I am on Wegovy and first two jabs were a dream other than a bit of an upset tummy.

A day after the 3rd jab and I have had d&v symptoms for the last six days 😭. I was nearly sick on the school run this morning…

It is making me so miserable and I’m dreading the next jab.

What can I do to settle my stomach and eat more?

Did anyone here suffer similarly and get through it ok?

All advice gratefully received.

Firstly, I would not inject the next dose if you are still having D&V. You can delay it by a day or two if necessary. You could also consider doing a smaller partial dose next time rather than the full dose.

Alongside OTC treatments for D&V you can try eating small amounts of very bland low fat things. Some people find ginger or peppermint tea can help too.

Thank you - that’s good advice re:low fat and delaying the jab by a few days. I just want to feel better again but don’t want to throw in the towel to achieve that.

Lower dose. There is no hurry. I was VERY cautious on MJ but it paid off in so far as I suffered very few side-effects.

hoodiemassive · 24/04/2026 13:27

@PaxLeopard did you go lower than 0.25 - I think I’ll try that and delay the next jab by a day. I have only just stopped feeling dreadfully sick and can’t do another 6 days like that or I’ll go mad.

I was on Mounjaro. I did half the normal starting dose because I was literally terrified of some of the side-effects I read especially around diarrhoea and vomiting. I had to get the extra special needles to do that, there’s lots of explaining of this in the threads if you want to look it up. Then I went up very slowly. Some people only need really tiny doses, others need to go up to the full dose. In a way you’re lucky if you only need a small dose, as it will be a lot cheaper! These drugs work well for most people, so there is no need to race to the end, and make oneself feel ill in the process. The only real side-effect I had was a rash, a very nasty rash, on my leg at one point, which I didn’t even realise it was a side-effect. I’ve had virtually no Gastro side effects. Just some fatigue sometimes as if it gets too much I lowered the dose again. I want to be slim, but I don’t want to feel ill. So, for me, it’s a Balance. I could lose another stone to get within the so-called BMI guidelines, but I’m pretty happy where I am. On average average, I only lost a 0.5 to 1 lb a week. And I’ve stopped losing weight altogether now but I’m very stable, so I’m content with that. Good luck and take it easy :) I hope you feel better soon

Thanks so much for your reply! I feel less sick today but still have diarrhoea which is horrible. I’m going to try a smaller next dose via counting clicks but also wait a day to take my next dose.

I kept hoping I would respond well to Wegovy especially since it is generally less effective than mounjaro but now I wish I didn’t respond quite as violently 😂

I really want to stay on it and am keeping everything crossed my response calms down and I loose the side effects.

Could you have picked up a bug rather than it being the WLI especially as you’re eating much less food?

What sort of foods are you eating?

I can’t eat anything vaguely fatty otherwise I feel unwell so I stick to lean protein such as chicken and fish and lots of salad and vegetables.

Backawayfromthesausage · 24/04/2026 16:31

Wegovy has more side effects that mounjaro, the dual agonist protects against some of them in mounjaro.

for most it’s about whay they eat, too much fat or sugar can see you unwell. But as this has been so long and as it’s near out of your system you could have a bug,

PaxLeopard · 24/04/2026 16:50

Sorry, I was getting confused, OP. Yes, I just lowered the number of clicks for Mounjaro. The extra needle thing was for the bonus doses!

Sunseansandandautism · 24/04/2026 16:51

Use over the counter meds.

hoodiemassive · 24/04/2026 22:53

Update is I stopped feeling sick at lunchtime today - I think it has to be the jab rather than a bug because it’s gone on for six days and no one else in the house is ill.

Good point about not eating anything too fatty so I’ll really watch that from now on. I thought it would be easier than this :-(

No it’s not, you need to eat a clean and healthy diet on the meds, otherwise you will be unwell.

most people do that and have no side effects, of the ones who have side effects, a lot of them are simply not eating right. Of course some simply can’t tolerate, but what you eat makes a difference.

thays why people say you still need to put the work in, you need to proactively chose to eat a clean diet with limited fat and sugar, you need to ensure you consume enough protein, you need to drink 3 litres of water a day or you will dehydrate, and you need to strength train to ensure you protect your muscle and lose fat. And you should never be on a dose so high you don’t feel like you can eat.

so it’s a lot easier than doing it without the drugs, but absolutely you still need to put the work in. You need to ensure your dose is correct so you also use willpower, because the drugs are a tool to enable you to do it, not do the heavy lifting, otherwise you will never be able to maintain.
