BMI Cut Off 21

My BMI is currently 21.5. I’ve readjusted my goal to BMI 20. My current pharmacy has a lower limit of 21 according to their website.

Does that mean they’ll stop prescribing at all at 21?

How do others manage this? I’ve got a new 10mg pen that will last me 5 weeks as I’m using 7.5mg each week. I could just keep my weight as it is on the system and not enter an update.

Long term I’d like to stay on 2.5mg but does this mean I’d need to tell them I’m maintaining at BMI 21? I don’t want to ask the question directly in case it puts a red flag on my account.

Very likely they will stop if you go below 21.

your options are to be honest see what happens, keep to logging weight that is bmi 21 and about are maintaining not losing, or see if another supplier will take you on.

Lotus will take you at 21 and support maintaining below that….

If you look on monj.co.uk there is a maintenance page where it shows the maintenance friendly pharmacies and lowest BMI they will prescribe to.

Just be very careful that you’re not becoming obsessed with losing weight to the point of getting an eating disorder!

Oushk allow down to bmi 19.5, I'm 22 currently. Some people put their weight as higher or height as lower but I have to do a live video call weigh in and height verification so I can't lie!

I’m with Oushk, bmi 20 and has been for a year now. I swapped over to Foundayo this week and when they called me to talk it through they said that with people on ‘lower’ bmis they will be doing weight verification calls more often now which is fine with me

I really don't mean this as judgy but why which a low BMI? Could you instead try to recomp and build some muscle, you would be smaller and sleeker but healthier, and it will help keep the weight off in maintenance.

I manage this by weight lifting! I’ve gain muscle and at BMI 23 I have a 6 pack at approx 18% body fat.

It’s not that low, my bmi is 20, dress size 8, I’m fit and toned, and work out 5 days or so a week, I’ve clear muscle definition, and look a healthy weight. She’s a healthy weight at BMI 20, she’s not aiming for 18 or something.

Why would someone with a BMI of 21 want to use weight loss drugs?

I think you have not understood. She’s not starting at bmi 21, the drugs you take to get to your ideal weight then can stay on a low dose to maintain at that weight. She’s will likely have started obese.

Because I want my legs and tummy to be smaller. BMI 20 is a loose size 8 on my frame, so pre-baby clothes. I started MJ overweight in a size 14.

Someone with a BMI is under 21 who has excess fat they want to lose should consider if their muscle mass is too low. My BMI is 23 and I have a 6 pack.
