Mounjaro October 2026 accountability thread

I've been on Mounjaro since April, kept it low and not really seen great results. I'm on 7.5mg now and hoping to step it up so thought I'd start an accountability thread for daily check ins. I've joined a 10000k steps a day thread and it's really helping!

Anyone else want to join? Newbies and not so newbies all welcome!

What results have you had since April? Was that the first time you started to lose weight or were you trying something else before that?

What do you plan to do differently from now onwards?

Wishfulshrinker25 · 05/10/2026 08:40

Hopeful bump!

I’ve been in both the August & September starters’ threads because my first jab was on August 29th. October probably does need its own starters (or similar?) thread.

Wishfulshrinker25 · 05/10/2026 12:37

Sorry @LovelyLapin, I didnt realise you had posted before I bumped.

I downloaded the WW app at the weekend as this is how I've been most successful in the past, am tracking water/exercise/everything. I was reluctant to do this as I can find it all a bit triggering but it feels like it's getting silly now that I'm on Mounjaro and have still only lost 1.5 stone. I've been thinking about weight loss and using a lot of headspace for it for a year now. I know it's not a magic fix but it's very expensive to feel like it's not having an impact, so I'm hoping accountability on a thread will help.

I wasn't sure if I'd be the right fit for that as technically I'm not a starter, but the uptake on this thread seems to be low, so I might need to!

What are your goals @Wishfulshrinker25?

I am near my original target weight but I think I might go for 7lb lower as I will be on holiday for 4 weeks out of 5 weeks in Dec & January.

At the moment I am:

Doing two resistance classes a week
One light weights class a week
I have just started park run
Starting a course of 10 PT sessions next week

1510 calories max but more importantly I’m aiming for 105g of protein per day.

CoolRubyDreamer · 05/10/2026 16:16

I restarted sept 30th so basically October so happy to be here to keep accountable! I did 6 months in 2024 maintained for a year then this year lost my way a bit so have gone back on it. Feeling good so far no problems and feeling a bit more in control again

Wishfulshrinker25 · 05/10/2026 23:44

Oooh yay @CoolRubyDreamer, how has your day gone?

Ive done 12000+ steps, 2l of water and a fairly good day for food. One packet of crisps but I'd even thought about it properly but I dont think I'd eaten enough for breakfast!

Congratulations @LovelyLapin, how long has it taken you?

I'm hoping for 10000+ steps a day, less than 1800 calories and 2l of water. I'm getting back into running again so hoping to do 3 runs a week.

Usually for me, it all comes together when I'm in the zone so hoping that October is my time!

I could have written this, OP!
I’ve been on MJ since May and only lost 20lbs! And I’ve lost nothing for 6 weeks despite moving up to 5mg. How are you finding being on 7.5mg now?

Greenfingers37 · 06/10/2026 02:58

I’d like to lose another stone which would be 2.5 stone in total.
Trying to get at least 10,000 steps in daily (14,000 today!) and doing yoga twice a week with some home workouts using dumbbells and kettlebells.
I think I’ll need to increase to 7.5mg on my next pen though.

Good thank ☺️ like you I'm aiming for over 10k steps and managed that yesterday I always feel good after a good walk! I need to up my water though Im.nkt that great with making sure I have enough

Frenchjamisbest · 06/10/2026 07:24

I just started on Saturday so it's a bit depressing to read about lack of results. I am less hungry but that's all so far. I'm also experiencing big swings from hot and sweaty to freezing cold. Has anyone else had this? Feeling very tired too so struggling to do enough exercise.

Wishfulshrinker25 · 06/10/2026 08:05

Oooh great, a fellow low responder/slow lower @Greenfingers37 😊 welcome, very glad to have you here! 7.5mg does feel better, I'm interested in what will have happened by the end of the month. When is your next set due? How have the first few days of the month gone for you?

@CoolRubyDreamer, I find it a real slog to get enough water, even WFH. Might start setting myself hourly timers to remind me to drink.

Don't worry @Frenchjamisbest, loads of people respond much more quickly! I was cold at first and kept wanting to nap!

I find I feel colder which I don't really mind as always ran hot!

Thank you!!! Glad to be here!
All I seem to be doing is maintaining which isn’t bad in itself but a very expensive way of doing it! 🤣 Still got good suppression but am definitely eating bigger portions although I’m managing to stick to around 1400 calories.
I think my weekend wine may be a factor here though…..😩
Two more jabs left in my 5mg pen then I think I’ll up it.
Good luck everyone!

I started in July, but I was already low carb so didn’t have big early losses. Aiming for 147lb for a healthy BMI. Then I’ll reassess.

How's it going this week @CoolRubyDreamer, @Greenfingers37, @Frenchjamisbest and @LovelyLapin?

I weighed myself a day early and have lost 1lb, which puts me back where I was at my lowest since starting MJ. The only way is down! I'm feeling more focused. I've managed 10000 steps every day, tracking and one run..although today my knee is hurting 😫

OP posts:
CoolRubyDreamer · 07/10/2026 11:08

@Wishfulshrinker25 well done that all sounds really positive (apart from the knee) sounds like you are in a good place! My week is going well with my food and steps just need to add a workout in but I'm procrastinating today!

Frenchjamisbest · 07/10/2026 11:08

Could anyone clarify this for me? I am reading conflicting accounts of whether it is a good idea to do intermittent fasting /low car/low fat as well as MJ? I have not been eating breakfast but A1 tells me this is not a good idea on MJ. So I have been making myself have breakfast and then experiencing awful heartburn and feeling ill.

Some accounts say don't calorie count, others say stay in a deficit. I don't know what's correct.

I don't eat breakfast everyday never have been much of a breakfast person but if I know I'm going to have a busy day I will. I do calorie count just to keep on track as i do find i can still eat over my deficit to lose weight and just to have a general idea of how much I'm consuming but you don't have to calorie count to be in a deficit if that doesn't work for you, sometimes I'll use a smaller plate instead if I can't be bothered to work out the calories

Frenchjamisbest · 07/10/2026 11:23

I thought combining intermittent fasting with MJ would be doubly beneficial for insulin resistance. I'm happy staying in a deficit but am confused by conflicting information.

SilenceInside · 07/10/2026 11:23

@Frenchjamisbest there is no one "correct" way to approach things, there's no one definitive rule for what to eat or how to eat. Everyone's situation is different and what works for me won't necessarily work for anyone else.

I wouldn't force yourself to have breakfast if it gives you heartburn and makes you feel ill.

To lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit, but you don't have to count calories to achieve this. You can do it through reducing portion size, cutting out snacks, intermittent fasting, increasing veg and reducing carbs.... Whatever method suits you in your life. If you are very obese at the start then it's certainly easier to be in a calorie deficit just by reducing portion size and cutting out snacking. As you get closer to target weight, or if you don't have much weight to lose, then definitely being in a calorie deficit can be harder to judge and you might find calorie counting helpful.

I focus on calorie deficit and use Nutracheck to track this and my intake of protein and fibre. I usually have breakfast, something protein heavy like Greek yogurt and berries. Although having said that, my weight has plateaued so maybe I need to skip breakfast?
Pretty sure I need to move up up 7.5mg too.

Frenchjamisbest · 08/10/2026 06:52

I'm several days in and now suffering from stomach pains and discomfort and now constipation . I never ever get constipartion. What's the best way to deal with it?
