Never mind MOH - the trick is to not feel too guilty about it, just carry on tomorrow. Hope your cold gets better soon.

MascaraOHara · 16/09/2005 08:41

Well done MoH.

I've had me usual bran flakes and semi-skimmed milk this morning and have had a brisk 25 minute walk into work.

Also didn't have any booze at all last night.

Going for another walk at lunchtime.

Stomach crunches do sound like a good idea. Am planning to do half-an-hour of yoga before dinner tonight (DH cooking) but I guess I could do the stomach crunches first.

minnowmummy · 16/09/2005 10:19

dinosaur · 16/09/2005 10:47

Hi dinny and butty!

Butty, I'm trying very hard not to do a diet as such because I just find I get too hungry on them. I'm just eating sensibly and trying to do lots of walking. In particular I've been trying to avoid "mindless" snacking - you know, automatically reaching for a biscuit with every cup of tea, slamming down a handful of nuts with my pre-prandial glass of wine, helping myself to chunks of cheese out of the fridge while getting the kids' supper ready - it is so easy to consume huge amounts of calories like that before I even eat a proper meal

Dinny- why the name change?

dinny · 16/09/2005 10:53

I am expert at mindless snacking, Dinosaur

have changed it back now - wwas thinking I may have had identity blown but sod it if I have....

nickiey · 16/09/2005 11:11

im in, got lots to loose.
just need to stop eating! piff, thats easy, why didnt i think of that before1!

dropinthe · 16/09/2005 12:16

Well,Ive been really naughty today and yesterday-won't evn type what I've eaten and drank.I'm going to start in vain on Monday when I will report on current weight and goals!

Good Luck all for the weekend!

piffle · 16/09/2005 15:09

well when I say cut down I mean changing from 3 cans of Stella to one or two very weak wine and sodas. And having one or three alcohol free days.
To be fair this week I've already lost a little bit as have been galloping around and eating perfectly NO lapses!
I'm metric and so are my scales
I was 63.3kgs now I'm 62.6kgs
I have burgen soy and linseed bread one slice for brekky with pure peanut butter (GI trick) or porridge with fruit sugar and semi skimmed milk.
Lunch is either home made or low fat covent garden soup with one slice toasted rye bread. Or tuna salad plus One peach or orange.
sncak is small banana or oatcake with slice of tomato on it, but I rarely snack.
Dinner tonight is scallops/king prawns in ginger and spring onion home made (if it works that is)
Yesterday it was homemade thai fishcakes and salad.
Dh has been away for 7 days so is easier when hes not here as he has a mega appetite and as a consequence is overweight....

dinosaur · 16/09/2005 15:48

Had Thai vegetarian noodles at lunchtime. Not really anything too bad in them, but a bit greasy perhaps to be really healthy. Oh well. I was very hungry.

antibes · 16/09/2005 20:47

very naughty today - help to ransom by the kids - payment proffered for release cadburys chocolate cake

bobbybob · 16/09/2005 20:51

Me too - had pneumonia 5 weeks ago and have eaten through boredom and put on 5kg. So that's over 10 pounds - do I have time to shift it before Christmas?

logic · 17/09/2005 21:28

Well, my new trousers that I bought in a size 12 and were a bit too tight a couple of weeks ago are now wearable! Yippee! Still eating like a horse though. Does anyone else find that they have a weight plateau? I find it fairly easy to drop down to my current weight but incredibly difficult to shift any more no matter how much I starve myself. Maybe this is my natural weight but aesthetically I hate it.

bobbybob · 18/09/2005 01:09

Been very good for last 2 days. Only eaten my three meals a day - only fruit as snacks. Loads of water, I drink a glass every time I feel like eating something but don't need anything.

MascaraOHara · 19/09/2005 09:10

Morning Folks! I've still got a cold I think actually I have man-flu!

Had a weekend of birthday parties, weddings and christenings so got on the scales this morning and I'm quite pleased. I won't post my weight until tomorrow as tomorrow is weigh-day.

Hope you're all feeling good. I've not been feeling hungry so I think I can continue at this rate and continue to be 'good'

ok I know it's not quite a week, BUT - last Tuesday I was 129.8lbs (I prefer to use the lb's bit on my digital scales as I can see the weight coming off quicker LOL). Today I was 129.0lbs and I had DS1's party on Saturday so have been eating cr*p all weekend

MascaraOHara · 19/09/2005 12:51

129lbs? that's roughly 9st isn't it (unless my maths is way off) you must be a skinny little thing already!

OP posts:
dinosaur · 19/09/2005 12:52

Hello all!

Went out for dinner with DH on Saturday night so consumed large Chinese meal. Very nice too.

Back on the bandwagon this week though. Not weighing self until Thursday...

motherpeculiar · 19/09/2005 12:56

have been crap all weekend - guests around and had to cook apple struedel which then had to be finished off by me being my main lousy excuse. Plenty of enpty calories from lots of wine too. Ho Hum.

Back on track now and going to follow some of Piffles GI guidelines

will be astounded if i haven't put some on tomorrow when I weigh though...

QueenOfQuotes · 19/09/2005 13:08

Mascara - I'm only 5ft - it's about 9st 3lb - I used to be 7st (pre DS1 pg) when up to 12st while pg, got down to just over 9st in just over 2 1/2yrs and fell pg with DS2. Went up to 11st, but lost quite a bit of that straight away, but have been hovering around the 9 1/2stone ever since.

I don't want to be 7st again (I was too thin) but somewhere between 7 1/2 and 8 would be lovely

MascaraOHara · 19/09/2005 15:28

lol, let you off then QofQ.. didn't think about height.
