I have been being good (although had pasta last night) but feel like a fat bloater today . Am wearing a shirt that is rather too clingy and feel all too conscious of spare tyres of flab bulging out. Bleeurrghh!!!

ernest · 25/09/2005 15:14

well I'm now 62.5, so half a kilo since Friday. Very pleased, but unfortunately dh took us to very posh restaurant with hge unlimitted buffet for lunch, so think I've undone myself somehow. Jeans feel extremely tight I must say

dizzy34 · 25/09/2005 18:25

I was really good all weekend and then tonight i had some homemade cake at my mums house. i feel fat now

MascaraOHara · 27/09/2005 08:47

Hey guys it's weigh day..

I've been really busy this week and really bad, after losing 3lb and jumping around all over the place between 10.8 and 10.5 today I am ...

10.8 AGAIN! bl00dy hell! it's so unfair.

I think it was QofQ who said that she's weighing in lbs to see the weight coming off better - I have decided that I am going to see if I can switch mine

lilmisshappy · 27/09/2005 11:21

I have only lost 1lb this week and am now 10st2. I suppose it's better than nothing!

Mascara - if you have already been 10st5 last week, I'm sure those few pounds will come off really quickly this week. Could be a little water retention or something.

motherpeculiar · 27/09/2005 11:29

I'm the same as last week, 10st 3lb. Not surprised I didn't lose anything really as I have been eating like it is going out of fashion, and we had guests in the house since last wednesday which always means I eat/drink more (esp alcohol )

back on the dry again now and hoping to shift something by next week

still don't believe my scales though. any opinions on whether digital are better (than my crap 4.99 tesco ones? bound to be I guess!!!)

ernest · 27/09/2005 11:53

I'm 62.4, only .1 of a kilo down since Sunday. That's a joke when you consider how strict I've been. A (barely noticable) move in the right direction, but I feel demoralised.

I seem to be loosing .5 kilo a week on average and yet am working really hard at this. What do you have to do to loose more. I really couldn't eat any less and am going running for half an hour 3 times a week.

MascaraOHara · 27/09/2005 12:13

Ernest - running will be building muscle, muscle is heavier than fat - if you're exercising well don't expect to loose too much weight.. although your figure and muscle tone will improve it is quite possible that your weight will stay relatively stable - well done you!

ta moh. keep telling myself this but started running about 3 months ago & the kids have just taken to calling me 'mummy big bum', so clearly not much toning going on yet!

just more conscious of it as sil visiting next week (spoke to her yesterday & she was moaning that her clothe) were all feeling really tight after putting on 1.5 kilos on holiday, bringing her up to a whopping 51 kilos - that's just touching 8 stones!

Then the week after her mum, my lovely mil is coming to stay & she always makes cloaked comments about my weight & buys my big slopping jogging bottoms & stuff for Christmas & right next to me present sil with skimpy black lacey stuff!

So I must loose at least 5 kilos by next week! Or put up with the humiliation. Still I have got 3 gorgeous kids to show for it. My consolation.

QueenOfQuotes · 27/09/2005 12:37
  • weighed myself this morning, and have put on nearly 2lb - I'm no 130.8lbs....so heavier than when we startd this
ernest · 27/09/2005 14:44

taht's really disheartening, qoq, can you see why or is it one of those frustrating impossible weight loss nightmares? either way, a pita.

ja9 · 27/09/2005 20:58

i lost 2 pounds this week, bringing me down to 10st 3lbs. i'm still breastfeeding, so thats undoubtedly helping my weight loss. pleased tho'. aiming to be 10st by 8 oct (have a special dinner to go to with a fancy frock and all!)so thats 3lbs in the next week and a half...

keep going everyone else. don't lose heart

chicagomum · 28/09/2005 22:20

forgot about yesterday anyway have lost 1 pound ,having had no chocolate all week and (hardest of all) no crisps

ja9 · 29/09/2005 08:15

well done chicagomum. no crisps is a BIG achievement in my eyes.

tobysmommy · 29/09/2005 08:22

Hello, I have just been reading this as having weighed myself after noticing that all my clothes are tight, I realised that I am now the same weight as I was just before I gave birth to my son over two years ago. I live in Mallorca and therefore spend most weekend wearing hardly anything on the beach and now as the weather is getting cooler, the clothes that I was wearing last winter are too small.
I am 5ft 7in and weigh 67,700kg (approx 10st 8).

