Wegovy sickness - how long?

Hi, I just started the wegovy injection yesterday and I’m feeling really sick today. Does it pass or will this be a continuing symptom? Thank you

I’m currently on 0.5mg and I have felt so sick on it which is annoying … didn’t feel sick much at all on the lower dose so I’m going to go back down to this. I find that if I eat something in particular and because it takes longer to go through the intestine then that’s when I feel dreadful… I’ve also noticed on 0.5mg I’m hardly hungry at all. My weight loss has been consistent though, a pound a week.

Thanks, it helps to see what other people are feeling. I’m on .25 and have barely eaten all day because my appetite has gone and the nausea is always there. I’m really hoping that it will ease up as I don’t think I could face feeling like this for a long time.

I wasn’t sick at all on the 0.25 I just felt very full. I find though that what I eat has a massive influence on whether I feel sick or not so I’m much more aware of what I’m eating and now I’ve started to drink more water it really helps as it’s meant to help digestion.. apparently the sickness is due to food moving from the stomach much slower.

Regarding nausea, you can try cyclizine which you can get via online pharmacies, maybe try the one that provides your Wegovy and see if they do it.

You may also find that side effects start to lessen after 2 or 3 days, as the medication starts to reduce in your system gradually.

Thank you, this is really helpful. I’ve barely been able to eat anything. This is day 3 so hopefully it will improve but I’ve messaged the pharmacy and they are going to get a clinician to come back to me. I don’t think I could face a second dose if it’s like this.

I went from 10mg mounjaro to 2.4 wegovy (I think!) and the sickness and being sick didn’t pass for me. I did 2 or 3 pens then went back to mounjaro 5mg

I have heard it’s common with those who start on mounjaro to struggle with wegovy if switching! If I had my time again, I’d start with wegovy 😀
