New tablets

Is anyone signing up for the tablets? I’ve lost 3.5 stone of which the last stone has taken me a whole year of calorie counting. I’m still overweight with a BMI of 27 and newly diagnosed high blood pressure.
I do wander now if I should pre order the tablets now they are available and shift the last of my weight?
To put into perspective I eat 1400 calories a day, 15k steps a day, swimming, weight lifting and have been at a weight since March today I’m 2lbs up again. Nothing is shifting

I’m considering it. Not done jabs as I thought that I should be able to do it with willpower, but the food noise is relentless. I exercise 2/3 times a week but exercise makes me ravenous. Checked my blood pressure yesterday and it was up, so I think I need to do something.

I’ve done lots by will power over 18 months but I’m fed up of this bouncing around and thinking about my next meal. Injections bothered me as once in you can’t take it out but with tablets I could adjust the dose and stop if really bad. Think I’m going to order today and hopefully be at goal
weight. Hoping it’ll help my inflamed joints and menopause too

Please let me know how you find it.

Are the tablets Wegovy type tablets?

socks1107 · 13/06/2026 09:29

@Cafog yes I believe so. I considered injections all the time but have held off because of side effects. I feel a bit more comfortable with it being a tablet. I’m getting quite frustrated now and a stone in a year has driven me potty at times! Going to sort a pre order this week

Completely understand the concern with injections as it is such an alien way to self medicate, but be aware the tablets are semaglutide too so they are the same medication as the injection with the same 7 day half life so once in your blood stream whichever route you took it you still “can’t take it out”.

Wegovy injections start at weekly 0.25mg, pills higher at daily 1.5mg as absorption is much poorer through stomach. How that compares to build up of concentration of medication in bloodstream I don’t know and that’s what you need to understand if you are considering adjusting doses. It won’t be as simple as adjust and next day you see a direct effect, the 7 day half life is still there.

I thought you took the tablets every day though, so if you take them every day surely it’s because the medication affect has gone? Or is it not every day?

Are they available? I’ve lost 7.5 stones myself over the last few years and had got below 11 stone but it’s starting to creep up as my health improves along with my snacking appetite and I want to nip it in the bud.

I don’t think they are available quite yet, I think you put your name on a list to be contacted when they are.
