These days, probably not. When I first started a couple of years ago you could, but these days when I change to a new pharmacy they’ve all asked for photo id.

You could try working your way through the list of pharmacies on the Monj website and see if any of them don’t ask. Or, get a provisional driving licence maybe?

Thanks, I don’t have photo id. My driving licence was revoked for MH reasons and I’m not sure when I’ll get it back.

Med express rejected it as it’s expired.

My MH is really good now I’m on the right medication. So now I’m starting to look at other issues in my life.

Until recently I got my mounjaro in person from a local independent pharmacy. As in monthly face to face appointments, walk out with the meds. I never had to show ID. Although I started in March 25 so things could have tightened up since then. But if you're going to find anywhere that doesn't ask for photo ID, it would be more likely to be an in-person prescriber.

Gonksmum · 08/10/2026 19:51

Yes. I got MJ in August through Well Pharmacy by seeing the pharmacist in person. No ID was needed. You may have had to put your NHS number on the assessment done pre appointment but I'm not 100% certain on this.

PurpleLovecats · 08/10/2026 19:52

Thanks, I hadn’t thought of in-person but I’d struggle as I don’t leave the house which is why I can’t get a passport.
Ah well, it was an idea but not going to happen I think!

I ordered it from Curely last month and they didn't ask for photo ID. I was already on mounjaro though, from a different provider.

aminchargeist · 08/10/2026 19:59

I go to my local pharmacy for my consultation.

I have severe anxiety but I don’t really count that. My MH issues that I really struggled with - hearing voices, seeing angels, bugs on skin, paranoia etc are now in check.

Please make sure you discuss your mental health issues with the provider before taking the drugs. While mental health responses aren’t common Or noted as a side effect the drugs may cause changes in mental health. I think it would be best if you chose a prescriber who would monitor you.

Edited

Thanks, I’ll bear that in mind but both my psych and GP have said they would have no issues with me taking them.

There are other official photo id options:

https://www.postoffice.co.uk/identity/pass-card
https://www.citizencard.com/what-is-a-citizencard

Which are supposed to exist as a proof of ID for people without driving licence or passport

morbidcuriosity · 09/10/2026 10:05

Medicine market place? Don't think you need it for there.. I may be wrong and someone can correct me.

MrsUrdd · 09/10/2026 10:09

You don't need to leave the house for a passport now. You take the picture on your phone and complete online. As long as you know someone who can countersign its straightforward

SilenceInside · 09/10/2026 10:14

I had to provide photo id for MMP when I swapped to them a few weeks ago.

LIZS · 09/10/2026 10:16

What do you use to vote in elections? Some bus passes may qualify.

PurpleLovecats · 09/10/2026 14:25

Thanks everyone. I’ve so poked to my psychiatrist today and she’s happy for me to reapply for my driving licence so that will help!
