GLP-1 low dose for inflammation?

Has anyone gone on a GLP-1 to try reduce inflammatory conditions in the body? I am overweight but have been too afraid to try any of these treatments because of all the risks I read about in the press. However, I have also read about joint pain going away, rosacea going away etc when people went on these GLP-1s. Do you take a lower dose? If so, does a lower dose help with weight loss? Thank you for any advice.

@PearlsTeapot this is so interesting. I also have Lipodema which is worsening - especially now I’ve started HRT. but don’t have bmi over 30 - does your provider take Lipodema into account or are there any that do? I’m so keen to try a v low dose to see if it helps but no idea how. I’ve tried everything else, and I don’t want to go down the surgery route if I can avoid it

@Definitelysometime I'm sure I've read about a provider prescribng for under 30 but I can't remember who. Start a thread, someone will help you.

I've had auto immune thyroid disease and scleritis for 15 years, I possibly also have sarcoidosis too. Prior to mounjaro I was seemingly locked in a 8 weekly cycle of scleritis flare ups, back up on the steroids and then it flaring up again as soon as I tapered the steroids. Plus my chest would be horrendous all winter. Since starting it nearly two years ago I've had one scleritis flare up and my coughing has been noticeably reduced both winters.

For this reason I am prioritising Mounjaro over a lot of other things. It's transformed my life, in fact it's given me my life back.

I've been on Mounjaro since November 24. Lost 35kg. Have been at goal weight for quite a while now, so just on maintenance now.
For me, my joint pain disappeared pretty quickly after starting Mounjaro, and definitely before I reached a healthy weight. So anecdotally - maybe the impact on inflammation isn't completely tied to weight loss.
In terms of doses, I lost most of the weight on doses of 2.5 and 3.75. I eventually moved to 5 mg, but very very slowly. By going up very slowly I avoided most of the side effects - I had two or three episodes of gastric upset, always on dose increases.
