PAUL MCKENNA-I CAN MAKE YOU THIN

Have just rediscovered Mumsnet and also dusted off my Paul Mckenna book for another go! I am probably a good 4 stone overweight and have been for a good 10 years. I hate diets and have little will power. I did this book a few years ago and lost half a stone in week 1 but didn't do the CD....I think that was the downfall. Am starting all over as of today.....anyone care to join me/offer any advice/been there before?

Have slipped lsightly this weekend, I am eating too fast & too much again this week!

emmie31 · 27/09/2010 10:52

Hi Everyone, how are you all doing? had my 1st night out in 100 years on sat so had quite a few drinks and a trip to the takeaway on the way home, sorry but it has to be done doesn't it! The CD must be working ( although I always fall asleep) as I really don't feel guilty at all and carried on doing the Paul Mckenna rules on sunday, usually if I'd been "naughty" on a sat I'd think sod it and carry on being bad on Sunday, but didn't feel that way at all... And it's so lovely waking up on a Monday and not thinking " must be good today" and live off salad and watery soup, while craving a nice sandwich.

After re motivating myself i've been seriously doing P.M. I'm amazed how little i can eat before I feel full anyone else notice that? Glad you've got the mental impetus now emmie Smile

emmie31 · 27/09/2010 13:39

I Know what you mean, I'm used to eating every scap of my meals but I'm definately leaving more food, and not feeling bad about it cos I know I can eat more later if I'm hungry! Smile

Pwsimerimew · 27/09/2010 17:13

Glad you're all still here. Things are a bit hectic here but the desire to be thinner still there in the background. Shame feeling under the weather isn't putting me off my food - unfortunately, it's having the opposite effect, I eat what I fancy. ( Far too quickly)
Never mind, things will work out!

Pwsimerimew · 29/09/2010 09:00

How's it going?

ppeatfruit · 29/09/2010 09:06

I THINK the belly was down a bit this morning! I'm sticking to the PM rules apart from I have to go to bed hungry and it always has a positive effect the next day!!

Pwsimerimew · 29/09/2010 09:20

Think I need some inspiration. I'll come back later today and read the whole thread again to see if I can find it there Smile

emmie31 · 30/09/2010 10:38

Good Morning everyone!!! Well I'm very happy this morning, I've braved the scales and lost 2 pounds, I'm so happy with this as for the last few months on weight watchers I've been up 1/2 a pound then lost 1/2 pound , so to have lost 2 pounds eating what I want is brilliant. I'm cancelling my WW monthly pass and using the money to join the Gym, which I would have been too self conscious to do before, I'm sure those cd's are brainwashing me into feeling better about myself.... ppeatfruit · 04/10/2010 08:32

emmie31 · 04/10/2010 10:34

Well done!!!! Grin

ppeatfruit · 04/10/2010 10:58

thanks emmie have you got to the gym yet? I just try to keep moving all day (you know plies while washing up, running up the stairs etc.)

arfur · 04/10/2010 11:53

Well done ladies. Have been trying but finding it a bit tricky but my new PM book with the journal is now here and am rereading and going to start journal asap which I am hoping will help! Had slight issue friday with dd's birthday tea when I couldnt stop eating the buffet type stuff but I stopped when I was full and didnt have tea with DH as I would normally have done so I am still chalking it up as kind of a success! Cant stop weighing myself daily so might have to move scales as I know this is counter productive. Keep up the good work! x

PurpleLoopyWolf · 04/10/2010 12:29

Marking my place...have started using paul mckenna app, so will see how it goes!! seems such a practical weight loss plan. encouraged by those who have lost, well done and keep up the good work!!

emmie31 · 04/10/2010 13:20

PP Had my induction at the gym on sat morning and I'm still alive to tell the tale! So glad I went and quite enjoyed it, wasn't as bad as I'd remembered!(and it's a sneaky bit of me time) arfur I'd definately say skipping tea because you weren't hungry is considered a sucess, and good luck purple I can't wait to see how you both do..... Smile

ppeatfruit · 04/10/2010 15:50

Welcome purpleloopy I think it's great 'cos there are no weird 'pretend' foods and you can tailor it to suit yrself, as a teacher i also like it because it reeducates ones attitude to food.

PurpleLoopyWolf · 04/10/2010 16:07

Totally agree ppeatfruit, actually enjoying the mild feeling of hunger, and therefore enjoying my meals more as i am ready for them. I am exercising also, have a concept 2 rowing machine which I have den using, and walking more.

PurpleLoopyWolf · 04/10/2010 16:13

Been using!

ppeatfruit · 05/10/2010 11:56

Ha Smile

arfur · 06/10/2010 11:31

Hi all, have been using my journal and promised myself Im not going to weigh myself till day before I go on holiday (next Thurs). Think the journal is helping a bit actually, just makes me stop and think at the end of the day and jogs your memory for things like drinking your water etc also acts as a kind of count your blessings therapy which is kinda nice actually. Hope you are all ok. x

emmie31 · 06/10/2010 12:03

Hi Arfur, sounds like you're doing great, well done for not weighing yourself, it's so hard isn't it?... I've got the old paul mckenna from asda, whats the journal all about? is it helpful?

ppeatfruit · 06/10/2010 12:04

I'm fine thanks Arfur are you going any where nice? My jeans are feeling looser always a good sign!!

arfur · 06/10/2010 13:02

Im off to Florida - cant wait! And Im not stressing about the food as i know as long as I follow the rules itll be fine. The journal is just a space every day to fill in which of the rules you are managing a positive thought about your day and something you are looking forward to the next day with some inspiring stuff from PM. Sounds quite lame from my description but its ok actually just jogs your memory a bit IFKWIM. And on the subject of jeans am wearing the 14s today - Im not saying theres no muffin top but at least they do up I can breathe!

arfur · 06/10/2010 13:03

AND I can breathe Blush
