How careful do I need to be when choosing a supplier? I’m concerned about scams and fake products.

I’m considering taking weight loss injections, but am conscious that there are loads of suppliers offering a range of prices. I’m keen to strike a balance between a good price and a reliable supplier.

I found a post on Mumsnet where a member had helpfully added a link to a price comparison site for the injections. I’ve never heard of almost all the suppliers so don’t know where to start! I anticipate I’d stay on the 2.5 dose for quite a while.

Please can anyone share their thoughts as to whether I could end up being scammed or worse by the suppliers at the cheaper end of the scale? I remember a flurry of news articles and TV interviews warning about fake weight loss injections about 18 months ago which has made me even more wary.

As others have said, monj is a reputable price comparison site. I’ve been on it a year and initially switched suppliers (to get the first time buyers discounts) each month. Eventually I got tired of recording a video of myself on scales and going through all the new questionnaires each month and now I’m with Medicine Marketplace. They don’t offer discounts but so far they are consistently the cheapest supplier. I think I have to upload a new video once every 4 months so that works well for me.

Personally I’d avoid the more expensive ones who lure you in with promise of coaching and a special app etc. I don’t think any of that is necessary. Work out your TDEE and calorie deficit, find a healthy eating plan, take the jab and then discover the magic.

p.s As others have said, you can’t predict how your body will respond. Some stick on 2.5mg and are fine…others have to move up the doses. I‘m on 10mg.

I did alot of research before choosing a company and didn't know those on the monj price list were all ok. I checked that they were indeed a registered pharmaceutical supplier and also checked on the GMC website for any Dr's on their website claiming to be a medical doctor.

OP, if you do take the plunge, find a thread such as 'Jun Mounjaro starters' or 'Jul Mounjaro starters'. I'm on the May group and found it very supportive and helpful to chat to others a week or so ahead or behind me. The one thing that did annoy me and others on that thread, were people from other groups coming along with their codes. Yes, its gets you and them a discount, but if felt very much like MLM! Also, I don't care of the saving is £0 or £100, its the overall cost and quality of company I care about.

If you have a bluelight card, some on the list are cheaper anyways. As others have said, check T&C's closely if you don't want to get tied into a subscription. Once I'd done 5 weeks of 2.5mg with my 1st pen, I ordered a 5mg pen. There is a way to use 'clicks' so if you don't want to jump straight to 5mg, you can use a lower dose, from a stronger pen. I've started with 3mg, so my 5mg pen will last longer than just 4 doses, so that too can be a saving. x

Edited to say that I also checked the address the company claimed to be from. I checked on streetview to see if it was someone's house or an actual factory/shop. Also, to check it was an actual address and not ficticious.
