Hi,

I am about to start on WLI but wondering how I know if a pharmacy is legit please?

I have selected a local private pharmacy that does weight loss as the prices look ok & I like the idea of a monthly face to face check in before changing dose etc. The pharmacy I have chosen is an NHS travel clinic vaccination centre so sounds good but how do I know I am getting the proper injections rather than something dodgy please?

@LostThestral It's highly unlikely that a high street pharmacy that does NHS travel vaccination clinics is supplying black market fake medication.

You can check whether the pharmacy is GPhC registered and read their latest inspection report if you like. The pharmacy should display their GPhC registration certificate somewhere in the building where customers can easily see it and check the details. You should be able to find their registration number and look it up on the GPhC website.

Monj.co.uk is a website that only shows approved and accredited pharmacies. It also shows price comparisons so win win 👍

Might be worth comparing the price of what you are considering with the local pharmacy to those online and seeing if their price is genuinely reasonable or if it’s worth the cost to you. Most offer online consultations as often as you like and chat support etc if needed.

they have a good report on the GPhC website but aren't listed on monjo.co.uk.

Local pharmacy prices look to be around the middle of what is listed on online so will see what they say on Tuesday when I go for my first consultation

High street pharmacies won’t be on the Monj site, it’s for online pharmacies. Plus it’s just a commercial website not an official list, so not all online pharmacies will be on it. It’s useful for price comparisons though.

You can also start off with the local pharmacy and then switch to an online one if you want later on.
