Wegovy v mounjaro

Another one sorry

I've been on wegovy since march and have lost 3 stone. I'm on 1.7mg, going to start 2.4 this week
The issue is I simply cannot stop eating. When I went to order my new pen, I was offered 2.4 wegovy or 5mg mounjaro. Both the same price.
I cannot afford the high doses of mounjaro so was wondering what people's experiences of 5mg was? I could prob go up another dose then that would be it.

Any advice please

I’m on 7.5mg Mounjaro and was thinking of changing to WeGovy as I’m having the same problem! From what I gather, very few people stay on 5mg. My next dose will be 10mg and that will be £300!

I would try the 2.4mg and the 7.2mg of Wegovy first before swapping to a low dose of Mounjaro.

@DoubleBusy2026 don't pay £300 for 10mg of Mounjaro, that's a crazy price. You can get 10mg from Medicine Market Place for £198, or £188 with a £10 new customer discount.

Thanks. Il try the 2.4 and see if it restarts anything. I could prob do the 7.2 wegovy at a push. It's just so hard

What’s your BMI now? Are you eating over your daily calories?

Plenty of people have been successful on the lower doses of Mounjaro but it’s not guaranteed so if the lower doses of who’ve worked for you and have only become less effective recently I’d not make the switch personally. FWIW I’ve been on MJ for 5 months - 9 weeks on 2.5mg and the rest on 5mg with no plan or need to change in the near future

I loved mounjaro, lost 6 stone, felt great. Stopped as it was getting too expensive, put on 2 stone. Went on wegovy and it’s rubbish for me. Makes no different whatsoever so I don’t know what to do!

My BMI is 38 so still loads to lose. I am eating over the Dailey calories but not intentionally.

I did a lot of research before starting and read that mounjaro works on 2 receptors whereas wegovy just on one. In research trials, the difference in weight loss overall between both wasn't vast, but some people respond better to one drug over the other.

I've only tried mounjaro and like most people, change suppliers to get the best rate. I've also bought the next dose of pen I can, then use clicks to get the dose I want. eg I have a 10mg pen but only use 7.5mg each week, so I can get 5+ doses from the 1 pen. Hopefully you get better results going up the wegovy dose though.

Could you try tracking calories with MFP or similar for a week to gain more awareness? A few small switches for have seemingly tipped me from really slow loss to a decent pace.
