Was on wegovy for two years - lost 2 stone but plateaued. Took max dose . BMI was 25 when i came off. Moved onto Mounjaro as many friends said it was more effective. Been on it for 4 months and lost absolutely nothing. I had to start on MJ on lowest dose and moved up every month to 10 ml . I am still really hungry and havent lost my appetite. Will i not see any benefit until on max 15ml ? Drink water and no side effects except hair loss! Help! Anyone shifted from wegovy to MJ ? If so did you have to reach max dose before any results..

Hi. Sorry to hear you haven't had the results you were hoping for. I recommend the following

  1. Discuss with GP - sounds obvious but would strongly recommend even if you bought the medicines online.
  2. Ask GP if it's worth checking your bloods - I'd be asking about liver function tests not just FBC, U&Es and maybe iron levels - there could be many reasons why you're no longer benefitting and sorry to say this but it sounds like persisting with mounjaro may carry more risks than benefits for you.
  3. Ask GP if it's worth stopping it for a while but don't stop without seeking medical advice first.
  4. If your bloods are fine and you have no other symptoms, you could consider clinical trials and see if you're eligible for any. You'll be monitored closely.

If you aren't changing your diet and habits, then no it won't change anything. It's supportive not curative.

You still have to put in the hard work. But it also isn't necessarily enough support for everyone to do that.

At bmi 25 you can’t have much to lose , the final few lbs are always the hardest to shift

Twasasurprise · 26/06/2026 19:17

Having been on max dose WG and plateaued, you probably will need the larger doses of MJ.

Impressive that you lost 2 stone of hair!...

WLI were designed for treating obesity so if you’re already at bmi 25, maybe they won’t make much of a difference to you?

Some silly answers on here, the op is still technically over weight at bmi 25, so yes she could easily lose a couple of stone and still be a heakfhy weight.

op, if you’re not losing you’re eating to maintenance, very unusual to lose your hair with such little loss, although your diet could be bad, as we know the drugs don’t cause it, rapid weigh loss does.

but the drugs don’t work for 20 percent of people and I’d guess you’re one of them, so I’d not spend any more.

Personally I would persist through 12.5mg and 15mg if necessary as it may be that you reach the point of effectiveness at one of those doses. It would be a shame to stop and not find that out.
