Can you tell if a weight loss pen is the older type?

Can you tell just by looking at a pen if it is one of the older types with the extra dose? I'm guessing it's not as straightforward forward as from 1st April all new pens delivered were the new type?

Yes you can tell, and no it’s not as simple as all pens from the 1st April are the new ones. The pharmacies will be working through their existing stock, and the new style pens will be sent out when Lilly have used up their old stock too.

The difference is that the plunger is already part way down the unused pen and has a black rubber part behind it to take up the space.
