Has anyone gone back to mounjaro from wegovy? Alternatively, has anyone tried the 7.2mg of wegovy?

I started taking mounjaro in 2024. Over the first six months or so I had a hugely positive reaction to it. I lost a lot of weight, about 6 stone or so.

Then, it levelled off (honestly for the best!), and I lost a further two stone over the following year. That included a few breaks for various health reasons (nothing related to the weight loss), and a holiday.

In January of this year I switched to wegovy because of the cost, after probably a month or so off mounjaro. I have found it okay. Nowhere near as effective as mounjaro and I have lost a stone over the last six months.

i’m in a better financial position now and I’ve crunched the numbers, I could realistically afford mounjaro again. I could go all the way up to 15mg, but last time I found 7.5 to be the most effective for me. I did this after looking at the cost of the 7.2mg pens from oushk.

Has anyone made the switch back?

I’m basically in the position now where I have an entire 2.4mg pen left and then id like to make a decision. I would either switch back to mounjaro, or give the 7.2mg of wegovy a go. The news around the trial of the 7.2mg does fill me with some hope, but I’d really like some experiences to help me make up my mind!

I tried the 7.2mg wasn’t effective in breaking my stall though so went back to MJ.

How did you find working up from 2.5mg again on the mounjaro?

I was on 15mg then went to 7.2 mg Wegovy then went back to 15mg I put on a couple of lbs when I was on the Wegovy

I did it because I couldn’t bring myself to pay the £290 for MJ after the price hikes. I had bulk bought MJ . I paid £309 for my last MJ 15 mg Shock

I’ve just found 7.2mg of wegovy is £202 at medicine marketplace

I’m just reluctant to lose a lot of the hard work I’ve been putting in

It might be fine for you if you are only on 7.5mg MJ - it wasn’t terrible

I got to 1.7mg on Wegovy and made the switch to Mounjaro 2.5mg just before the price hikes around August last year. Bad decision financially but I actually feel the difference in appetite. Mounjaro seems to work for me but I do suffer worse side effects than that of Wegovy.
