I am not sure what to do ..has anyone switched to the tablet form on monjroro.??
I'm currently still going nowhere fast . trying to think how I can switch this up ...maybe change to something else ,but the stories of wagovy I've read have not been positive

There isn't a tablet form of MJ, is there? I understood that it won't work as a tablet so I'm not sure there ever will be.

SilenceInside · 23/10/2026 16:01

@Springflowers2 I guess you meant either the Wegovy tablet or the Foundayo tablet?

I am not sure that swapping to either would be an improvement. They are both less effective than Mounjaro and both are only a single GLP1, whereas Mounjaro is GLP1 and GIP so has two actions on your system.

But I get the urge to do something different when you don't have any options to increase your dose. Things that you could do would be to inject more often than weekly, maybe every 6 or 5 days. You could try taking a total break from Mounjaro for maybe 4 to 6 weeks and then restarting on a lower dose and see if that makes a change. Or you could give the other medications a try, everyone has an individual reaction to each medication and they may work ok for you.

@Cat4324 Congratulations that is brilliant news!!!!

PositiveAttitude · 23/10/2026 18:46

Thanks for the new thread @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne.
Congratulations to @Cat4324.

Marking my spot here so that I can catch up over the weekend.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 23/10/2026 19:33

Has anyone noticed that the price differential at the higher doses has really shrunk lately? I'm taking 7.5mg but last month bought 10mg as the price difference wasn't much and I thought it would be good to 'future proof' my dose in case I need to go up. This month, I can get 7.5mg for £178, or 12.5mg for £212 - so around 20% more cost for around 66% more product! Looks like I'll be building up a nice little stockpile again!

TragicMuse · 24/10/2026 09:22

I seem to be on the move again! And had a little whoosh this week.

86 weeks, 12.5mg.

SW 19st 4lbs (Jan 2025, pre-MJ)
SW on MJ 18st 11.5lbs (1 Mar 2025)
CW 10st 12.5lbs
Change this week 2.75lbs
Total loss 117.5lbs/8st 5.5lb

The 10s! I truly never thought I would ever see myself like this, in this kind of body.

Today I’m seeing people I haven’t seen for a while so I guess there will be comments. I’m ok with that. It’s a huge and noticeable change, even I know that. But as you say, it’s not the most interesting thing about me…

I'm going to try dropping down to jabbing every 6 days ...if no improvement I will go down to 5 ..really need to to get back to some exercise.. although I wasn't losing even when I was exercising.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 24/10/2026 11:03

@TragicMuse a big well done on getting into the 10s!
I've been hovering between 10st 1lb and 10st 6lb.

It depends on how many chocolate peanuts I eat

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 24/10/2026 11:10

I've been at my goal weight for three months.
I could probably do with losing another 6lb but I am happy with how I look now.

And so you should be - you look great!

For me, deciding on the definitive goal weight is all but impossible. I was only once in the healthy weight range in my entire adult life -for about 5 nanoseconds, after losing 6 stone. I simply don’t have a mental picture of what a healthy, normal me looks like.

I think the excess skin compounds it - it’s easy to think I need to lose a bit more to get rid of that bulge there, whereas in actual fact, because of my age and degree of obesity, the firm toned athletic body I would like is simply not going to happen. And it doesn’t help when I’ve had people doing the “careful you don’t go too far” thing even when I was still obese.

My BMI is now around 27.5. I still have a little way to go, I think. But I am trying to pay more attention to health metrics such as blood glucose and visceral fat levels, than weight per se.

PearlsTeapot · 24/10/2026 13:55

@Cat4324 congratulations! Wonderful news. Stick around and update us every now and again.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne you are gorgeous! So envious of your legs. You look so young!

PearlsTeapot · 24/10/2026 13:59

Been really interesting reading the last few pages. I am a sugar fiend and I simply cannot stop. If there's something open, I'll eat it all. It's a huge problem for me.

When I get out of hospital I plan on giving it up. No more bags of sweets or biscuits,

However, I am addicted to sweet coffee and have at least one a day with syrup. I hate the sugar free syrup before anyone suggests it. I have sweetener in my morning coffee and then make an iced coffee with sweetener in the afternoon. I have no intention of giving it up as I will be miserable without my most favourite thing AND sweeties etc.

