Has anyone been prescribed an anti-sickness medicine with Mounjaro or Wegovy?

Has anyone been prescribed an emetic with Mounjaro/Wegovy?

I tried both last year but had such terrible vomiting and diarrhoea that I gave up.

However I think my bowels are in a better state generally now due to avoiding all ultra-processed foods and taking Symprove for several months.

And im ashamed to say that my weight has SOARED during a really stressful time 😭😭.

So I'm desperate to give the jabs another try but want to know whether anyone has had an anti-emetic prescribed and by which pharmacy. Was with Asda before.

I’m with Voy and they send a care package in your first order which includes Cyclizine for nausea and vomiting

Oh thanks, that's great news. I might try Voy. Heard good things about their support bot

I really like their app but be warned, they are more expensive than a lot of other providers!

Thanks @Trumptontown I'll have a look and see

not quite what you asked but could you start on a partial dose? MJ is supposed to be better for sickness so I’d try that and got for a quarter dose the first week and build slowly.

Yes, from GP who is supportive and happy to treat side effects even if I order M from a pharmacy.

PearlsTeapot · 11/07/2026 19:40

My GP wouldn't give me any due to me getting mounjaro from a pharmacy.

I was so frightened of sickness (I have emetophobia) that I started on a half dose of 1.25 for 6 weeks then built it up. Could you do that? I still lost weight, slowly. A stone in that time.

BerfyTigot · 11/07/2026 21:01

Thanks @Deborah133 I did eventually start on Wednesday.

I went with Voy which as @Trumptontown said are pricey, but I really wanted the anti emetic.

I also started on a half dose (1.25mg) like @PearlsTeapot and @obsessional suggested and haven't had any problems, which is astonishing me! Might be the low dose or the improved gut health but i haven't needed the anti emetic at all.

It's already helping a bit at that low dose, so I'm trying to decide whether to stay on this dose for another week or two.

@Relaxd great that your GP is so supportive!
