How are you getting your protein in the hot weather?

I'm nowhere near hitting my GLP1 protein targets currently, it's so hot, all I want to eat is cucumber!

What is everyone else eating to get their protein in during the warmer weather? Especially as it also just feels too hot to cook 🥵

I just had a salad & put cheese, ham & a boiled egg into it.

DeftGoldHedgehog · 26/05/2026 14:11

Cold cooked chicken breast, always buy them every week from Tesco and you can have them hot if you want to. Cooked prawns also have tons of protein. Boiling eggs or scrambling in the microwave, or frittata in air fryer are also good.

EveryDayisFriday · 26/05/2026 14:13

Eggs and ham with breakfast

Just about to have chicken wings for lunch (I'll wait for them to get cool first)

Salmon and salad for dinner.

dizzyupthegirl86 · 26/05/2026 14:28

Clear whey, it’s so much more refreshing than a normal protein shake!

GiveMeWordGames · 26/05/2026 14:43

5% greek yoghurt with berries for breakfast. Or eggs.

Cold cooked chicken or ham or pastrami for lunch with salad, possibly chuck a bit of feta in the salad, or a handful of cashews. Avocado if available.

Something similar for dinner, ie meaty protein and salad. Or quiche.

morbidcuriosity · 26/05/2026 14:58

Hard boiled eggs, chicken breast, tuna and protein shakes..
Summer salads with extra meat.

Rockgrin · 26/05/2026 15:05

I know it isn't ideal, but I've been having those protein mousses and greek yoghurt with berries, nuts and seeds.

Can't face the idea of cooking or eating anything hot at the moment!

perimenopoppet · 26/05/2026 15:16

Also cold cooked chicken here with cheese, hummus, salad and pumpkin seeds in a protein wrap or pitta bread. Followed by protein yogurt with berries. Nuts and fruit for snacks. No need to have the oven on at all.

PeonyPassion · 26/05/2026 15:19

I had a salad of watermelon, prawns and feta for lunch.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 26/05/2026 15:23

Cold konjac noodle salad, green goddess-style dressing made with a full block of silken tofu whizzed up in the blender. 22g protein in the tofu alone.

MiddleAgedDread · 26/05/2026 15:26

I'm eating my own bodyweight in salad and bought some easy to cook protein to go with it.....had tandoori chicken breasts done in the air fryer last night, got some marinated salmon fillets for tonight, had tinned tuna at lunchtime, planning a nicoise style salad another evening, will probably have scrambled eggs on bagel one lunchtime....

CherryViper · 26/05/2026 15:55

Tinned tuna, Greek yoghurt, boiled eggs, I grilled a lot of chicken breasts.

We have a plate in this weather. Lunch was strawberries, cherries, blueberries, cubes of cheese, ham, chicken, cucumber, carrots and mange tout.

Tomorrow's lunch is tuna with yoghurt, spring onions and seasonings in red pepper quarters.

People manage to cook in hot countries stop being a wimp.

Have some boiled egg with a salad, or Greek yoghurt or cottage cheese. An egg white omelette or a chicken wrap.

fartotheleftside · 26/05/2026 16:26

I just had a makeshift potato salad but with cottage cheese instead of mayonnaise/sour cream.

probably wouldn’t serve it at a dinner party but it worked for me! You could also add an egg.

fartotheleftside · 26/05/2026 16:29

Smoked salmon also good

WeAllHaveWings · 26/05/2026 17:02

Burgers and sausages Healthy Chicken kebabs on BBQ or in airfryer with pita bread and huge pile of chopped salad.

Top up with Clear protein drinks with lots of ice.

Greek yoghurt for breakfast. Boiled egg for a snack. Just heading to Nando’s for dinner, so chicken.

Just increased to 10mg MJ and I don’t want to eat at all though.

@WeAllHaveWings please can you share the clear protein drink you mentioned? Thanks 🙏

Perimenoanti · 26/05/2026 18:20

Jacket potato with grahams quark. Lovely with a bit of salt and pepper and herbs.

Calliopespa · 26/05/2026 18:24

We seem to be living off protein and salad!

Barbecued fish, barbecued steak, barbecued chicken mini fillets and barbecued lamb loin, served with lovely crispy gem lettuce and then fresh and zesty sauces such as tzatziki, labneh and chimmichurri.

It's the carbs we are eschewing in the heat! Just a few berries for dessert.

I like My Vegan clear protein from My Protein. I’m not vegan/vegetarian but prefer the taste to their whey based clear protein although I think you get more protein from the whey ones. You can buy sample boxes of different flavours so you can try before committing to a big tub.

reluctantbrit · 26/05/2026 19:16

Greek yogurt for breakfast and snack

Pesto pasta with chip Ken for lunch - leftover from dinner yesterday

Beef burger for dinner

I hate salads so I normally do cook something fast and live my air fryer for it.

AlexandraPeppernose · 26/05/2026 19:17

I did kedgeree as it has fish, eggs and peas. Gave me 38g of protein.

ParadiseIsNoBunker · 26/05/2026 19:24

I roasted a chicken and some salmon at 7am Sunday morning. That with salad on repeat (and eggs for breakfast).

7238SM · 26/05/2026 19:41

I'm a newbie and balancing high protein with high fibre.

-High protein yoghurt/skyr with chia seeds, berries and a sprinkling high fibre/no sugar granola
-lower fat quiche or frittata
-Grilled chicken thighs
-Rye or other higher fibre bread open topped sandwich. Sometimes cream cheese, salmon and cucumber/lettuce

Looking for more inspiration too though.