Springflowers2 · 24/10/2026 14:05

I think ..for what it's worth..we do need to have some nice things in our diet otherwise it gets boring and I think we are likely to binge ..I say we but I mean me really ...
However for me the exception to the rule is crisps ,I know I can't stop myself so I don't buy the ones I can't control myself with .
Must be hard guys if it's sugar thou,as it's in so many foods

Whatalunatic · 24/10/2026 14:47

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne you look amazing! Well done!

TragicMuse · 24/10/2026 16:40

Thank you @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne! You look fab!

All my previous diet history involves significant denial which is ultimately unsustainable for me. Most ‘normal’ people - the ones who have never had a weight problem - eat sweet things, or cheese, or crisps. I want to eat and live like a normal thin person not a recovering very fat one. And for me that looks like inclusion but moderation of the things I like.

I’m slowly re-educating my brain to know that the things I like have a reliable delivery chain and will still be there tomorrow/whenever. I think that will help unlock that ‘gotta-eat-it-all-now’ mindset so that I don’t always have to respond to the urge.

Baby steps eh?

PuzzledObserver · 24/10/2026 19:31

Most ‘normal’ people - the ones who have never had a weight problem - eat sweet things, or cheese, or crisps. I want to eat and live like a normal thin person not a recovering very fat one.

I would like that too. I would also like to be effortlessly organised, be able to handle confrontation well, have a flair for choosing clothes which make me look fab and have hair which returned to its just left the hairdresser look with two flicks of a brush. While we’re at it, I’d like to have perfect eyesight and hearing, no lingering knee issues and for my teeth not to have been wrecked by decades of sugar consumption.

But that’s not my reality. I have to live with what is.

If you CAN eat and live like a normal thin person, I a simultaneously overjoyed for you and envious of you.

I guess it comes down to what factors caused each of us to qualify for this thread, and whether they have been fully reversed by the combination of meds, lifestyle change and whatever emotional and psychological work we may have done.

I know that, for me, trying to eat and live like a normal thin person is very risky. I have made the emotional adjustment to needing to eat and live differently, in order to retain the huge benefits of having lost the weight. I am never, ever going back there.

PS - I eat cheese!

BritbirdUK · 24/10/2026 21:24

Happy Saturday all. Not been a great few weeks for me. Still losing but have had a few health issues. Probably a bit TMI but really struggled with what I think is a UTI and also constipation. I was due to see the nurse this week so was going to ask about it but they cancelled the appointment for the 2nd time. Really frustrating. If it doesn't clear up I will have to just book an appointment to see the doctor next week

On a positive note I am still losing. Not far off 6 stone now which was my Christmas stretch target. Still on 7.5 and not planning on going up unless I start plateauing. I have stocked up the freezer in the run up to Christmas with meals as we get really busy and in the last few years we have eaten badly. This year I am determined to not fall off the wagon.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 24/10/2026 22:19

@Cat4324 !!! What fantastic news!!! Congratulations!! I've heard of other stories of people on mj being able to conceive. No idea if its coincidence or somehow "does" something or the weight loss - but whatever it is -what amazing news. Congratulations and all the best for the next stage of your life :)

Wow @MCR24 We have similar starting point and I am assuming same height (5ft6) I cannot believe how low you have got!!! And you are maintaining that low!! I'm not sure even at uni I was below 10stone.

Did yours slow down towards the end? How did you decide on final goal? I am now just under 25bmi and looking at where I am going but it has been so slow on and off this year I am not expecting to get into the "9s" never mind early 9s! It must feel amazing!

@PuzzledObserver I meant I found those statistics so depressing before discovering MJ as each time I tried something new I found it so pointless. Looking now - its just yet another thing to show how lucky we are to have been able to use MJ. And agree re the "ifs" and whole food diet and environment etc. Having been through this last 2 years - its been so freeing and releasing to not feel like I have constantly "failed" in some way. i think being diagnosesd AuDHD too early 2025 alongside starting this has been so helpful in this way too.

Re Sugar. Pre MJ I got very much into Dr Chris and all the info around Ultra Processed Food (And zoe before that) . I truly believe it affects our brains and gut and ability to regulate. I found being on MJ made it so so much easier to stick to that kind of approach. Nearly 2 years in I am not as stict so will have crisps occasionally or a lindt chocolate. But still tend towards non processed.

