Help, I need to get into my jeans - anyone want to join me for a September challenge?

Just put all my loose linen summer numbers in the loft and realised I'm bulging out of all the lovely jeans I planned to wear this autumn. Going away for half term so it would be great to be a size smaller by then.

I'm 5ft 7 and need to lose about 20lbs to be at my most comfortable, so not drastic, but enough that I'm feeling really lardy, and need to do something before I gain any more.

My plan is to eat healthily (using food focus website to keep me on straight and narrow..) - boiled egg and slice of toast with grilled mushrooms for breakfast (totally fills me up), then soup for lunch and something with veg for dinner. One treat meal at the weekend. 30 mins exercise a day (either running or exercise dvd)

Please come and join me, I'm hopeless when left to my own devices..!!

I didn't go to the talk... My friends keep giving me edited highlights - especially some joke about bald men Ds and I had only I hour and quarter as we had to pick up dtwins from my cousin nearby by 6.30 and the tour was ENDLESS.
Library lovely/heavenly (now judging schools on their libraries and whether there is evidence of children actually reading books

music stupendous (and the director was doing his brass band practice bit upstairs actually music was almost too good, don't think ds would get a music place after all, clearly the sophistication/aptitude of the applicants/parents at a higher level
too much RE not enough art. Art room no better than many other I've seen, ditto D &T. Science as good elsewhere. But level of ^attainment so much higher. Is it just the intake or the teaching...?
Sport a bit pigeonholed.

Actually as far as I was concerned it was a self selecting private school. All the schools I have visited talk a lot about discipline and rules. It's what the parents want to hear. But, the sheer emphasis CVMS places on that aspect is a way of just weeding out all the potential troublemakers/lazybones before they even get to the school...
So, it's a great school, but its reasons for being a great school are possibly a bit murky.

swany - agree with you. Although I would say that the music is a specialism at CVMS and the band you saw is not indicative of the skill at entry level so your DS may want to go for a music place??

Classrooms were a bit bare. Think it's whiteboard and books!!

My DH and I had a good chat about it this morning and think that the Dep Head and all the Masters we saw had that air of disdain about them that smacked a little of self importance!

The talk was ... interesting . The bald joke was made on the back of stressing that "creative" hairstyles were not allowed, shaven heads were not allowed etc etc...the fact that the Dep Head's 'head' was bare was then referenced, by him, making a joke that he wished he could grow his hair. Didn't like him tbh.

Had power walk with friend this am and she recalled visiting the school 8 years ago for her DS1 , who has special needs. On speaking to their SENCO she was told... our SN Dept is for boys who need a kick up the bum/motivating to do their homework. You can force us to take your son buyt he will not last more that 6 months!!!!!!!!!
