Tiredness after dose increase - pushing through!

Crossfitgirl · 12/06/2026 10:16

I've just gone up a dose of wegovy and I'm absolutely bloody knackered.
So much so, I have been too exhausted to exercise.
I have had this with other dose increases and it's worn off eventually but I need to push through this time so...

Does anyone else get this and how to overcome it and crack on with the diet and exercise? I had increased the dose to kick start a big push after a plateau, with the plan of really going for it to lose another half stone before I stop (I only plan to stay on for 1 more month). However, I've struggled to do this.

Of course, I'm a busy working mum who solo parents during the week, and I'm shit at going to bed early so this is definitely a factor too, but how does everyone else get through when they're tired? Any tips? Anything that's made it easier?

I have got ready meals in this week which has helped A LOT but I've struggled to find appetising ones, and still crave sugar due to the tiredness.

Even if you can just relate, give me a shout so I feel reassured it's not just me!

Poor you! I completely relate! I’m on mounjaro but have found the exhaustion terrible. And low mood too. I’ve now gone down to half the lowest MJ dose and am feeling a bit better and able to exercise a bit again. I haven’t got much more to lose thank god. Sending support and solidarity your way ❤️

I’ve been on Mounjaro nearly 18 months. Maximum I’ve gone up to is 7.5 mg. I lost 2 stone very slowly over a year, which is great.

However I’m 1 stone off my supposed target, but I’m finding the side-effects of fatigue and nausea and dull background headache and miserableness, even though they are relatively mild and only last for the first couple of days, too much to handle. So I can’t go up a dose, and am currently finding it difficult even at 7.5 mg.

I’m now going to lower the dose as much as I can now, perhaps to 5 mg, or even less. See what happens. I hope that provides enough for maintenance whilst minimising side effects as much as possible. I’m prepared to feel a bit rubbish for one day, but no more than that.

Any advice, such that I have, is to go as soon as you can, keep the dose as low as you can, to try keep side effects to an absolute minimum.

*that was go slow as you can - last paragraph

It does get better as your body adjusts! But it definitely took me a while!

It didn’t get that much better for me, I’m 18 months in!!

Thanks - I didn't intend to go higher than 0.5mg to be honest but I think I'd rather have one last push then come off, as it's much easier for me to maintain without the jabs than it is to actually lose without the jabs, iyswim. Good to know I am not alone, I have managed a short home work out today but definitely haven't felt able to the few days post jab. It's literally like early pregnancy. I can barely face eating and don't even know what I want, I'm exhausted, with occasional mild nausea. It's grim! It seems to have worn off a bit towards the end of the week, but I'll be 48 hours post jab (the second one at this dose) tomorrow so I'm bracing myself for it starting again!

Yh @Crossfitgirl its ironic is t it, feeling too unwell or fatigued to do any exercise 🙄 !! That’s not how it’s meant to work surely!

I hope you find what works for you. I suppose I’ll just see how low a dose I can go with it still having some positive effect 🤷‍♀️.

I'm on Wegovy too 💙 and I definitely felt more tired after one of my dose increases. I lowered my expectations for a week or two and just focused on gentle walks and simple meals until my energy came back. You're definitely not alone 🤗🌸.

Yesterday I took my 4th dose of 7.5mg, exhausted. First day I take it I’m nauseous and feel sick at the sight of food, in the middle last night I actually threw up, but I did go to bed feeling as though I could throw up. Stomach hurts a lot and I don’t know whether it’s the dose, a bug, or nerves because my child is taking their exams and it’s not going well. Today I feel lousy, and the thought of food turns my stomach. I’ve been to the loo 4 times since yesterday morning. Am contemplating reducing my dose down to 7mg next week if not lower. Trouble is, I have 1 stone to lose still to get to healthy bmi and 1/2 stone left to get me to my goal weight. At this dose I’m losing on average 0.1lb per week!
