I did the 30 days back in January, don't weigh myself but lost inches all over, went down a dress size and got much flatter stomach and nicely defined shoulders out of it. Most effective exercise dvd I've tried, and the shortest.

SparkyMalarky · 12/08/2010 14:25

Ok so I've got it and need a kick start to get me going (am on the August weightloss thread too) I've watched the first routine and I think I might cry!

Tell me how fabulous I'll look in 30 days - and how many days before you noticed a change?

ruddynorah · 12/08/2010 14:29

Mine just arrived today too. Eek.

Joby1970 · 12/08/2010 14:50

its amazing - if you do it regularly you WILL lose inches - I have lines at the side of my abs - I have never in my whole life had those

notyummy · 12/08/2010 14:53

Depends on how unfit/how much you have to lose really. You will see a change in 2/3 weeks if you do it properly and watch your eating. It is hard - but is only 20 minutes. There has to be a certain amount of pain/intense physical effort to sculpt your body.

IT DOESN'T COME FOR FREE, PEOPLE!!

racmac · 12/08/2010 14:56

OP posts:
racmac · 12/08/2010 17:11

[faints]

racmac · 12/08/2010 17:12

how about these

Undertone · 12/08/2010 17:46

madeindevon - no WAY should you be starting with 5kg weights!! Not unless you've got arms like Arnie. It doesn't sound like much but you will be surprised...

I'm a strapping lass and only on the easiest, least 'aaargh'-inducing exercises do I use my 2.5kg weights.

If you go too fast/difficult to start with it could put you off.

SparkyMalarky · 12/08/2010 19:09

I'm slightly scared. Got about 3 stone to lose, but reasonably fit as I cycle/swim regularly and walk everywhere.

Right. Tomorrow. I have 1kg weights. I'll start with those!!

Fimbles5 · 12/08/2010 19:41

I've ordered my copy today too, so hopefully [gulps] will be working out with you all soon. Going to work out to Davina (the easier option now) whilst I still have the excuse of 'it hasn't arrived yet'. See you all Monday!!

justaminute · 12/08/2010 19:56

Another Jillian groupie here. I've been shredding since Easter - I've only lost a couple of pounds :( but I have lost inches :)

I'd recommend taking lots of measurements (chest, waist, thighs, hips, knees, arms) and if you can brave it take a few photos. I wish I had some before shots as despite my clothes fitting better I can't see the results when I look in the mirror. I still don't like the look of my tummy, bum, thighs , hips, fat knees etc etc! I do like my arms though - especially my mini guns Grin

Oh, and I use a mixture of 1.5kg and 2.5kg weights depending on the exercise. I started out using 1kg weights but now my dcs use those when they join in :)

Goober · 12/08/2010 20:05

Do I need this?

I have been dieting since January, lost 30lbs altogether. The last 3 months I have lost nothing, but have still been trying really hard and being very good.
I go to aerobics classes twice a week and bums legs and tums twice a week.
I am still overweight by about a stone and feel wobbly.

Do I need the shred DVD?

LC200 · 13/08/2010 07:16

Goober, it can't hurt!

I am not overweight (BMI is about 21.5) but have areas of extreme wobbliness. Since starting the Shred I have not lost weight but have definitely lost inches, and look so much more toned. I have the lines back at the sides of my abs that I had before babies (my kids are now six and four) and my shoulders have got some definition (for the first time ever I think!) Legs and bum still wibbly, but less so, and I am taking a size 10 as a default into a changing room rather than a 12 which I most certainly was a couple of months ago.

I love it, and feel really anxious if I know it's a day where I'll struggle to fit it in.

Joby1970 · 13/08/2010 08:00

I think everyone needs the Shred in their life.

racmac · 13/08/2010 08:52

I agree with Joby - you NEED the Shred in your life

You may not loose any more weight from doing it but you will definately notice the difference in terms of toning

I have the same lines on my abs which is a pretty amazing feet after 3 children Smile

You may have stopped noticing a change from the gym/classes because you are not pushing yourself enough - your body gets used to the exercise and it stops becoming a challenge

Ask yourself what have you got to loose? (apart from weight obviously Grin)

Joby1970 · 13/08/2010 10:22

As racmac says - SHRED is better than HOURS OF PHONING IT IN IN THE GYM ( thats Jillian again!!)
