Can I change pharmacy when increasing my Wegovy dose to save money?

Have just completed first four weeks on 0.25 of Wegovy and ready to move up to next dose. Do I have to stick with the same pharmacy, or can I swap to another to try to get another discount code?

Yes, you can swap to another pharmacy. When you fill out their online consultation form it will ask if you are already on a weight loss injection, you say yes and what dose. You will be asked for proof of prescription alongside the usual ID info. Proof of prescription can be a photo of the prescription label on the box your first pen came in.

You should be able to select to either have the same dose or the next one up (or down).

Brilliant, thank you. Will have a dig around for the box.

Yes I pharmacy swap almost every month for both me and DP, it is a small amount of work, but nothing major. Some pharmacies are easier than others. This month I used Bolt for DP and IQ Doctor for me and both were super easier, particularly IQ doctor.

I'm on Wegovy but have found a similar price comparison. Thanks!

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but it depends on whether you bought your first pen as a one off or if you signed up to a subscription - many offer a initial month heavily discounted in return for signing up, and if so you'll need to check what their conditions are for breaking it. Eg I signed up for 3 months with Voy, first month was around £90, second is £160, and if I were to try and switch I'd have to pay a fee to end the contract early.

I didn’t sign up for a subscription. Quite happy to do a wee bit of form filling every 4 weeks to get cheaper prices.

Some pharmacies automatically/ sneakily sign you up for a subscription so just keep an eye out and self cancel the subscription if you are pharmacy hoping.

SilenceInside · 02/06/2026 16:21

There's only a short list of subscription operators listed on the iGovy comparison site, and none of them hide it or sign you up without your consent, unless people aren't reading the details of what they are agreeing to.

I'm on the May starters thread, but for Monj. Someone on there moved to Bolt for their next dose, but after completing the questionnaire, were told they needed to stay on the same dose. She wasn't sure what she'd answered to get that reply, but was disappointment not to move up a dose. Maybe it was a one off, but its something to consider or see if others have had the same issue.

TipsyLaird · 02/06/2026 17:27

I tried Bolt - they said no. Had my first month from Zava, second on its way from IQ Doctor.
