Can I pause Wegovy for a week while on holiday?

Can you take a weeks break from wegovy so that I can eat and drink what I like on holiday and then start it again when I get back?

You can, but doesn’t that defeat the object of paying for Wegovy? You can still enjoy the food on the holiday without having to overdo it.

I know what you mean but I'm only half a stone away from my goal weight. And the injections make me have horrendous heart burn and sickness if I eat anything rich or spicy and have more than one glass of wine. Just fancied a week off but didn't know if it would have any adverse effects?

Also would start the injections up again once I'm back ill be a week behind but won't loose any money

Well, the amount of medication in your system will fall to a lower level than you’ve been used to if you miss a dose. But I guess that’s the effect you want and not an adverse effect. When you inject your normal dose after missing a week you might find the increased amount in your system causes some side effects as it’s a bigger jump up than previously. Or you might not.

i found it took a few weeks to get out of my system before eating and drinking like i used to it wasnt as if you miss an injection and your appetite came back

I ended up stopping it during a 2 week holiday where it was hot, we were on our feet and every day felt a battle to keep hydrated and fed. I felt MUCH better in the second week. I just slowly reintroduced via click counting when a week or 2 after I returned, I actually opted to stay on a lower dose as I hadn’t realised just how much better I felt when it left my system.

I actually lost 1lb on holiday despite eating loads the second week, I guess that’s how rubbish I felt in the first week!

So maybe I should click count and only do half a dose the week before I go as I'm on 1.7 atm. Id just like to feel a bit normal, hydrate and enjoy my food a bit as I havent in months unless its super plain. Id love a few glasses of wine without heartburn and feeling sick the next morning on holiday as well.

I will be lowering the dose very soon anyway as will have reached goal weight soon enough to maintain for a couple of months after

I see. With just one week missed it might not leave your system enough to have the desired affect on holiday. I wouldn’t be on Wegovy if I was getting side effects like that tbh. Does Mounjaro give you the same?
