ADHD and the jabs

Over the last few years I have tried several different jabs and none of them have worked.
I was diagnosed with adhd last year and still have a long wait to start medication. Currently on Ozempic and sometimes I feel less like I need to eat compulsively but I’ve gained weight.
I’m so sick of feeling fat and greedy and like my brain isn’t working properly. Does anyone else have ADHD and has found the jabs haven’t helped? Any diets I have managed in the past have either failed or I’ve become obsessive about weight loss and eaten very little.

I never made the connection but me! I did Mounjaro for 6 months , went up to 15mg. Was loosing about 3lb a month and that felt like a slog. I felt sick for a day then by then ravenous. Never entered my head it might be connected to my ADHD

Interesting. I am nearing the top of a waiting list to get the jabs via the NHS but I'm not 100% sure I want this pathway. If ADHD is going to cock it up for me that will be very annoying. I wonder if there have been any studies on this question.

This was the experience I had with Mounjaro and also went to the top dose.

I am not sure what you're trying to get at?
You say you've tried several different jabs over the years but afaik only wegovy and mounjaro have been available as jabs in the UK ,and that has been relatively recently.
I have audhd and mounjaro calmed it down, and as a side effect it was better than the weight loss,if you haven't tried mounjaro give it a go.

I have ADHD and MJ has really helped. My mind feels less busy and my mood is calmer. I feel like along with quieting the food noise it quieted other noise. I'm also steadily losing 2lb a week on 5mg.

I don't think the link is well-researched but there seems to be a growing body of anecdotal evidence that some people with ADHD find that the effect of GLP1 on their dopamine pathways is very helpful. Did your diagnosis distinguish the type of ADHD that you have?

If the GLP1 isn't working, could you explore putting the money you are spending on Wegovy towards a private prescription for ADHD medication? It may be that treating your ADHD makes it possible for you to lose weight without a GLP1.

@Raspberryhat OP may also have tried Saxenda (liraglutide), which has been available in the UK for a while.

I have adhd jabs worked well for me. But when I came off then the weight came back.
Ive spent a similar amount of money in a caching program. Where im actually learning how to manage my weigh and the importance of protein etc. I’m happier with the results compared to the injections.
