Is anyone else in Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness Club

Hi

I started at a Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness club last week and weigh in this week. The first week has been good, although I have slipped a couple of times already! The diet is do-able and actually rather good.

I just wondered if anyone else is doing it and would like to share tips.

I am very keen to get fit as well as slim, and most of all to get healthy. I am hoping to make a lifestyle change and I know it will take time.

Good luck to all other slimmers out there.

darn, I had the expected gain. Am keen for the week though.

Italiangreyhound · 03/03/2011 00:35

TINKERBELLE33 well done. I am finding it tough, hence the need to do some reading about why I want to eat so much! Also, my doctor said I've got mild Laberinthitus so I don't want to exercise for a couple of weeks until it has gone (Doc said to keep my head still as much as possible!)

Riapwhatyousow good luck with getting a grip. I hope it works. You sound motivated for next week. Onwards and upwards.

Bless you all, dear exercising peeps!

I think that is what my stepdaughter has italian greyhound. Now you've posted the word I can look it up! Do you know what causes it?(Ignore me if I am being too nosey)

Not a great day as I have left-over chinese from last night's treatBlush, but I have been much better than normal, have had loads of water, and went out for a very brisk 30min walk in addition to the school run, and I even did 3 short jogging stints on the deserted country laneShock

here's to a good weekSmile

TINKERBELLE33 · 03/03/2011 22:42

Well I've had another bad week - 2 1/2lbs on! I do have some health issues at the moment so am hoping it is down to that and can be sorted soon. It would help though if I could get to see a doctor without having to wait 13 days!

Italiangreyhound hope you feel better soon. I eat when I'm bored and also out of habit. Late night is my worst time. Hope the books help.

Riapwhatyousow don't worry about the gain, you seem to be back on track mentally. Hope your SD feels better soon too.

Italiangreyhound · 03/03/2011 23:58

Riapwhatyousow not sure what causes Labyrinthitis. Mine seems almost back to normal now, my ear I mean! Glad you are feeling better than normal.

TINKERBELLE33 Sorry you have health issues. I think these can impact on weight. Why not ask your doctor.

All the best to you both and any other readers/posters.

I'm now reading Overcoming Overeating: It's Not What You Eat, It's What's Eating You! by Lisa Morrone.

It is really brilliant.

Riapwhatyousow · 06/03/2011 21:17

I am not at all in the right mindsent food-wise, but I have walked for 30 mins extra every day this week, at moderate to brisk pace. Small steps eh?

sorry you've also gained tinkerbelle.hope you get to see your GP soon.

shortandsweet2 · 07/03/2011 08:12

Italiangreyhound funy enough I have been diagnosed with labyrinthitis too. I had fainting episodes and then extreme vertigo. I on on anti vertigo meds now which has helped a lot.

Will be going to my 1st class this evenig but won't be doing the exercise due to the labyrinthitis.

Hope you all have a good week.

Italiangreyhound · 08/03/2011 23:10

shortandsweet2 hope tonight goes well. Hope the Laberinthitus gets better soon.

Riapwhatyousow good luck with the walking.

OP posts:
Riapwhatyousow · 10/03/2011 00:44

oh bloody hell. another 1lb gain (though I'm not sure she deducts the same amount every week for clothing TBH Hmm) Also TOTM, I think if I'd ever got around to measuring I would have seen a slight measurement reduction this week. I feel better posture-wise, and generally better in myself, so still small steps, but better.

Just spent a fab few hours with my boys at a friend of DHs farm, mucking out horses etcSmile

TINKERBELLE33 · 10/03/2011 11:47

shortandsweet2 Hope you are having a good first week. I found the first 2 weeks the hardest to work out what to eat but also the best for being motivated. Let us know how you get on.

Riapwhatyousow wow you put me to shame with all your exercise. Mucking out horses is really hard work - I remember those days well.

Italiangreyhound Hope the reading is helping and you are OK now.

I've had a really good week and managed to lose 4 1/2 lbs! I've been writing everything down, all food, drink & lack of exercise. It has really made me aware of how much rubbish I was eating, how my diet has become carb heavy, and that I have a really worrying tea addiction!

I have managed to see a doctor and am being tested for all sorts including early menopause & thyroid problems. I do fear cervical cancer as my Mum got it at my age with similar symptoms, but am unable to have a smear due to budget cuts and will have to wait until April next year as my 3 years aren't up! At least if nothing shows up with the blood tests I should be having a scan so hopefully if anything is seriously wrong it will be seen. Got to think positively though!

Good luck with this week.

shortandsweet2 · 10/03/2011 21:58

Thanks Italian/Tinker I am all started now and 1st week so far hasn't been too bad

We went out for dinner tonight and was very pleased with myself as I had a chicken salad and actually felt it was enough :)

Sorry to hear about your gain Riapwhat but like you say you are due on so hope you have a big loss next week.

Tinker WELL DONE on your amazing loss that is fantastic. Also are you showing any symptoms at all for cervical cancer because they shouldn't refuse you if you are having symptoms regardless off budget cuts or could you pay for it to be done privately? I think it is around £100. I am sure all your tests come back normal but I know you most likely can't help worrying.

