eat sensible meals with vegetables, snacking on fruit, and saying 'no thank you' when daddy buys the cakes after the Saturday morning fry-up. DH isn't snacking as much or as unhealthily now, so hopefully the image of him following up a meal and a pudding with a couple of chocolate bars on the sofa hasn't become too engrained yet.

Morning everyone. I had more than intended with the chinese last night and though I'd blown all those extra weekly points but when I totted it all up this morning it wasn't as bad as I thought. I'm not going to use any more weekly points this week though. WI on Thursday will tell Hmm On the jeans front I've been buying sainsburys TU bootcut as the rise is good on me and they are cheap!

When I looked in the mirror this morning there were definitely clavicles, yay! Grin

Hi again ladies, I posted on the old thread a couple of weeks ago.

I'd only 10lbs to lose and had started a new SW campaign only to find the weight loss SO much more difficult this time.

Not sure if it's because I'm menopausal or simply because I haven't a huge amount to lose.

Lost 6 of the 10 then started putting them back on again.

To tell the truth, the group I go to isn't inspiring. We only have a temporary consultant and I'm guessing only a third of the membership stays to the class - so probably only about 10 of us max.

Do any of you wish the classes wouldn't focus so much on FOOD? I need something on the psychology of slimming!

The other thing is, this week, I have switched from Extra Easy to just doing the Green Plan, as I always did in the past.

I get weighed tonight so will let you know how I have done; gut feeling is that I have got back on track and done okay.

Anyone else switched to Green?

Good luck to you all this week!
