Advice on current providers and maintenance plans for a returning user

I started my MJ journey back in November 2024 and lost 3 stone. It worked so well for me! Took it consistently moving up the doses up to 10mg for 7 months and then I moved onto 2.5mg as maintenance for a few months and then I have largely for the last year or so used a 2.5mg pen every now and then when I’ve felt I needed to curb my eating and get back on track.

Right now I feel like I need to commit to a more regular maintenance regime for a few months as old habits creeping back in. Since the start of my journey the market seems to have changed so much and so I could do with some up to date advice and recommendations please!

I started with MedExpress when all they wanted was a photo, had a maintenance plan with oushk at one point when they were first introducing them (pre price increase) and latterly have used Cuva for the odd pen here and there. BMI wise I’m in the normal range now but previously this wasn’t an issue so long as I could prove my history using the drug.

Any advice or recommendations from those more in the know on which are good providers currently, who isn’t going to charge me for a consultation or make me jump through loads of hoops? Who is offering maintenance plans? Which providers will likely accept me and who offers competitive pricing?

Any advice on whether I might want to consider the MJ switch to wegovy as it’s cheaper?

thanks in advance! 🙂 funny to think that at one point I was so immersed in this journey I could have answered all of these questions but I’m currently clueless!

If you look on monj.co.uk you will see a list of maintenance friendly providers in their list.

I am with Swift Doctor. Easily enough to order, quick video and step on scales.

I did have a consultation not long after I joined them with their Dr Bano (£30 for 20 minutes), really nice and very approachable, can be completely honest with her, and it was worth it for long term maintenance. I get £10 off all future orders, have agreed an order break of a few months to use up stock pile, and they allow pens to be used longer than 4 weeks (such as injecting every 2 weeks) which can make it more affordable. I like their combined doctor/pharmacist model.

Pharmulous is also popular on here for maintenance, but I haven't used them.

I am also with Swift Doctor and happy to recommend them. I hit a plateau about a stone above where I planned to maintain so emailed them for advice and they suggested to book my maintenance consultation then. I found the £30 fee well worth it as Dr Bano gave some excellent advice and I have more than recouped that from the £10 off each order since.
They are very flexible with maintenance patients as long as you keep them informed

Oushk charge £5 for 6 months maintenance plan with £25 off each pen for 6 pens of orders and you can order every 6 weeks. The more common maintenance pharmacies are oushk, swift Dr, pharmulous and Lotus but there are others if you look on www.monj.co.uk

MrsMiagi · 17/08/2026 21:09

Swift Dr. I am very happy with them

Buttons0522 · 17/08/2026 22:17

Thanks all this has given me some good starting points to look at. I’d be quite interested in a consultation as I think I have experienced multiple additional benefits to using MJ to the weight loss… I think I have ADHD and it seemed to ease some of those symptoms, as well as improve energy and motivation. Hair loss was a pain though!

Try lotus They have a good FAQ on their website explaining how it works. You can join them with photo evidence of you and of your last prescription box has to be within the last 6 months, bmi as low as 19. I dont think they do paid a consultation to come back. They have a supportive app with a 12 week maintenance programme. Loyalty credits 5% off for next order and other discounts.

Ooh I didn't know that! Thanks for the update. Did we get an email about this as I haven't seen anything?

I pay £15 a month with Oushk and they couldn’t tell me what the limit was to go without re ordering. I haven’t had any contact, they just take my money, but I’m coming up to a year without ordering (have a huge stock pile which they don’t know about and I understand wouldn’t approve). Do I need to re order asap?

Sounds like you are on the flex plan which is unlimited but you will have to go back on 2.5 when you reorder.

Catontheradiator · 21/08/2026 21:32

I had a maintenance consultation with SwiftDoctor today. She agreed my microdose approach and that she would continue to support that for maintenance so I have flexibility to order. We also talked about the non weight loss benefits. I explained I don’t need any for now as I have a stash so she gave me a code, said she would put a note on my file and I order when I’m ready. Great stuff

I believe most maintenance friendly pharmacies say 12 months without ordering (as the expectation is that it is 12 months without medication - not using up a stock pile), possibly Oushk is similar, either way I’d contact them now and find out what your coming up on 12 x £15 = £180 has bought you.

The flexi plan sales pitch is keeping you on books to guarantee prescribing after a break but they never seems to share the important details of how long that is which is concerning.

Its unlimited, I'm with Oushk.

I recommend Swift doctor for maintenance. You pay £30 for consultation and get £10 off each pen. Can have up to a year gap for 2.5mg pens or 7/8 weeks for other pens.

why pay £15 a month when other pharmacies will do this for free?

Please can you tell me details of your microdose regime? What dose do you take and how often? And what benefits does microdosing give you?
I am feeling priced out of the full dose weekly regime, I can't maintain this level of expense, so am very interested in microdosing but don't know how it works or if it still controls hunger. Do microdoses still control hunger?
Thank you

I take 1mg to 1.5mg weekly. I didn’t tolerate 2.5mg well as I was exhausted and upset stomach constantly as it really suppressed my appetite. I’ve never taken a bigger dose. They were happy to support this.
I lost over 6 stone between age 19 and 21 and maintained my entire 20s and into 30s but it got much harder once I hit 40. I didn’t know what food noise was until MJ discussions started and I realised that thinking about what you are going to eat/ can’t eat/ calories of your weekend food One week in advance isn’t normal. I still get normal levels of hunger. I’m just able to cope better and wait for my meal rather than shovelling in a load of snacks and getting hangry while dinner is cooking.
I hit 95g protein most days which helps and I’m active.
I track all my calories and average 1600 a day.

It's unlimited, other pharmacies have a max 12 month limit. Its going down to £10 a month from 1st Sept and oushk give £25 off each pen in a maintenance plan with free consultations.
I chose them because they have a named delivery day, i have never had a delayed delivery since jan 25 and other pharmacies are terrible for delivery and working in nhs Mon - Fri means I need a great delivery service.

Thank you so much.
And on 1,600 cals a day do you maintain or lose?
And how do you measure out 1mg or 1.5mg?xx

I maintain well on that. Some weeks I do 1.25mg and some weeks I do 1mg.
i use a 2.5mg pen and click
count to 24 or 30. If I feel I’m snacking more or start overthinking food I adjust slightly upwards. I’m not too worried about the small fluctuations and neither was swiftdoc
