Nope. Lost over 6 stones and feel so much better. Wish they were around 20 years ago. Been on them 2 years now and hoping to stay on them indefinitely

Pancakesandcream33 · 04/06/2026 19:32

For all the women who have lost 5-7 stone, how is your skin? Are you finding it sags a lot? I went from a 18-8 in my 20s and I was left with very stretchy/saggy skin and the worst bingo wings (flaps) in the world 😅 I had to go back up to a 12 to fill in

Cielicanth · 04/06/2026 19:32

@Evasmissingletter , don't discuss it with them then, they are generally negative, I don't really know why, maybe because this one drug is overwhelmingly and staggeringly beneficial for everyone I've met taking it,not just for weight loss, but for joint pain,IBS, lowering of blood pressure T2 diabetes and a myriad other things,it's truly miraculous and maybe GP's feel threatened by it, I think a lot of them just don't really understand it. I haven't told my doctor and have no intention of doing so , several stone down and I couldn't feel better.

Overtheatlantic · 04/06/2026 19:33

My toes still tingle when I inject 😆 otherwise I’ve lost 50 lbs and my blood pressure is normal finally and my diabetic nurse is very happy with me. I’m also loving clothes again.

Wegovy is cheaper, MJ is marginally more effective and has fewer side effects.

828Pax · 04/06/2026 19:46

Genuinely, they have been the best thing I have ever done for my health and happiness

ShrankLastWinter · 04/06/2026 19:46

I’m another with a history of depression and anxiety. My anxiety is much lower on MJ. Possibly my mood is a bit flat, but nothing that matters. I think my mood is more stable, which I like.

I've lost 5.5 stone and my skin is fine. I'm 44. I think it's just luck to be honest though! My neck is tiny bit crepier at the wrong angle but I can live with that. Overall everyone says I look younger.

Yes, I regretting taking it. I couldn't eat because of the fullness and was living on a slimfast drink a day which made me ill.

Not only did it suppress my appetite but suppressed my whole system. I was exhausted and depressed for the last two weeks. I thought the side effects would ease off but I couldn't hack it and came off it after 4 weeks.

Since coming off it 9 weeks ago, I've lost 20lbs on my own.

Just a point to note that depending on the meds you took it generally takes up to 6 weeks to metabolise out of your system. It’s most likely that you didn’t tolerate that particular drug or dose, and potentially that it did help you lose those 20lbs if you never managed to loose 20lbs on your own before.

God no, they’re the best thing ever invented in my opinion.

I’ve lost 4 stones with one more to go and I intend staying on them forever as they do far more for me than just help with weight loss.

I’ve never felt as good as I do now in my 60’s!

When did you start feeling good? I’m on 5mg and slightly struggling and definitely wouldn’t say I felt good

CornishPorsche · 04/06/2026 19:58

I'm mentally much more positive and stable on MJ, it's astonishing. I am still on St John's Wort though.

Ref skin - I'm 7 stone down. I have a turkey neck which I detest, very saggy arms which I'm working on, my belly seems to have escaped anything dramatic but my inner thighs..... I didn't expect that but they are terrible. Very loose skin and wrinkly, deflated etc. I might actually consider surgery for that area in future but the rest I can live with.

I will have lost ten stone by the time this is done so it's not a surprise!

StraightTalkingTina · 04/06/2026 20:00

Mounjaro has completely and I mean completely obliterated my IBS. I had anxiety because of the o of living with IBS and therefore also gone.

the main side effects were tiredness and feeling cold all the time! I spent my winter nights getting under the duvet at 6pm despite the heating on and clothes.

Ive gently lost 24lbs now over 6 months, bmi is 25 so I’m aiming for another half a stone then will start weaning down to maintenance. I would deff stay on it if it’s viable for the IBS and inflammation results alone.

roll on the maintenance pills…

Shmee1988 · 04/06/2026 20:04

Absolutely not! The only thing I regret is stopping him for 7 months and piling alot of what I lost back on. Im back on them now and have a completely different mind set. Go for it!

Eyelashesoffire · 04/06/2026 20:07

@Ineedanewsofa can I ask about your nerve pain? I've got nerve pain and my ears pricked up at the thought of WLI curing it!

Overtheatlantic · 04/06/2026 20:11

I’ve got crepey skin on my upper arms, inner thighs, and tummy. I’m 58. I never exposed those areas before I gained weight so I’m not bothered by the crepe.

Yeah, you're right about that. It definitely was in my system and reduced my appetite for a good few weeks. In fact I feel like I still can't eat a lot but I'm not complaining 😂

I have lost weight on my own before but I was just looking for a wee bit of help. Alas, it was not meant to be.

Food noise is not about hunger at all. It’s about the constant mental noise related to eating and food. So a constant chatter internally about what you should be eating, how many calories in things, the tub of ice cream in the fridge and whether or not to eat some/all and just get some more. The urge to eat when not at all hungry and in fact still over full from whatever you last ate, which then triggers an internal dialogue of self judgement and negative self thoughts…. Just endless thoughts about food.

Well, it's a lot easier to not think about food when you're not hungry!
I think we're probably using slightly different definitions of hunger though. I would really crave sweet things and I would think of it as hunger and it was probably more of a stress response. I think unfortunately for a lot of us who grew up in the nineties/naughties, we were trained to constantly think about, and feel guilt about, food.

SilenceInside · 04/06/2026 22:10

Yeah, cravings I wouldn’t describe as hunger. Hunger to me means the physical sensations of hunger that build the longer you go without eating. Clearly those physical symptoms cause a mental reaction, as all animals need to respond to hunger by seeking out food and making decisions to do that.

pottydimley · 04/06/2026 22:11

Has anyone previously had bariatric surgery and put on weight, then turned to WL jabs?

Ineedanewsofa · 04/06/2026 22:26

Eyelashesoffire · 04/06/2026 20:07

@Ineedanewsofa can I ask about your nerve pain? I've got nerve pain and my ears pricked up at the thought of WLI curing it!

I had carpal tunnel, Achilles tendonopathy and inflammation of the peroneal nerves in my feet, which meant I was low level aching on a good day and in a fair amount of pain and struggling to walk on bad ones.
All gone within 3 jabs, absolutely life changing.
I also know someone with rheumatoid arthritis who is effectively in remission and the only change she has made is taking MJ. Her GP is fascinated.

NCTDN · 04/06/2026 22:28

It would be interesting to see this as a poll as the yes answers far outweigh the nos.
I’m still a skeptic, I worry too much about the side effects.

pepayfelix · 04/06/2026 22:29

No regrets. They have changed my life.

SilenceInside · 04/06/2026 22:32

@NCTDN I think the decision point for anyone considering WLI is whether you consider the real ongoing impacts of obesity on your health and wellbeing to be more or less of an issue than the possible risk of side effects from medication.

AnneElliott · 04/06/2026 22:34

No regrets - only I wish I’d done it sooner. 6 stone down and no real side effects and it started working straight away.