TINKERBELLE33 · 11/03/2011 22:49

Hi shortandsweet2

I do have some early symptoms of CC and the doctor said she would like to do a smear but wasn't allowed as it hasn't been 3 years since my last one! I thought this was mad but have been chatting to a friend at work today who only last week was refused a smear because she had 2 weeks to go before her 3 years were up! This is despite showing very worrying signs of CC and having all investigations carried out by gynaecologist at hospital. He has made her an appointment for 2 weeks time instead of doing it whist examining her there and then! I sometimes think the world is mad.

Keep up the good work, I never manage to stay on track when eating out. Come to think of it, I've had a huge slice of the dark chocolate orange fudge cake I made for DH - think the cross trainer will have to come out of retirement tomorrow!

Italiangreyhound · 12/03/2011 10:53

TINKERBELLE33 I am so glad things have gone so well for you. What is making you worried about cervical cancer? If you are genuinely worried can you not see a sympathetic nurse or doctor who could arrange this early for you? I am sure if you have a genuine worry they should be addressing this regardless of whether you are due for the smear yet. When you say April next year, isn't that ridiculous if you think you have symptoms? Also, if you mum had it then you must make a fuss and get them to take it seriously. Cancer is more likely in some families so if you have had cancer in your family I would get the docs to take it seriously. Yes, be positive but don't let the docs mess you around, you are important, more important than budget cuts! Personally, if I were your friend I would write to my local MP about being asked to wait for two weeks for a scan. I think that is positively mad and I would make a fuss. Likewise if you are not happy with your treatment look into the patients? charter. I am just not sure if there is any information on here www.adviceguide.org.uk/index/your_family/health.htm Good luck.

Riapwhatyousow* I wear the same thing every week, same top, same shorts and same trainers, same bra even, only thing I change is my knickers and socks! That sounds bad; they are all clean every week! Keep up the excursive and outdoor stuff as that will help I am sure.

Shortandsweet well done on going out to dinner and making a healthy choice.

TINKERBELLE33 I am so glad things have gone so well for you. I meant weight wise not the cervical cancer scare of course!

Riapwhatyousow · 13/03/2011 17:56

what is it with Sundays? Been SO good, then have just got in from lunch at my parents and had a bag of crisps and a couple of slices of cold pizza (that I managed to resist last night when it was fresh from the oven}Blush
Don't think I'll get out for my walk either as DS3 is running a temperatureSad

Italiangreyhound · 13/03/2011 23:42

Never mind Riapwhatyousow tomorrow is another day. Maybe read the book I am reading and see if it speaks to you.

All the best for the rest of the week.

OP posts:
Riapwhatyousow · 14/03/2011 19:19

hope you are getting sorted out and all is ok Tinkerbelle.

Had a better day today, though DS3 is poorly, and I was incredibly ill last night. Could SO easily give in and eat crap, but am determined not to. I am still on the first 2 weeks (is it 1,200 cal a day?), I am hoping I will find it easier when my calories go up. How do they work that out in class?

Italiangreyhound · 16/03/2011 00:44

Riapwhatyousow yes, it is 1,200 for first two weeks then it goes up to 1,400 for two weeks and after that they work out your individual allowance. If I remember rightly the difference with the 1,400 is that you can have a dessert for 100 and a treat for 100, or something like that.

It is hard work.

I am exploring some of the reasons why I over eat, with books, and thinking! I think it is helping me a bit.

Good luck, all the best, keep in touch.

OP posts:
Riapwhatyousow · 16/03/2011 15:59

thanks for that info.

I missed weighing in at the gym this morning as DS3 didn't want me to leave him with Daddy(!) and we spent a pleasant morning snoozing (between his coughing boughtsSad). On my scales I am dow 5lb. I now have to concentrate on not undoing all my hard work before next weeks classHmm

Italiangreyhound · 16/03/2011 19:21

Riapwhatyousow well done, hope ds3 is better soon.

OP posts:
Italiangreyhound · 05/04/2011 22:49

TINKERBELLE33 how are things going? Did you get your scan. I hope it is all sorted out now.

I won't ask about the weight loss. Just reply when you want to.

Waves to everyone.

I was the slimmer of the week last week. Yay!

OP posts:
Italiangreyhound · 11/04/2011 01:19

I am busy reading books like mad. I am going to get to the bottom of this! I was a bit OCD as a teenager (obsessive compulsive disorder) but not overweight at all. In my twenties I stopped the OCD (pretty much but started putting on weight). So one theory (of mine) is that I have swapped OCD for compulsive eating! I have noticed I kind of have to finish food, and even if it is opened and in fringe (chocs etc) I can't leave it until it is all gone! I think exploding this and reading about it is making it worse as I feel I am almost giving myself permission to eat more! But I also hope this is a good sign that I am getting to the bottom of it.

If you are a pray-er, please shoot up a quick prayer that I will get to the bottom of my problems with food!

My DD often talks about my weight and says things about me being big but getting smaller. It makes me sad because the reality is I am just going up and down, three on, three off etc! Anyway, any thoughts will be received with delight!

Thanks, and hugs.

Hi guys, I've started a new thread about eating problems and posted some stuff. If you are interested, feel free to read it. It's mostly about impulsive eating.
