Do I need to restart Mounjaro at 2.5mg after missed doses?

Hi

I have been on Mj since May started off 2.5mg for 4 weeks and then moved up to 5mg and stayed there

I missed two doses when I went on holiday a few weeks ago not knowing that if you skip two doses you have to start again at 2.5mg , so essentially I wasted near enough a whole pen

I did count clicks ( even though pharmacy said they do not support counting clicks ) and have now taken two weeks of 2.5mg from a 5mg pen with no side affects but very little suppression , there is alot left in the pen but it expires tommorow and I haven't kept it In the fridge .. I assume this can no longer be used? I have see some people do use past expiry and know someone personally who does that but I don't want to

so long story short I assume I now need to order another months worth of 2.5mg which basically doesn't do much ? This seems a Waste of money

Go back to 5 now. It’s not like you were at 15 and had to start again. You’ll be fine

@Boreded but who will prescribe me 5 when there's been a big gap in my order and also the pharmacy (Asda) have messages of me saying I have stopped and they won't approve the click counting

If you have a picture of the box I'd order a 5 from medicine marketplace, they allow 7 weeks between orders and they've been brilliant for me.

Yes I do still have the box maybe I will try that thanks it's just Asda do good discount codes and no delivery costs as you just pick up in store.

I have just reordered 5mg via Asda as they had £15 off it has actually only been 5 weeks since my last order , however because I've told them I had a gap I suspect when the doctors review it they will decline it ..

I had a two week gap when I had surgery and just took my same 7.5mg dose again. I’m now on holiday and will have a 15 day gap and again going to do 7.5mg when I’m home.

Same as you, I wouldn’t use it past the month if it’s out of the fridge.

Keeping my pen in the fridge and I’m counting clicks from a bigger pen. I don’t mind stretching it for 8+ weeks, but I’ve had to keep ordering every 6 weeks. Building my maintenance stash.

Don’t worry too much there is plenty of us who stockpiled during price increases last year with shopping from multiple suppliers at the time and then weeks or even months later ordered new pens on higher doses ! As long as you can proof previous order within a time range (depending on supplier, I store my last 3 boxes just in case) mine allows up to 16 weeks (pillsorted)
not sure if some suppliers do bulk orders now but last year it was common to order 2.5,5 and 7.5 at the same time for some additional bundle doscount this also meant longer gaps between ordering. As long as your bmi is not under 25 (that’s when a gap is harder) you will be fine and shop around on monj for discount codes