I have never joines a discussion before and so hope I haven´´t bored you all, I am glad I am not the only one fighting off the "baby fat"

tobysmommy · 29/09/2005 09:35

Sorry, I forgot to say that I also aim to lose 1lb a week. I have never been on a diet before and hope that by just cutting out the crap and cutting down on the red wine I can do it !!!

I hope to be able to lose a stone by Xmas as when when I go back to the UK there will be loads of people I haven´t seen for ages .... I can´t live in my joggers - even though they are the only comfortable things I have at the moment !

ernest · 29/09/2005 15:57

i toby'smum - yep - that good ol' baby weight. My deadline for 7 kilos is exactly 7 weeks' time - my ds's 2nd b'day. Good luck. It's the cooler weather + ds's b'day is what's spurred me on.

I've been moaning about my weight & pretending to loose it, ie believing I was being good, but not actually seeing any results. It was when I realised I was exactly the same weight this time last year I felt so p**d off - what a waste of mental energy.

Have any of you heard of the fibre diet from Holland & Barret. Basically they're just fibre tablets, so you take 3 or so with big glass of water before eating & you don't eat so much. Magic. I guess my problem is I'm a greedy fat pig, so this has been a godsend. It's really worked for me - I'd recommend it to anyone who tends to over-eat, always feel hungry, finds it hard to limit protion size. After about 4 weeks of taking these my appetite is magically reduced, so even without the tablets I no longer feel hungry and am eating a lot less, and guess what - after a year I'm finally starting to loose that weight!

Come one everybody - we can do it!

ScrewballMuppet · 01/10/2005 08:11

I'm finally 8st 7lb, just another few pounds and I'll be at my target weight, not sure were are loosingit from as clothes still on the tight side...perhaps they've shrunk int he wash..thats it they've shrunk couldn't possibly be my scales

ernest · 04/10/2005 08:46

no one else up yet? I'm 61.6 this am so down just .8 of a kilo. still a nudge in right direction. good luck rest of you

MascaraOHara · 04/10/2005 12:43

Hi guys - I forgot to weigh myself this morning as I was rushing around. Promise I will report in tomorrow. Doubt I've lost this week though!!! bum, I thought 1lb per week would be easy

OP posts:
chicagomum · 05/10/2005 19:12

Lost 2lbs this week. Hope I can keep it up. Currently doing loads of walking as we have no car. Will have to ensure I continue to do it when we return to UK at the end of the month and get the car back

motherpeculiar · 06/10/2005 08:05

forgot to weigh until this am. my crazy scales say 10st, ie lost 3lbs. not quite sure how as i ate 3 of dd's homemade muffins yesterday. have laid off the booze big time tho' (god, must have been a bigger drinker than I thought ) also breastfeeding lots, sleeping little and doing huge amount of running around after berserk 3 year old. now what catchy little title could i give this particular "diet" in order to cash in and give up work?????

keep it up everyone

tobysmommy · 06/10/2005 08:16

Hi there, didn´t have time to weigh myself on my usual scales in the supermarket and so had to resort to my ancient bathroom scales this morning ...... nightmare, from what I can see not a gram has been lost, I know I have still had a couple of glasses of wine but I have walked a couple of miles each day to collect my son from nursery, I thought I was being so good, still never mind, Í´ll have to try harder this week, although a big fat pie and potato wedges last night wont have helped the cause much. Trust me to have a husband that craves british food !!! Well done to everyone that has actually lost weight this week, let´s hope I can do better this week !!

ja9 · 06/10/2005 20:13

well, i didnt post on tuesday, weigh in day, because i was in a huff. i put on 1 pound this week

While that might not sound like a big deal, the annoying thing is that be saturday i had lost 2lbs (and so was just was 1 lb off a total weight loss of a stone so far)and then had a chinese meal (when i tried to pick a healthy choice) and a few glasses of wine, and as a result i put 3 lbs on!!!! Also, i did quite a bit of walking last week . i am so and , and its my special do on sat night .

hmmph.
