Ankle oedema and wli increase?

I started WLI a year ago (MJ) and I’ve lost 4 stone. The difference has been amazing in my
movement and inflammation (which if I’m honest was one of the main reasons I decided
to try them)

Today I moved from 5mg to 6 as 5 just wasn’t doing enough for me anymore and I still have a stone to go - still considered overweight but I’ll be happy at that.

I put on shorts and noticed that I had very prominent oedema around my socks and ankles. I haven’t had that since I started MJ and it freaked me out. I’ve no idea why that would make an appearance now. It’s not hot here by any stretch of the imagination, maybe 15 degrees c in the sun. Hearts fine, kidneys working fine not dehydrated and no side effects, BP normal.

I’ve not had nice legs for a very long time and while I do have lipodema (fat not fluid)at my knees and thighs my ankles and calves have always been fine and I was looking forward
to to being able to wear knee length shorts for the first time in years but I can’t if I get 1” overhangs of fluid.

Could this be related to upp By my dose slightly or am I just old now and to expect swollen legs and ankles as part of a shit genetics of aging ?

Was it masked by the extra weight do you think? I’ve started noticing it this year, age 57. Ankle/foot exercises seemed to help, as well as keeping them up.

I don’t think so. I had a lot of water retention on steroids which was what made me put on weight in the first place but it was also the first thing that went when I started wli and I haven’t had it in a year since.

It went away when I put my legs up but I’d hoped I’d have a summer where I didn’t need to hide my lower legs for once.

This won’t be the drugs causing it, that would be very unusual , but potentially if you wish the drugs to reduce it then your dose is no longer high enough.