I don't have much executive function so not good at home cooking (was great while we used Gousto for a bit - but the kids didn't get on with it) . Husband cooks basic food but where I am veggie I really need to look at my diet again as I am not eating a good balance of protein currently. And probably not enough tbh.

Not sure whether its MJ or adhd meds or being over 11 stone lighter or just where diet is mainly non processed but I do seem to be able to do "just a little" of things now. Could well be that this goes when I reduce MJ.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne You look incredible. Do you want to lose more? You look truly amazing as it is? (I am curious just as thinking through where I want to get to now - I dont think I will ever have the flat looking stomach you have (even if its an illusion cos clothes!)

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 24/10/2026 22:31

@TragicMuse We often seem to mirror each other!

SW - 21st 11 (Jan 2025 - but had lost a stone a yearbefore after stopping mirtazapine so was over 22stone....) Bmi 49.2 (was over 50)
CW - 10st 11 Bmi - 24.4

I've lost 10pounds over last 8 weeks since going up to 12mg. But - in the 3 months before that only lost 3 pounds in total....

Total loss - 11 stone! (plus before) I have lost more than I currently weigh. Which is nuts.

I am very not sure where this is going - or where I'd like to end up. As the weight loss was very much stalling before - I am finding this dose hard . And not sure how far I can go. I think I need to eat more, but only just into healthy bmi - and dont want to sabotage if I can go further. So not sure!

And, like Tragic, never thought I would live in this kind of body!

I am currently in a burn out, tired and living with drop foot... so not as active as I was either. But I am still functioning so much more than I was, so much more mobile, able to get in and out of the shower with ease, move about with ease, inhabit space at work with ease, sit in coffee shops, get out the car without worrying about space... all the things...

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · Yesterday 00:37

Re - my flat stomach.

I had an awful fat overhang when my BMI was over 50. I'd had 4 Caesarean Sections as well, which never helps.

Anyway - there is hope for you all in that regard. My fatso abdomen gradually got smaller and flatter as I lost the weight.

It was definitely the last place where I lost pounds.

So all of you who are worried about this aspect of your bodies, take heart. I never thought my tummy would flatten, but it did.

Eventually.
🤣

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden
No, I don't want to lose more.
My clothes are size 8 - 10.

The stupid BMI scale tells me that I'd still be healthy if I lost another two stone. That's ridiculous. I'm happy with my current BMI of just over 24.

As I'm so very old, it's apparently better not to get any thinner.

I sooooooooooooo can't believe you are 71. You look amazing!

I'm bmi 24 and a bit - my stomach is so much better than it was - I can now wear jeans and it doesn't stick out so obviously at the front but It isn't like yours! I will see if i can get a bit lower - and hope it is the next place it comes off from!

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · Yesterday 20:08

Ah found you all on the new thread - thanks for setting it up, lovely to hear all the updates and congrats @Cat4324 !

Had a bumpy month or so here, I think I mentioned (TMI) that I was having daily diarrhoea- well it went on for 5 weeks and was frankly horrific. I think in the end it was upping my dose that triggered it and then it prompted an IBS flare, combined with a lot of stress I was under as I moved home and started a university course ( in my 50s!). prescriber made me stop the MJ for 3 weeks. I was ok the first 2 and since then have wanted to eat everything in sight. I had to restart on 2.5mg, am working my way back up and currently on 3 but it’s not doing anything for me yet. I was on 4.5mg before the issues started. Stomach has been back to normal thankfully for a couple of weeks now.

Anyway, I’ve managed to maintain my weight, probably only because my exercise has more than doubled since the new lifestyle. I am at BMI 29 having lost just over 9 stone now. I want to lose one more and then go back for my follow up DEXA I got in a bundle with the first one in May, to see where my visceral fat and body fat % are sitting. I think I’d probably be happy stopping around BMI 27 as I know I have higher lean mass % than the scale expects.

This experience with the abrupt MJ stopping has made me really fear for maintenance though. I’d be happy to stay on a low dose forever except the MJ has given me gastritis and I don’t want to be on the high PPI dose forever… always a trade off.
