On WLIs, what sort of things are you eating?

I’ve been on MJ for 18 months now but have about 1.5 stone still to lose. From the start I’ve counted calories and focused on high protein but I think I’m getting a bit bored with my diet.

I have scrambled eggs every morning (I want to keep that in my diet as I like them) and sometimes I’ll also have a couple of Heck chicken sausages or smoked salmon.

Lunch is often salad - prawns, tuna with light mayo etc.

Dinners (this is where I’m bored!), I might have cooked chicken breast, baby potatoes and veg or salad. Sometimes I’ll have salmon with root vegetable mash and veg. Occasionally if I’m in a rush I’ll have a MyProtein ready meal.

I love cooking but I also associate cooking with high fat content (lots of cream, butter etc) and that’s what landed me nearly 6 stone overweight to begin with, so I tend to avoid it. I did look into some lower calorie Hello Fresh options but I got bored with that too.

Just wondering what others eat on a normal day while on WLI?

I do 16:8 fasting as a natural preference which means I have more calories available for dinner. I tend to eat sometime after 12 and have some combination of cottage cheese, eggs , tinned fish, fruit, salad/veg, peanut butter, yogurt.
For dinner I then have a normal meal but with a small amount of carbs. This last week I've had beef stew and dumplings, chicken curry, lamb tagine, baked salmon and veg, lamb chops. All made from scratch.

I have been in maintenance for about 20 months

i have eggs for breakfast, lunch is often a Huel read to drink or a salad with a protein, ie chicken, tuna etc, mid afternoon I have a protein bar, I like the grenade chocolate and raspberry one, and dinner is whatever we are having, steak pie, roast chicken, lasagna, salmon, etc and veg or salad, I eat a small but healthy portion size, the onky dressing I use is pesto.

I then usually have a kvarg or yoghurt with dried mango after, and later in the evening I have some fruit, grapes, melon, pineapple etc. I often have a small hand full of crisps too, I tend to eat more in the evening than during the day,

I eat the exact same as when I was losing weight, just more of it to hit maintenance cals, I also eat slightly less during the week so when I go out, normally every second week, but often every weekend, I can eat and drink as I please, I don’t drink alcohol unless I’m out socialising,

for me it was important my diet was healthy, clean but sustainable. I didn’t want to hit maintenance and I suddenly changed again, all I do now is eat a little more to ensure I don’t lose weight,

Not unlike @MoneyJo I keep a closer eye on my breakfast and lunch which means dinner is pretty much normal - although I should add that portions have never been an issue for me, pre MJ, it was snacking, cheese, desserts etc. I usually don't eat breakfast before 9 and have dinner at 6. It's more 15:9 but it works for me. I'm in maintenance now but still eating pretty much as I did while I was actively losing.

Breakfast: 5% Greek Yoghurt with berries & low sugar granola OR boiled/scrambled eggs and 1 slice sourdough or granary

Lunch: Summer was generally chicken/tuna/ham and greek salad, plus a few cashew nuts. Now it's proteiny soup, eg bean or chicken, and a handful of lentil crisps or nuts.

Dinner: Examples this week: 2 sausages, half a medium size baked potato, baked beans/Veg quiche with roasted carrots/Individual steak pie, with broccoli/ Indian marinaded skinless boneless chicken thighs with rice and roasted cauliflower/ half a thin crust pizza.

Admittedly, I am losing weight relatively slowly on WLI, but i haven't changed my diet much. The injections help me to stop snacking and to massively reduce my portions (because portion control has always been my biggest challenge), and I am happy with that.

Last night I did roasted veg (cooked in some oil), eith couscous and goats cheese. Exactly what I would have eaten before but about 1/2 the portion.

On friday we had baked chicken pieces (i had one small thigh), new potatoes, veg. The kids begged for Yorkshire puddings so I did those for them and had one for myself!

Breakfast is sometimes toast , but only ever one slice. Sometimes granola, yoghurt and berries. Sometimes eggs.

I like ryvita cracker bread and Sometimes have a bit of cream cheese and avo on it for breakfast or a bit heartier with avocado, mozzarella and tomato for lunch. I still often have a sandwich for lunch but its JUST a sandwich, nothing else. And i dont always eat a full 2 slices.

Oh, I meant to say, lunch might be eggs with eg avocado if I didn't have them for breakfast.

And those are very much Autumn dinner examples - it was wall to wall salads and cold protein during the crazy summer we just had.

I'm basically eating the same meals as before as they are never bad it was what I was eating in-between the meals which causes me problems so that has stopped and if I do need a snack now in between meals I can actually choose fruit instead of always choosing crisps or chocolate. I'm still having something sweet after dinner as need to learn to manage these things for when I come off the jabs
