Better late than never, NHS?

I have been obese since experiencing trauma as a teen (now 50). 13 years ago I hit my highest ever weight of nearly 30st (BMI 70). I went to see my GP to be told there was no help available.

I self-funded a sleeve gastrectomy, lost lots of weight, regained most, had four children.

I have lost 8-13st several times in my life.

This year I started mounjaro and have lost 6st, putting me at BMI 27, with less than 1st to go to finally get to my first goal of BMI 25 (probably carrying 7lbs of excess skin too).

Today I got a message from my GP surgery asking if I'd like to be referred to the weight management service.

😬

Oh wow. To be told that there was no help available is just incredibly disappointing and really quite shocking to hear. Even though it's pretty much the same response that I have had!

The ridiculousness of being contacted about the weight management service after not one but two self funded weight loss processes is just crazy.
