Waygovy tablet and a wedding

I have a weekend wedding in 3 weeks time. It’s a very small wedding and it’s my best friend of 40 years getting married.

I will be in London on the Friday. Afternoon tea has been booked at Fortnum and Mason. On the Saturday we have breakfast at the Dorchester where the bridal party are staying. Friend gets married that afternoon before we have a dinner at the Dorchester that evening. Sunday is brunch before we head home.

i am currently on month 2 of the pill. It’s working well but suppression remains strong and I admit to having days of feeling sick and having no energy. I muddle on through with home and work though. I don’t have a huge amount of weight to lose but I am worried about the weekend and my ability to enjoy the food that’s on offer. Has anyone come off their tablet for a similar weekend or have any tips for me please? I am on 1.5. Don’t really eat much more than 1000-1200 calories a day. I have pondered splitting my tablet but I know that can have some suppression issues but I thought some suppression might still be good? It will be difficult to blend in and just not eat much. The entire guest list is only 14.

Personally I would still take the tablet and carry on with my new way of eating. You could pick out what you fancy eating out of what is on the menu and just cover what you leave with a napkin when you're done. In my experience other people are busy talking and looking at their own plate and don't notice what you're leaving behind.

One of the best things I've got out of WLI has been learning to enjoy food more by eating less of it and savouring it. I think when I used to eat so much more I wasn't really even tasting it half the time.

I don’t take the tablets, but you should consider they are the same medication as the weekly injections which have a half life of 7 days, so you may need to stop taking a few days beforehand if you want high suppression to reduce for your weekend.

similar to @MoneyJo I don’t skip the medication, I enjoy tasting the food but just in lower quantities and no one has ever commented.

If your appetite suppression is very high and you feel nauseas, then consider not taking it for a few of days beforehand. If you’re not seriously overweight, you probably don’t actually need it anyway.

It will be difficult to blend in and just not eat much.

Surely you have friends who eat tiny amounts as their normal and don’t stuff themselves silly when eating out? I can’t imagine anyone actually noticing what you’re eating let alone saying anything to you about it unless they’re seriously rude fuckers.

I would not do this.

I have the Wegovy injections rather than tablets, but when I've missed a dose, either through choice or because I was unwell, it really made me feel poorly when I returned to my normal dose. On the first occasion, when I skipped a dose intentionally I ended up with intense stomach cramps and diarrhoea, it was really unpleasant. A different time when I was ill so did not take it, it made me vomit (3 days after) when exercising and I had further (but not as severe) stomach issues for 2/3 days. Not really worth it IMO.

. You can still enjoy the food, just not as much of it. Nobody is going to notice how much you are eating
