Has anyone switched providers to get the new customer offers? I'm not sure if it is worth the hassle or not.

Yes I have, it’s the only way I can afford the medication. It wasn’t much hassle to be honest. I will swap provider again next month, once my current discount expires.

Sneaky weigh in this morning as I am away tomorrow. 6 days on 4mg and have lost 3lb. Takes my loss to nearly 7lb now in 5 weeks. Am still having to really work at it with portion sizes and food - having two decent meals a day, limited / no snacking, focus on protein. I am still ‘hungry’ but am finding that I feel full when eating quicker and stay full for longer

SweetLathyrus · 12/10/2026 11:05

I've just ordered my prescription for month three and decided to stay on 1.5mg again. I don't know if it's because I am smaller person over all, but it's still having quite an effect on me, albeit less that month one, when I could barely even think about eating.

I think I've already started to reset my sugar cycle, I just don't consider sugary options most of the time. Last week someone brought a multipack of Maltsters to work. They are my ABSOLUTE favourite cheap choc, so I let myself have some. They didn't taste nice and I didn't finish the mini-bag.

I've also found that the longer I leave between taking the tablet in the morning and my first food and drink, the stronger the effect for the rest of the day. I also tend to drink more water and fruit tea at work than at home (as a reason to get up from my desk), which means I am less focussed on food.

I've not switched suppliers because there is enough admin in my life as it is, and while I'm not needing higher doses, the cost is balanced by not buying sweets, crisps, and wine.

How long do you leave between pill and first food/drink? I try to leave over an hour (probably 2-3 hours at a weekend) but I've not really noticed any difference between shorter or longer periods yet.

This is infuriating! After losing 6kg in my first month on 1.5mg, I’m now on day 6 of 4mg and after a week of not losing anything, I’m now slightly UP in weight?! I’ve been rigidly sticking to 1200-1500 calories a day, I’m 181cm and my starting weight was 99kg, now around 93.5kg

Any advice? I’ve just come on my period so wondering if it’s related…

Fireyflies · 13/10/2026 10:10

I think it's really common to gain a bit of weight as you start your period @BusyBeeeeeee . I do. So wouldn't worry about occasional ups and downs.

Fireyflies · 13/10/2026 10:12

I was reading up and it seems the pills are most effective if you can leave an hour or two between taking it and eating or drinking. That works fine for my lifestyle so I've been doing that. Might be why I've found the 1.5g ones quite effective.

Wednesday Weigh-in

Day 42 Weigh-in (second month on 1.5mg)

Starting weight 66.7 kg (10st 7)
Weight last week 62.1kgkg (9st 12)
Current weight 61.6kg (9st 10)

Total loss 5.1kg (11.2lb)

That actually surprised me, because I thought it was slowing down (and I was ok with slower loss), and have definitely been eating more sustainably over recent weeks.

SweetLathyrus · 14/10/2026 10:42

@Gottodosomething2026 I try to have a glass of water next to my bed so that I can take the tablet before I properly get up. So that will be around 5:30/6am. Then I only have a black coffee at about 7-7:15am before I leave the house - meaning nothing of nutritional value 😄. I get to work about 8:30 then have a fruit tea and something like plain nuts until lunch at 1pm.

It works for me and is something like my habits before, when I maintained a good weight in my 30s and 40s. I find if I do eat earlier, I am noticeably hungry during the day.

Like @Fireyflies , it fits around lifestyle patterns I already had to a great extent.

Really struggling with the side effects on 4mg. I’ve had to miss a few doses so really hoping things settle down.

PituitaryPippa · 15/10/2026 16:30

Just started my 4mg and am feeling so rotten today. Currently away with DH on a city break so I’ve decided I’m not going to take another one until I’m back home.

Gottodosomething2026 · 15/10/2026 17:29

This is worrying me about moving up a dose in a week or so. I wonder whether I should do a few days of alternating 1.5 with 4 to ease in. Or even doing two lots of 1.5 to bridge. Has anyone done this?

Wonderknicks · 15/10/2026 20:15

I've been on 4mg for 2 months and the only side effect I've had is mild constipation.

Blackraven17 · 15/10/2026 20:26

Getting messages from med express reminding me to re order… can’t decide between sticking to 1.5 or going up to 4… I don’t want to feel rotten!

FamousInTheLastCentury · 15/10/2026 20:58

I’m into my 2nd week on 4mg, and for the first few days nothing happened.…. then wooosh! My appetite has disappeared ( having to remind myself to eat ) I often have a forehead headache, and bizarrely the hiccups a lot! I even woke myself up hiccuping the other morning. Headache clears with paracetamol.
I am 1st & 6lbs down since Aug 18, so virtually 2 months. I am so pleased!
I am eating protein and fruit, and a lot of grapes - they are my evening tv snack.
Feeling well, energy is back, sleeping well, too, having vivid dreams though.
4mg def. has a few small side effects for me, but nothing that bothers me.
The scales make me happy 😀

Yes, I did, as I had ordered another box of 1.5mg just as it stopped working and food noise & cravings came back. So I took 2 x 1.5 mg for few days til my 4mg turned up.
Cant saw I noticed any difference if I’m honest.

katedan · 16/10/2026 21:34

Now on day 10 of 9mg and the side effects and appetite supression have really kicked in, thinking of moving forward my next dose as my planning on lowering to 4mg anyway instead of going up to 25mg. I am 1 stone down since 11th August so only another 5lbs to go but the ( sorry tmi) loose stools and stomach cramps on 9mg is not managabe with normal life but i am pleased i started these tablets.

scoobysnaxx · 16/10/2026 22:01

Does anyone have a link to the weight loss drugs price comparison site?

McMcMc · 16/10/2026 22:37

Hi,
so I've just ordered my first batch of Wegovy pills (pending clinical decision from Boots). I've watched many friends and some family do so well on Mounjaro Inj but I'm just not brave enough to inj myself. So will try these for a month.
it's taken me 2 years to loose 2 stone on slimming work and for the past 9months I've lost and put on the same 6 pounds. I'm hoping this really will be magic pills and help me kick start my weight loss journey again.

can anyone advise what I should expect for my first week? Am I best off taking them on a day off to start with ? Do I need to keep near the bathroom? Once your past the hour after the tablet can you drink more fluids then?

Everyone is different. Some people seem to experience no bad side effects and others can get burping, gas, bloating, diarrhoea etc.

Yes you can have more liquids 30+ minutes after the tablet.

scaredysquiggle · 17/10/2026 07:35

I have a gurgling tummy and burping for the first week on a new dose. Didn’t take any time off work and didn’t make any extra trips to the toilet. I noticed I couldn’t take my usual vitamins and supplements in the morning after it as I was nauseous so moved them to the end of the day.

good luck!

im 5 weeks in and 12lbs down :)

MIWillNeverLetYouDown · 17/10/2026 07:39

I’m 10 days into 4mg and the appetite suppression isn’t as immediately strong as it was with the 1.5mg but it’s definitely starting to kick in now. Have had a bit of an upset stomach (coupled with a UTI I’ve had all week) so have generally been feeling pretty rubbish; but I’m sure it’ll pass!

squidgem · 17/10/2026 09:16

I'm 8 weeks in now, losing around 1lb a week. It' feels slow but it's consistent, so I'm ok with that.

I'm curious to know if anyone else has experienced a raised heart rate on the tablets? My resting heart rate has trended upwards and recently has been stable at around 10bpm above my norm. I have spoken with my prescribers and they aren't concerned as it is still at a healthy level (72bpm), but it does make me cautious about upping my dose again when the time comes. I have just received my next month continuing on 4mg, so il just keep on eye on it for now.
