What’s the cheapest option?

I’m assuming the cheapest weight loss option is a tablet rather than jabs. Are they available to buy from online pharmacies now? Are they actually effective?

The most effective medication is mounjaro jabs, followed by wegovy jabs, then wegovy pills, then foundayo pills.

You can compare prices of all of them at the various pharmacies here (there’s a page for all the different medications) monj.co.uk

Depends what you mean by cheapest.

They are cheaper than jabs by dose, but are less effective so the price per pound lost might be different But you won't know that till you've been on a treatment and lost weight.

They've been available through online pharmacies for a few months.

Thanks both, I’ll look at wegovy tablets

Just to add, can you dip in and out if them? I know obviously the loss would be much slower but is it ok to skip a few weeks here and there for financial reasons? I have a significant amount of weight to lose as I’m 18.5 stone.

No you can't really "dip in and out", because the active ingredient in your system will reduce and be at an ineffective level. People lose weight when they are on a consistent steady dose level, whatever that dose level is. Well, I mean, obviously you could just stop taking the medication for a while, and then restart at the lowest dose again, but it would be ineffective and really probably wasting money when a concerted consistent period of time on the medication would produce the weight loss result you are wanting.

If you are worried about affording this medication, what would your long term plan be to keep the weight off? It's very unlikely that you could just stop taking it once at goal and keep the weight off. People often find they need or want to stay on the medication long term.

Thanks for replying. I’m not bothered about support so think cheapest will be best!

Yes you can 'dip in and out' but as your appetite is likely to return with a vengeance during the time you're not taking them, and you'll puie the pounds you've just lost back on, all it'll mean is that you've wasted your money.

Strange at it seems, the cheapest is probably to take the most effective prescription medication (usually mounjaro) as prescribed.
