Has Mounjaro stopped working after a break?

I had a successful few months on 5mg Mounjaro at the start of the year and lost about 1st. Then I took a break because 5mg was making me very fatigued and I had an intense work period that I had to be high energy for. In the end I was off it for several months and just restarted. Frustratingly, I gained back the stone I lost and this week can't really feel the effects of the Mounjaro in my first week back at 5mg. Has it stopped working or do I need to wait for it to build up again? Has anyone else experienced this?

My experience with MJ is that unfortunately a certain dose only works the first time. I'm for the second time at 7.5 and whilst I don't have side effects as it happened the first time, I also don't have the same suppression.

Gosh, that's annoying, but thanks @cuberoot - how long have you been back on it for?

the Drugs don’t stop working, it’s an urban myth, logically they can’t otherwise they’d never be approved for diabetes and shortly cardio vascular health it would be too dangerous,

what does happen though is diet fatigue sets in, the real effect is not impacted by any excitement or placebo effect the second time,so many users need to go up the doses,

you need to listen to your body, go on a diet, focus on a calorie deficit, eat your protein, consume 3 litres of water a day and let the drugs support you in the background.

ive been on well over 2 years, on a maintenance dose of 5mg, and I have always been able to push through and eat more should I chose, the drugs enable me to hold firm and not do that,

I think it takes a while to get into your system. I did well on mounjaro, then stopped about a year ago, and put 2/3rds of the weight back on (to be fair to myself I had some massive period/peri issues that I had to get sorted and didn't want to be thinking about weightloss at the same time).

I've moved to Ozempic for the last 3 months, and I'd say it's only the last couple of weeks that I've started to actually feel it (and it's not as good as Mounjaro) - the first 2 dose-levels did nothing for me at all.

Thanks @Venusunbroken and @FlatCatYellowMat this all makes a lot of sense. And yes, I think I have probably hoped to feel the same kind of momentum I had before immediately, which was no doubt driving some of my behaviour. I guess it's time to get reorganised about diet and lifestyle and hope that the MJ builds up again.
