Advice on meds needed

Hi all, coming in under an alias. I’ve been debating weight loss meds for a while. I have massively struggled with my weight and it’s impacting my day to day, in terms of I think about it so much and really have lower confidence because of it.

I’ve “only” got 2/3 stone to lose but I can’t seem to do it. I go to the gym/peloton but I know that in reality it’s food. I try and then fail over and over.

So, coming to the meds. My best friend did MJ last year and it’s changed her life. For a host of reasons though I don’t really want to do the injections (some due to needle phobia but if I’m being honest I don’t want people to know I’m on any meds). So I’m looking at the new pill. I appreciate its new over here but does anyone have any thoughts/considerations on this - things I should be thinking about etc. cost is obv a huge one which I’m trying to work out but any other tips or thoughts would be massively appreciated.

Thank you so much xx

Well, the new Wegovy tablet is the same medication (semaglutide) as the Wegovy injections and gets similar results in terms of weight loss (a bit less effective) with a similar range of possible side effects.

Unless you tell people, no one will know you are taking injections in the same way they won't know if you are taking tablets - unless you want to keep it from a DP/DH/DW?

Other than that, if you meet the prescribing criteria without any contraindications, then if you want to give it a try then go for it. You can always stop if it isn't for you.
